His ideas are the future, absolutely no doubt, but i think he could have explained himself a bit better, like when she asked about herself, she could still remain being a reporter because people would still need global and regional news and she would be contributing towards society, what he's trying to say is people may re-evaluate their positions who are or arnt happy in their jobs and go and do what theyve always wanted without the restrictions of capitalism
i sometimes think that this society enlightenment that's coming with the "2012" age, is very linked with this movement, or maybe an upcoming movement alike. Change, boys... change.
Jesus Christ let the man dream! It's not like he's forcing you to be in a different society, you have the atrophied ability to choose. Why is it, when someone comes out with new idea's, people get so threatened by them? The reason why we're gullible; giving into the possibility of not having to worry about anything. We really want to be more free but we're conditioned to believe that this is freedom and you're not working hard enough. When there's too many rules to follow fascism is the shadow.
So, it should be obvious, the problem is the lack of understanding. Many humans don't act on instinct alone now that they have minds. But these minds aren't being used efficiently, and it annoys me to see how mismanaged this beautiful world has become. I wouldn't mind so much if people were fine with their ignorance, but that is the apparent problem. I am patient with others, self-sufficient and peaceful, yet people find it their obligation to bother me. I'm insulted way more than society sees.
Well, no shit society is a failure. Although, politics and society shouldn't be far apart as implied. Politics, in general as I mean is that our society needs control. We need natural leaders to govern our world because people are really naive. Humans are at the borderline of simple animals and thinkers, for they can only have simple opinions.
And economy isn't really a part of the physical reality. It is merely an invisible set of rules that shifts power around. Any idiot can be powerful.
Like most people, the interviewer can't see outside of the prescribed box of selfishness and personal gain. Small mind at work here. Not unintelligent, just inhibited. I fully get what Peter is trying to say, because I am one of a growing number of people who have stepped outside of my tiny personal interest in the world and seen how things work (or rather fail) as a whole, and how with some applied logic and reason, it could easily be made much more effective. Our current ways are faulty.
He's sorta kinda half right. The existence of a central bank is your first clue to understanding that our current system is not a capitalist system. A pure, unregulated, capitalistic economy allows for both dynamic changes, personal choices, and maximization of resources he describes. Our current puppet government impedes this process for the benefits of its shareholders.
@Ataensic What is pure capitalism but pure self-interest? Your pure capitalism view is much more of a utopian concept than what Peter is talking about. You are in love with a contrived, artificial concept (money) that every other other species on this planet has managed to do entirely without; most of those species have survived (and THRIVED) MUCH longer than humanity has been stomping around.
@CaptainDummyTalk Money is a tool of exchange, not some sort of contrived artificial concept. If you think human beings can live on the same level as alligators or sea urchins, you're deluded.
"Total overhaul of society" sounds pretty extreme huh? It won't happen overnight. The simple truth is that we need to start appreciating other lifeforms, our fellow man, and our planet on a significantly larger scale or we are doomed to die here. This is a very volatile time in our history, and quite frankly it's terrifying. Are we going to come together for the betterment of humankind or are we going to fight amongst ourselves for the scraps of our downfall? I know what I'll shoot for.
@SamFischer1000 It is mentally ill to conceive the idea that we could all possibly live and (more importantly) thrive on this planet together? If you believe that can't possibly happen, then you are clearly a functional part of the reason why it cannot.
@CaptainDummyTalk No, I mean he exhibits some classical signs of mental disorder. Try looking for "Walter Wagner" for someone with a similar problem. Crazy isn't as obvious as one may think. Usually nobody notices it until it bites them on the arse.

The best solution I have seen towards the progression of the human species. The problem, in may opinion, is he is decades maybe even centuries ahead of his time. Like all great thinkers in history, joseph will be ignored by the establishment, but will be a genius in future history books. Btw I am aware that this idea was started by jacque fresco, but peter is the messenger. I truley believe the monetary system is holding back human progression, however I also Believe we are still many years away
Very intelligent human being. I think his ideas are very similar to Islamic teachings. All the problem that he mentioned regarding the current world system and management are already mentioned in Quran. I hope he reads the Quran because He seems to be missing the mechanism to make his ideas reality which is already mentioned in Quran in very much detail.
