  • Today I woke up, made some tea, listened to some Sigur Ros...now I'm in such a jovial mood! I wish more people could stop killing themselves and eachother and make peace...with both everybody AND their music, unlike that hip-hop and death-metal crap

  • @StarStruckbyBlaze

:D Awesome, I did the same this morning :)

  • I don't understand the lyrics and this is definitely not what I usually listen to...

...but I absolutely fell in love with this song. It introduced me to a whole new feeling.

  • I love metal and rock.. But my number one is definitely Sigur Ros, and of course Jonsi (Sigur's vocalist). Iceland is the most beautiful place on earth..

  • @MsEscape666 metal is my music. Death metal mainly. But this is good shit. And icelands ranked the happiest country to live in

  • @IceTrey98c My biggest dream is to move to Iceland (when I'll grow up). I was there about two years ago, and now I can't stop thinking about it, really, everyday I'm dreaming about Iceland :D Iceland is addictive :D And the musicians from Iceland are real masters, of music and of happiness :D

  • @MsEscape666 fuck man i can tell by the amount of :D's lol

  • Acoustic guitars and whisper singing I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE EVER THIS MUST BE A SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE OF MUSIC.

  • ideal for a nap! love green!

  • Exquisite. Just beautiful.

  • Sigur Rós songs on youtube are the only videos free of flaming, spam, trolling, hate, and arguements. People who don't know of Sigur won't know of these videos. People that happen to stumble accross them by accident recieve a reality check and leave a better person.

  • @LanceThackeray man u are right! n

Noticed that in my Sigur Ros _Marathon of today :) I want to belong here, so calm... :)

  • beautiful...i love sigur ròs

  • I listen to Black Metal too and it is like listening to music made for the Gods.

  • Very beautiful song.

  • Whatever you feel...whatever place your soul is in at the moment, Sigur Ros will find it, and BLOW IT UP!

  • this song is so incredibly beautiful that it nearly hurts...So peaceful, so full of hope...SIgur Ros is definitely THE band of the century...

Well..Hope you dont see this as a spam, but I think this will interest some of you..

I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"

If you've got the time, listen to the song "Lost in timeless horizons" and "Falling into nothingness"

breathtaking powerful songs by this extremely young guy..

  • @MdmaMadnesS I believe I discovered that guy from Sigur Ros vids on youtube as well, and yes, he is certainly worth listening to, even if you dont have time.

  • @gavinmoose I want to know! can you please send me the tabs?

  • I remember listening to this while going to work at 6 am, this is perfect for morning, specially when sun wakes up with you ;)

  • @skopofil yeah its called Simply Beautiful.

  • intro reminded me of a pink floyd song /watch?v=_0v07InoFiU

  • at 2:48 -3:05 is that at the Greenbelt in Austin? haha

  • the fact that you can't understand the lyrics makes their music all that more beautiful :)

  • Whenever you have a problem, just let Sigur Ros fix it.

  • 2:56 <- Eu adoro esse backing

  • @mawvado Acho que adoro a música toda:D

    São muito bons eles.

  • Le falta fuerza, sigur ros me trasmite mucha intensidad.

  • jónsi is defiantly singing in icelandic, been learning the language for a while now and even i can pick quite alot of this up

  • the title translates to 'good day' from icelandic. (:

  • @GermanPeoplePerson apparently wikipedia says its Good Morning lol

  • @TheDallyLama yes it means good morning (good day)

  • @TheDallyLama really? well then.. wikipedia lies! lol. i've been learning icelandic for a while and i'm quite sure it means good day. XP

  • @GermanPeoplePerson - We don't actually have any kind of saying for "Good morning" Góðan Daginn goes for both Good Morning / Day.

Góða Kvöldið is the opposite, or Good evening. :) Hope this helped.

  • Simplemente hermoso. Gracias, Sigur Rós. And thank you Basketballerke for upload this song.

  • @skopofil haha, I like it. I'll quote you on that :)

  • this is not iceland but thats good, its time for others to aprichate there suroundings if they dotn already, and realise our origins, and what we are cabeble of.

