You can actually back stab the boar - and yes it looks just as bad as you'd imagine when you do it with a spear.

(Note this only works on that particular boar as the ones at the Duke's Archives are fully armored)

I've watched the majority of your playthrough and it bothered me that you NEVER went up into the tower at 24:34 because there's a nice item up there. You didn't even see the stairs up after you climbed up the latter after the rats

I think the boar drops a helmet, but it isn't dependant on how it's killed, just a random drop.

The special drop from the boar is completely random. There are no special techniques used in order to obtain it, if anyone says otherwise THEY ARE LYING!

@VulxaniSolas Yeah I came to the same conclusion after failing to get the boar helmet using every single method that I could think of on multiple tries with a different character off cam. Thanks for confirming this.

The boar drops a helmet. I got it myself, looks really bizzare. Im not sure if i did anything special or just got lucky though.

easiest way to kill the boar is to trick him into running over the fire "instant death"

I hear if you started with the pendent you get extra story as NPCs recognize it...also don't kill NPCs until you have to (they go crazy or turn hollow) this will also expand the story as they tell you what happened since you last helped them. often the NPCs you rescue have amazing spells and skill to sell you (or sometimes they just give you stuff) also don't kill the Embraced Knight, he drops a lot better stuff when you HAVE to kill him later

You wanna know the trick of luring? Noise. They actually hear noises. Walk around enemies that are grouped, don't dive and stuff

You missed out on the Drake sword. You should've shot his tail to death with arrows and you get a great weapon.

The boar helmet is a random drop, but there is a higher than average chance that he drops it. It doesn't really have anything to do with how you kill him.

@Sevogajre You can increase the odds of getting the helm if you get a certain amount of hits on his head (firebombs count!) Hope this helps :)

I believe the boar drops his helmet if you smack him on the head enough. Not entirely sure though, as I've not had any luck with it either.

@nickplaysvideogames I got the helmet when I did a drop attack on the boar. Only needed one hit too. Was a bit disappointed as it was my first run in with the creature... (Un)Fortunately my next character wasnt as lucky and ended up getting gored as well as not finding a nifty boar head helm.