@sfitube Yes alot of ideas can be linked to Hinduism and Buddhism not to sure about Islam.(symbiotic relationship with the earth is what I mean what do you mean?) The problem with old teachings is there is alot of conflicting advice. The Zeitgeist Movement wants to move forwards in a clear direction using a scientific method to reach its goals.
@TheMigs101 I do not mean to romanticize my religion but it cannot be compared with anything else on this earth. It is the only authentic teaching that has survived the past human experience. When we talk about science we imagine a precision and accuracy. That is how we look at Quran. There are 1300+ verses in Quran dealing with subject of science and so far none of them have conflicted with modern science. Quran challenges its reader to find just one single mistake in the book.
@TheMigs101 Quran asks its reader to think, reflect and ask question. It goes as far as to say that this book is for those who reflect. It continually challenges it reader to find the source for this book. As you said about the conflicting teaching the Quran says “Had it issued from any but God, they would surely have found in it many an inner contradiction!”. So if you can find ONE single Conflict in the Quran then that's is it.
@TheMigs101 Quran says " They wont be content with you until you follow their (collective) ways." hance expaning the (so called) wars of ifghanistan and Iraq and Pakisisan. Muslims have been fighting agains these injustices and currupt system since ages because we are warned about these things. We do not think just being able to do any thing is freedom because how do you know if you are not inslaving your self? In Islam socity comes first then the individual. Like a Brick.
@Stillillgal he has, ad nauseum. watch more videos of his, he's not shy to admitting that his films and speeches on RBE were inspired by Fresco's teachings.
well. it's really not about that. i respect peter as a film maker and musician...but if edison came with the light bulb (he didnt.. but if so) you had to go hear the ideas from him.. not from a messenger... peter really dosent know enough about tvp or "rbem"
Why not from a messenger? Personal glory is not the goal here. If Jacque Fresco, or Peter Joseph or anyone else is getting uppity about not being credited for mere concepts then they're clearly in this for the wrong reasons. The important part is that society changes, and how that happens is largely inconsequential.
@Stillillgal This comment and the fact (yes we already know because Peter Joseph told us so) that Jacque Fresco "invented" RBE have NO relevance to the goal we're collectively trying to achieve here. And by the way, a Resource Based Economy would be common sense if the world hadn't been so brainwashed from birth by our current systems of controland manipulation, so not like it needed "inventing", just needs implimenting.
A probable example that can be applied with current issue could be:
Iran Civilian-Nuclear Crisis
Solution - Why dont US and Israel establish a new nuclear program in Iran, fund and sponsored by US and Israel, benefitting the society of Iran. In the process US and Israel is payed by Iranian Govt.
Its not 100% Zeitgeist , but the thought is there.
She subtly represents much of the mental distortion in this world mentioned by Peter. Peter should not be worshiped, that already has caused a religious stir. He is a great idea and the best possible solution. So if your roof is leaking, you call the roofers. If your back is sore, you goto the chiropractor. If society is fixed oppressed and frail, You watch Zeitgeist.
She mocks peter with the question about incentive. "Check her body language 12:56 when refering to people." The wellbeing of the people and the planet is all the incentive you need.
I work hard for my money. I enjoy spending it on things I like. I live within my means. If everybody did this we wouldn't be in the trouble we are and we wouldn't need the zeitgeist movement.
@papafsb444 Define EVERYONE. This right here is the problem. I work hard too, but do I really want to work for the rest of my life, spending money on nights out and buying gadgets? No. I want to live in a world where we are truly in charge, where I don't have to do that 9-5 just to put a roof over my head. EVERYONE in Africa should be out working in sweatshops to make us those cheap clothes to buy though? You look at this so one dimensional.
@papafsb444 You live in a dream world, thanks to some of the people in power. You live in a nice part of the world clearly to make your statement. What about those kids dying in third world countries every day? You think "they just can't be arsed to work"? Really fucking question what you're saying. How do you think they got into their position? Why do you think 1% of the population on the planet owns almost half the wealth. If you can't see the problem right there, then you are simply deluded.
