@Toadonatwig Hi, I'm using Camtasia Studio (v6--although newer versions are out now). I'm pretty sure there's a thread on TalkGraphics where I go into detail about what I do...but then again it might be out of date, I'm not sure.
Thanks Xhris, I was baulking a bit at £79 for an upgrade when it was the same price to upgrade from the non pro version but your videos have convinced me that Xara is doing as good a job as ever and that there's lots of interesting new stuff.
how do you shift and move the blend around @15.38?

@nacah You can Ctrl+click an end object to select it within the blend.

how does the program knows that the black is suppose to be transparent in the first place?

@nacah That's the default, but after you've applied an opacity mask, you can press Ctrl+Alt+V to reverse it so white is transparent.
