  • Now that was useless!

  • Just put a solar panel on the roof. Who needs an alternator?

  • NO explanation on how to identify if its broken or not wtf? Wud a waste of time.

  • And your point was?

  • Bonito de mamãe... Vou decifrá-lo!

  • take it to garge....... not to youtube

  • some people think u can run a car without and alternator...this is some times true but most of the time u need a battery to energies the outer coils of the alternator sound funny but you need to electricity in-order to create more

  • @domeworm Acctually all you need is a good batterey, you can unhook the clamp wire and start it and it will still run..the only thing you mosly need it for is for the pulley to keep the belt tight. You dont need an alternator, just a decent batterey

  • TE QUEDASTE CONTENTO CON ESTE VIDEO BASURA.....

  • an old trick to finding out if the bearings are getting ready to go in alternators or your water pump (or a way to locate where a noise is coming from) is to take a broom stick (whole one or cut it to a 3foot or so section) place one end on the part you want to test and the other end put up to your ear. If the bearing are getting ready to go you will hear a screaming sound through the stick. If their in good shape you'll hear just a humm. Try it and see.

  • что это?

  • @said24ru

Альтернатор машины. Который вырабатывает электро питание машине при включеном двигателе. Так же он подаёт заряды искры Свечам. Используеться для значительной экономий питания Батарей машины.

  • it looks brand new

  • mine smokes.i got a volvo 440 1,8L made in 1992 and the battery dies and now when i recharge it the alternator smokes .this sux

  • no dude an alternator powers everthing in your car .switch every thing on lights radio wypers and disconnect the battery all the electronics stays on. everything electronic is funtional with out the battery while the engine is on idol via alternator

  • Untill you crank the stereo up or forget to turn your lights off for a workday, lol.

  • @coolaidkiller101 Unless you're this guy.

  • @coolaidkiller101 the alternator recharges/ keeps your battery charged. everything electrical runs off the battery. all the alternator does is keep your battery from dying i was on a race team where we built a circle track car that didn't run a alternator just a strong battery, and i also after replacing the alternator on my car forgot to plug it in and drove around for about a half hour so so with ac and radio on until my battery died so yeah just felt the need to correct you

  • @weekendwarrior58 try this,

1 turn your car on and leave it on idle

2turn your lights on and your radio whatever you have but dont crank it because an alternator can give about 50-70amps

3take the battery lead off the car do both if you want to, and voila your lights and radio stay on right? because they should ,i already tryed it on a old peogeot 106 and a jeep,

  • @coolaidkiller101 A car alternator can theroetically run away if you disconnect the battery, potentially resulting in hundreds of volts output, with subsequent fires following. It's more unlikely on modern cars however, as the voltage regulator is more precise and quick.

  • @weekendwarrior58 have you tryed the opposite as run the car on alternator no batts

  • vidiosinho maneiro

  • Excellent video, how stubit you are?

  • my jeep makes the same noise! thanks for sharing I was wondering what it was.

  • who ever said free power? thats dumb dude, sorry but its plain ignorant. its an alternator, it sustains a potential difference by means of voltage. simply creates an electric current that charges the battery up and powers the spark plugs and all the mumbo jumbo inside your car... ok? nobody said perpetual movement

  • What u said is partly true, Contrary to popular belive an alternator does not charge ur battery a genorator *sorry for spelling* Does an alternator Just simple holds the batter at current voltage for Example if the the battery is at 10 volts then it will keep it a 10 volts if the battery is at 2 volts it will keep it at 2 volts it dosent power the stuff in ur car the battery does this just keep the battery at the same voltage all the time but u where right for the spark plug part

  • well, yeah, i guess. i mean, im no expert in the circuitry inside the car, im more mechanical if you know what i mean. but yeah ok it does matter, now i know it just sustains the battery. but hey what that dude was saying was just incredibely stupid

  • Yes i tottaly agree i am not making fun of u, Older cars had genorators and im not sure why they dont know i am more of a mechanicle too i use to be on a funny car racing team ;) ) THere is no such thing as free energy an energy force must be used up to creat a differnt one, for instance the engine burning gasoline to move the car, alot of people think there is free energy but i always have to spend time explaing why

  • @shadowhunter45s wind, water, sun, permanent magnets?not used up.

  • lets use the sun for example. what is it made of? hydrogen it is constantly burning although made up of lots of hydrogen the sun will not last forever and will burn out. The wind is cause by differnt pressure increases and drops which has to to with heating of the air power by the sun. Magnets no matter how permanet do not last forever over time they lose their strength Water is slowly being depleted but there is so much its hard to notice

  • then how do you explain that say you have 12.6 volts in you battery, you start the car, the alt starts charging and you get well over 13.5 volts...

or when your battery is dead and you jump start your car, and drive it for an hour or so, then the battery is charged again....

  • they will create a small charge too, but u will need to frive for awhile older cars that had generators could charge the battery in a number of mins these dont

  • WRONG, a correctly working Auto alternator should Always charge at 13.6-14.3 Volts if it isn't then it's screwed, get it replaced a.s.a.p. or you will start breaking down in your drive or in traffic e.t.c.

  • yes over a period of time. old car with generators wiould charge the battery ti full in a number of minitues

  • @corotor12345 free power on youtube is like penis enlargement from hotmail..

  • @poweressen

Yes! That analogy is borderline genius LOL.

  • Simply spin it fast enough and you get about 14V.

  • haha umm ok this has 120,000 views because?!?

i dont even know why i clicked to this but watever this guys doin its workin lol

  • ~14.2v

  • hey how much volts the alternator along make on 6000RPM??

  • @ninjansx Alternators have a regulator that varies the strength of the rotating magnetic field on the rotor. The windings on the outside generate AC power. The faster the magnetic field rotates inside the stator windings the more current and voltage you can extract. The AC power is run through a rectifier which converts it to DC. At low RPM a strong magnetic field is required to produce 13.8v for example. At high RPM only a weak magnetic field is required to produce 13.8v.

  • @ninjansx It can depend on what voltage the regulator is aiming to how much voltage you can get, or some people replace the electro magnet on the rotor for permanent magnets to turn it into a hobby generator. By doing this, there is no way of regulating the voltage except by regulating the RPM. Therefore, the answer to your question is it depends on many things what voltage you will get at 6000RPM.

  • and the point was?

  • not real sure how I ended up watching this video but I feel like I could have spent that 22 seconds of life in a better way.

  • fckign youtube propaganda, thatz why so many view

  • 80,000 views? Wow

  • 66'000 and raising :D

  • 61,000 views? SHOOT ME NOW!

  • 29,000 views? Why don't I just shoot myself now?

  • Yeah thas so easy to fix you could do it with your eyes closed

  • it will do that when u are pulling to mutch power from it it cant keep up so it makes that buzzing noise

  • dude get a new one ur ball bareings are fucked up

  • if you love your car buy a new alternator

  • I have that happen before, also. Quick ride to Shucks, 80 bucks, some work and it was all taken care of.

  • aww man, Your alternator is out in the open and very easy to fix. You are lucky. We have a DAtsun 710, the alternator mounts to the bottom. :(

  • From thie video, how can a novice like me tell it's broken? Is that ticking sound the give away?

  • Delco CS130 (N.F.G.) Rebuilders love these

  • rebuild it!

  • i did. Works very well now!

  • aww shucks