Even though it's always good to see PJ promoting the movement, for an "outsider" (hate to use that term), a person who is not familiar with the movement, it is not impossible to see TZM as cultish. There's no reason not to have PJ stand out and speak for the behalf of the movement, but the movement really needs more people like him in order to withdraw the focus from one sole spokesperson.
I actually think this reporter wasn't as bad as some that he has been interviewed by. She was willing to listen to his points of view, and she brought up some typical questions that people will ask. For all those who support the Zeitgeist movement, this is a really good resource to use when you are discussing the concept to your friends and family. They will ask similar questions and he answered in such an intelligent and articulate manner. Go PJ!!
I don't think she's selfish. In the face of such a monumental change it's normal and natural for her to say, "I'm scared to change everything about my life which provides "abundance" for me today". That will be the major feeling that, if addressed, will cause such idealized proposals to be seriously considered by the masses or be labeled a "Dream". I look forward to the changes coming I hope we can all accept that it IS going to change before what's required of us becomes "too great to bear".
The best examples of people working to contribute to society without getting paid are wikipedia, firefox, linux and the thousands of opensource softwares, which are most of the times better than similar softwares made by people who got paid.
@ppsp3 wait, LINUX? please tell me more about why Linux are not so money grubbing because I might change operative system next time I get a new computer!
@Tarik360 It's free, but not very user friendly I heard, but I haven't tried myself. Since it's open source you can modify it yourself if you know how to program. I think there are some user friendly versions out there
@adam9a9 : Every country wants to export more than it imports, but this is impossible. World total exports (of course) = world total imports.
If machines break down and can't fix themselves humans will have to fix them, of course, but we currently build machines that break down so that they need repairing or replacing; this creates more jobs and more demand = growth.
you gave away manufacturing to china and the rest? and who do you think gave it away to America?
and don't let yourself blind by what you think you know.
the greek puppet government faked their balanced IN ORDER to let the crisis progress and fuck with all the peoples money. it's no fucking secret. this WILL happen to the US as well and other euro countries. just take a look at US debt. It makes you people over there look lazy, too.. doesn't it?
i agree with she did a great job of letting him talk. i agree so much with what he is saying i started getting into this by watching future by design great doc.
i agree with she did a great job of letting him talk. i agree so much with what he is saying i started getting into this by watching future by design great doc.
I like a lot of PJ's ideas. But without money, where is the incentive to do the necessary shit jobs? How will the financially secure be convinced to give it all up? Maybe I'm not thinking 4th dimensionally. lol
@Hootowl54 Imagine that you are provided with a very nice place to live, all the food you can eat, and other material comforts you need, the ability to travel to anywhere you want all without money. Now imagine what your incentive would be to do anything. Would you really have no incentive to do anything if someone didn't pay you? You should really watch zeitgeist addendum, it will answer most of the major questions regarding a resource based economic model.
@Hootowl54 the goal is to automate jobs as much as we can. just like in the past there were thousands of people working in the post office and today we have internet
She is not a journalist. She is an actress. For example, she shows her emotions when she stresses how much she loves being a journalist. The subtlety of her war cry is very effective. Conversely, she suppresses her emotions to appear objective -- something that humans are incapable. If she were genuine, she would have figured out by now that reality is subjective. Just as a business can't be ethical, humans can't be objective. If she were truly passionate, she would do it 4free, right?
@shawnlhmh what are you guys talking about? This is a news station. The only reason it is beneficial, is because it creates more exposure -- that's all. Stop yourself from worrying what others think. If you want to know what you think, ask yourself.
@bizz4ethix Settle down, hippy. I was just saying that it's a good introduction for anyone unaware of the movement because the questions she asks are probably the same questions that a lot of people probably have when they first learn about the ZM. I care about what other people think because for the movement to progress requires *other people*.
