  • I didn't realize there were other comments here. We were in no hurry at all doing the grinding. I'm sure we even took lunch breaks. And, of course, we had no idea what we were doing starting out. We did get estimates from various tree services and, at least around here, their prices were much higher than the cost of our rental. So, if you don't put a value on our time, it was cheaper for us to do the work and rent the grinder.

  • maybe you all could give the guy some props he rented it is learning how to grind just like you guys did one day. A sc60tx is a pro machine not a rental machine

  • Do you have to register the stump grinders trailer with the DMV; do stump grinders have pinkslips

  • Part of the problem is the teeth are dull as hell, look at the chip size, its dust, not chips. Typical rental machine

  • Why, rent a stump grinder when its easier and cheaper to call someone to come out and grind your stumps, and six hours to grind 13 stumps, come on! Either that grinder is slow as hell or the person using it. My Remote Controlled Vermeer SC60TX would do the same job in an hour or two max, in 7 hours, I did about 500 to 600 small to medium stumps on a 2-3 acre lot.

  • How much did the rental cost? Looks like he did a good job.

  • About six hours to grind down 13 stumps in this area and three in another area of the yard. The first one took a long time because he wasn't moving the grinder back and forth very quickly. After he got the hang of it, he was able to work faster.

  • How long did it take?
