Nothing was made up in the Bible! Sure, Jesus told the parables, but there was truth behind that.
I think I know what you're saying, though. You want us to know that some things in the Bible puzzle you. Guess what! Things puzzle me too! That doesn't stop me, though. I know what I believe, and the only thing I can do is to stand up for that. If you aren't convinced, than your inner-self might be TRYING to keep you unconvinced. Hope it doesn't work!

Anyone who's been late to an airport with a flight to catch knows that you can run with suitcases. It's harder, sure, but I'd rather do something challenging and real than believe in something made-up because it feels comforting.
@noforbiddenquestions A realationship with God isnt really just for comfort... Its what we were created for, and have strayed from. The song is that its hard to be with God and yet carry so much baggage when he has already carried them to the cross for you, we just have to learn to give it up to him.
@legoles0323 That story doesn't make any sense to me. You believe in a god that made up some rules, made humans that he knew would break those rules, decided to punish humans for being the way he made them, then decided to send himself in the form of his son to die a gruesome death because this would somehow "fix" the problem he created in the first place. Sorry, not convinced. But I agree, it isn't really that comforting, kind of gross really. It's more the "made-up" part that gets me.
@noforbiddenquestions You misunderstand. God is free & made human beings in his image. He had to make you free because Love is a choice & cannot be forced. Rules were made to protect you, like warning signs that the bridge is out. If you ignore them, you suffer not because God wants you to but because you made bad choices. Fear, guilt, & condemnation separate you from Love, so God had to experience fear to overcome it & be able reach you. That's why he came to suffer & die as a man.

I love that the line is "you can't RUN with suitcases". We try to walk with them and get held down but it's nearly impossible to RUN THE RACE we are meant to run with suitcases. Love the thought of them bursting at the seams with stuff falling out as you go. Never thought of it in that detail but it's sooooo true. Can't wait for July for the album to come out.