@shawnlhmh ROTFLMAO. "Settle down, hippie..." That was an awesome comeback. Thank you for verbally slapping me. I got carried away. And, in the words of Eric Cartman, "I Hate Hippies!" Please don't refer to me as a slovenly, hairy, patchouli and ass smelling carcass.
Best person EVAR! And a good reporter. Good job by her, letting him talk and listening to him. If she was corrupt, the interview would be pointless. Good job both! :)
WOW. It is sad how our society became self oriented. She said: "What about me, I like my job!" Happy for her, but how about people in Africa that are hungry and thirsty...Don't they deserve to be happy???? The saying that we should have is: "IT IS NOT ABOUT ME,IT IS ABOUT US!!!"
@anchi12 hmm, agenda 21 seems to be exactly like zeitgeist..actually agenda 21 is a more complete and concise version of zeitgeist because it addresses all of the economic issues relating to a RBE that zeitgeist doesnt..do u know of any contrasts between one and the other? i cant seem to find any
Peter Joseph is da beast. No disrespect to the woman he is talking to, but his train of thought and intelligence is unbearable for her. He is like a celestial being with the intelligence of another planet. There is no opinion to have of this, the only thing that i relevant is ARE WE AS A HUMAN POPULATION ALL WILLING TO GO FORTH WITH THIS AND CARE FOR EACH OTHER AS A FAMILY.
@dswag91 Doubt that could happen now. Only way I see further damage to the world stopping is if we train the younger generation in a way to think and do this if you get what I mean. Like, a grown up right now wont just say yes if you say you are gonna take some of their assets and pass it equally to people around the world, greed is too high right now imo
I'll say it again,Peter Joseph is today's Thomas Paine! I only wish that when explaining the RBE to others I will have half the insight as this world hero called Peter Joseph has. He makes the seemingly complicated not so complicated anymore. Like listening to my favorite music, I could listen to Peter all day long. Again another great interview!!
some body know some think abaut "Rachel Botsman - Collaborative Consumption" and the (Open Source Ecology Marcin Jakubowski) here can find a transition option or PLAN B ¦-}>
Peter Joseph is the speaker of TRUTH that the common people cannot or will not understand. He tries to open the eyes of the indoctrinated masses in order to bring them to the next level of humankind. We should all listen to the intelligence that is coming from his words. Once we realize that what he is saying is not for his own gain, then progress can occur. We must overcome our differences in opinions & think as one, for ALL people, in order for change to come. Peacce to all.
@Clavera That is SO very true! It has been that way thru/out history. But the difference I see with this man, PJ, is that he tries to unite all people for ONE goal. And that is to, make life better for each & every one of us. I can't explain enough on this reply but if you get a chance, I hope you will watch his movies in order to have a more detailed understanding. But even if PJ truly has a hidden agenda, I think it is WAY better than the visions of our leaders in office today, don't you?
@drla02 Yes, I have seen all the Zeitgeist Movies and some of The Venus Project movies. I agree with their agenda, that is, I fully support the movement as it is the best solution I heard of yet.
@Clavera That's great. Now if only the rest of the world will just listen to this agenda, then maybe we could finally make a change for the entire world & ALL of its inhabitants. Great to hear from a young, open minded person such as yourself. I have 2 young kids & am trying hard to teach them of the RBE being more advantageous than our current world systems. Btw, I would really like to hear your opinion as to why you believe/feel that PJ has his own personal interest at heart-if you have time.
@drla02 Sure. I believe that because I have never seen anyone do something "for others" without the slightest self gain when doing something. Nothing wrong with that, I guess that's how things just work. Still, realising that making the life better for other people will also make your own life better in the long run due to several different factors in each scenario is also a way better world view than focusing only on ones personal gains only, which might even cause other people to suffer.
@Clavera Thanx! I now understand why you said it. It is true that none of us knows what others really think, or do something good for others for absolutely nothing. In my lifetime, I have tried, as much possible, to do whatever I can for anyone who asks- without ever expecting anything in return. No matter the circumstance, I will do my best & that is what I will teach my kids as well. I know I sound like I'm making myself look better than anyone else but I am truly not. I want to give my....
