Sorry to sound nitpicky, but that voice work was pretty bad. Half the moon just exploded and yet neither showed any emotion whatsoever.

I don't know, if you look at how the media (at least in the U.S.) covered 9/11, they tried to remain rather stoic while they discussed it, despite the fear that the terrorists would attack other places at any moment (such as the Pentagon) and that countless people were dying inside the towers. I know, it's hard to compare the twin towers falling with a part of the moon being blown up, but they are in a science fiction rendering of Earth 40 years from now.
