Yes, it is mutilation, and unless for real medical reasons, it is a surgery that is not necessary. It is disgusting that children are routinely mutilated and most people and society have been brainwashed to accept it as something good.

The circumcision is the worst thing that you can do to do babies. If there is any medical reason for this then let the boy to decide. No one boy with foreskin had died but milions of them dies after circumcision. The major religious reason for circumcision is to stop having "immoral thoughts" that they are started in puberty. Some people use the argument that circumcision on infants is okay because A they can't object, and B they probably won't remember it. A paedophile could easily use the very same rationale for justifying raping babies. Adults are free to have sex if they please, and have certain parts of their anaotmy removed, assuming their parents hadn't already taken the choice out of their hand. Babies can't even voice their protest when being wronged.

accually some breast cancers are familial that means it will happen to the girl ... but should we remove it earlier in life i dont think so ... but later if it shows the slightest signs yes..... however some people will fear that it might not be detected due to laziness to follow up and will just remove it

I'm uncircumcised and I have never once in my life felt self-conscious or embarrassed about it. In fact I am very proud about it and happy that I wasn't circumcised because nature intended for me to have a foreskin.

the REAL reason behind circumcision was just to show everyone that you were a christian. why choose to cut off the foreskin? because many people then didn't always cover up so it would be obvious.

It's better to be circumcised when you're old enough to make an INFORMED DECISION, meaning that it shouldn't be done on anyone under the age of 17. A boy of 10 cannot make an informed decision because he would be too young to comprehend sex and how his foreskin benifits the act.

Like I said, the child should be making an INFORMED decision. If a boy grows up in a society where the practice is routinely carried out as a matter of cultural and religious interest, if he is enchanted with the promise of presents and a big celebration...yet is not told any of the facts about the function his foreskin serves, than how is it an informed decision?

Also, there is no obligation on Muslims to circumcise.