@Clavera my extra time & knowledge to others in order to "pay it forward" if you will. I hope to think that when I help someone, they will in turn pass on that act of kindness to others & it will become exponential. Yes, some will not get that idea, but I still have hope in ALL humankind to make a change for ALL people. After watching Zeigeist, I feel I have found that true answers to ALL the questions I had, growing up as a kid in a 3rd world country. I have been very fortunate in my life...
@Clavera and yet cannot help feeling helpless about all the less fortunate people from around the world. So, I will do my best to educate my kids about what I feel as the TRUTH & have them carry on in their lives helping others. Thank-you for your time & conversation- it was a pleasure to be able to chat w/ someone who can listen to & enlighten others when they speak. Peace.
Peter is just relaying the knowledge that we have up to this point. He looks at all of history and derives conclusions from the basis of mass research. He is looking at it as "inevitable evolution." One must understand that he is coming from the background, the viewpoint that this is the natural evolution of things, that technological unemployment is inevitable and that with the knowledge and material resources that we have now, that this can not only work, but that efficiency is key.
Everyone, please hear me out. I am a young independent revolutionary MC who is trying to get views on a rap contest that is based on how many the video "likes" and I uploaded my video later then most so they have a head start, but if you want to help support real music that says something, then please like this comment and like this video watch?v=TBJj13ma6Jo
You would be really usefull by beeing ALIVE supporting the goals and methods of a resource based economy than killing yourself...which would bring JUST bad media for the movement...
PS: I know you wouldn't really kill yourself... i'm just saying before someone try to say that people inside the movement wants to kill themselfs lol
they wont have to WORK they can live and everyone is ok..its possible its just...people are too used to being lazy greedy ass fucks.......its that simple and everyone here thats too STUPID to see through the bullshit deserves to just die :) a waste of a sperm cell if you ask me
He is a great speaker and really understands what he is talking about, but too early for "amen" words, don't you think :-)
Also let us not make idols and icons. The Movements is about the idea of resource-based economy and new values system. So, it is in the hands of everyone of us to actually make it happen!
@dvddjscottymack Maybe you missed the point. In the current system he has to make money by working just like everybody else, but he's trying to promote a future solution to our current system's perversion. He even mentions it in this interview that he's in the advertisement business which he says is useless as it doesn't contribute anything to the society.
@ohforfsakeletmein we should all sell everything and live off the grid....or occupy wall street and shout down corporations...all while using the interne/facebook/twitter and our iphones and ipads,,,blogging the details and then go eat at mcdonalds and get a starbucks coffee while demonstrating...yeah ...thats gonna work
@dvddjscottymack I partly agree that it wont, not at the moment. That's the only problem I have with zetigeist ideas, they're great but there's no clear way to get to that point from where we are now, so they thought they'll start by ontroducing these ideas for the public awareness which I'd say is an OK move but what they should really be doing is helping to start implementing the ideas of the venus project, like replace a few housholds with TVP households, things like that.
@ohforfsakeletmein I know.. I'm a cynic because all these ideas have been sold before..in one way or another ...for the last 50 years. The whole new age movement stated in the late 50' and 60's..was going to be Utopia...yet here we are. Ideas are great to listen to...but actually getting it done/walking the walk after talking the talk etc...seems to never happen. Doesn't make the talkers any better than politicians....maybe this generation can get it done; but Im not holding my greath
@dvddjscottymack I do believe there is something to this. The main reason is the unbelievable advances in technology since the 50s or 60s. I have high hopes for The Venus Project, my big concern is that Jacque Fresco doesn't have much time left in this world, though I'm hoping he has enough trusted followers who will be able to continue his work without him.
@dvddjscottymack any movement or intiation of an idea, begins with you, no one else. When you blame anyone for anything it is just a reflection how how you are doing inside.
@organikness ... thats profound....Im having mr rogers neighborhood flashbacks now.
Thanks for the wisdom...and I had no idea i was blaming everyone else...I am a changed man now, ready to take on the world thanks to your tidbit of internet psychology
@dvddjscottymack there are walkers. ever herd of the zeitgeist movement? im one of the walkers. whats ur question concerning taking action? there are a few ways to ACT on this .
@ohforfsakeletmein : if u realy look further into this, that indea wouldnt work either. only bcause if u were to say< build an actual RBE city the size of chinatown, the other parts of the country would easly try to either take over or find some monetary way to profit off it by making it some kind of voyage trip or a new disny world visit

TheMidwestsk8ter 3 months ago
@Stillillgal he has, ad nauseum. watch more videos of his, he's not shy to admitting that his films and speeches on RBE were inspired by Fresco's teachings.
ontheotherhandx6 2 months ago
@Stillillgal
Even if he did, so what? That sort of meaningless posturing 'copyright' mentality is exactly what the proposed system doesn't need.
Vire70 2 months ago
@Vire70
well. it's really not about that. i respect peter as a film maker and musician...but if edison came with the light bulb (he didnt.. but if so) you had to go hear the ideas from him.. not from a messenger... peter really dosent know enough about tvp or "rbem"
Stillillgal 2 months ago
@Stillillgal
Vire70 2 months ago
@Stillillgal This comment and the fact (yes we already know because Peter Joseph told us so) that Jacque Fresco "invented" RBE have NO relevance to the goal we're collectively trying to achieve here. And by the way, a Resource Based Economy would be common sense if the world hadn't been so brainwashed from birth by our current systems of controland manipulation, so not like it needed "inventing", just needs implimenting.
justinjlawson 2 months ago

Uribaani 4 months ago

@dswag91 Doubt that could happen now. Only way I see further damage to the world stopping is if we train the younger generation in a way to think and do this if you get what I mean. Peacce to all.
drla02 4 months ago
@drla02 No one does things without self interest. He and everyone else has something to gain from a change in the system to what he describes.
Clavera 4 months ago
@Clavera That is SO very true! It has been that way thru/out history. But the difference I see with this man, PJ, is that he tries to unite all people for ONE goal. And that is to, make life better for each & every one of us. I can't explain enough on this reply but if you get a chance, I hope you will watch his movies in order to have a more detailed understanding. But even if PJ truly has a hidden agenda, I think it is WAY better than the visions of our leaders in office today, don't you?
drla02 4 months ago
@drla02 Yes, I have seen all the Zeitgeist Movies and some of The Venus Project movies. I agree with their agenda, that is, I fully support the movement as it is the best solution I heard of yet.
Clavera 4 months ago
@Clavera That's great. Now if only the rest of the world will just listen to this agenda, then maybe we could finally make a change for the entire world & ALL of its inhabitants. Great to hear from a young, open minded person such as yourself. I have 2 young kids & am trying hard to teach them of the RBE being more advantageous than our current world systems. Btw, I would really like to hear your opinion as to why you believe/feel that PJ has his own personal interest at heart-if you have time.
drla02 4 months ago
@drla02 Sure. I believe that because I have never seen anyone do something "for others" without the slightest self gain when doing something. Nothing wrong with that, I guess that's how things just work. Still, realising that making the life better for other people will also make your own life better in the long run due to several different factors in each scenario is also a way better world view than focusing only on ones personal gains only, which might even cause other people to suffer.
Clavera 4 months ago
@Clavera Thanx! I now understand why you said it. It is true that none of us knows what others really think, or do something good for others for absolutely nothing. In my lifetime, I have tried, as much possible, to do whatever I can for anyone who asks- without ever expecting anything in return.

@dvddjscottymack I partly agree that it wont, not at the moment. ohforfsakeletmein 4 months ago
@ohforfsakeletmein I know.. I'm a cynic because all these ideas have been sold before..in one way or another ...for the last 50 years. Ideas are great to listen to...but actually getting it done/walking the walk after talking the talk etc...seems to never happen. Doesn't make the talkers any better than politicians....maybe this generation can get it done; but Im not holding my greath
dvddjscottymack 4 months ago
@dvddjscottymack I do believe there is something to this. The main reason is the unbelievable advances in technology since the 50s or 60s.