  • Abuelo estoy llorando mucho me recuerda mucho a ti y cuando estabamos juntos en 1994.

    Hola pabla

  • Nice edits on your vids, bbk.

  • It`s magic!! Sigur Ros forever.

  • All the words are in icelandic but somtimes the sentences dont make any sense

  • I love them....

    They are just sublime...

They make me feel like in heaven....

    So deep music... the sounds...

  • saw them live in 2000 in Holland, opening for Radiohead,,,saw them once again in 2002,,suburb band,,love their music,

  • this is one of their songs they sung in 'hoplandish'. it is basically gibberish that they made up which is sort of sounds like icelandic.

the title means good morning i think

  • @Fongfongmc: No this song is in Icelandic!

  • @nv821 yeah, this is in icelandic. it may not sound like it at first because of his falsetto voice, doesnt replicate the icelandic accent at first glance.

  • @nv821 yeh sorry your right i was thinking of the wrong song!

  • ME GUSTA EL ESTILO DE ESTE GRUPO

  • if anyone wants to know how to say anything in iceland feel free to ask me ;D

  • i wish i could understand the lyrics :)

  • what is lyrics haha :S

  • the words of the song ^^

  • they are not talking icelandic in this song :/

  • It is Icelandic

  • nope ... i life in iceland and i dont understand them

  • The lirycs are about the beauty of nature, the sun , the glaciers, forest ,etc.

  • @Progmandrake

If it would be sung by a dutch band it would be about the beauty of... cows, cheese n windmills <3

  • listen to this a lot of mornings when i wake up, the perfect start of the day, so peaceful and comforting :)

though it doesn't help me get out of bed when i need to hurry :P

  • This may be my favorite Sigur Rós song.

  • This video is on youtube.

  • lol

i was looking for something funny to answer, i didn't find better!! hehehe :)

  • @DAvonzoAllDay #FAIL

  • Lovely lyrics! The name of the song is "Good Morning" or literally "Good Day". The lyrics are mainly about the sun, it´s rays and... strangely enough, how they blow up light bulbs! It´s also about the sea and that it´s saltiness melts icebergs.

Nobody but Sigur Rós would think of such things!

  • the best music of the sigur rós ever

  • awesome song!

  • This was the 1st clip of the day on the AudioNeedle fan page on facebook. Become a fan and show your love for Sigur Ros. Simply log into facebook, search for AudioNeedle and become a fan..Ahhhhh this song is a brain massage

  • Listening to this song and watching the video is like being on a journey, a journey with nature all around you, watching your every move, anticipating what you're going to do next. Simply stunning.

  • whit years of listening music since black metal until pop/rock i can say that sigur ros is the most beautifull music ever made :D

  • @Progmandrake Without a doubt. I listen to everything from gangster rap to crust punk to folk metal, and Sigur Ros is the absolute best I've ever heard.

  • @Progmandrake you're right !!

  • @Progmandrake :) :) together with lil b :DD

  • The song is so beautifull that makes me cry, but not fo sadness, is for happiness of that beauty music.

  • ég elska þig

    ég sakna þín

    góðan daginn

that's pretty much all i know in icelandic and that's all i wish i could tell someone

  • i had to go and translate that and was very moved when i found out what it meant =)

  • so can you tell me what does it mean?=]

  • it's along the lines of

    I Love you

    I Miss you

    Good morning

  • actually i wanted to say "ég sakna þín ævinlega" which is i think "i'll miss you forever"

but i'm not sure about it so i remained simple!

any icelandic people who can correct this is welcome! :)

  • im icelandic it means "ég mun sakna þín alla tíð" ;D

  • you can say ég mun sakna þig alla ævi :D

  • Góðan Daginn means Good day or Good morning

  • why did you leave me? i love you.

  • Dear Patrick...

    Can't stop crying....

    REST IN PEACE

    where ever you are

    Claudia

  • Claudia, people who die are simply gone, like before they are born and thats the beauty of the universe, no need to start imagining pretenses, knowing that only enhances our ability to grief and respect life and death.

  • no not good morning its good day i know it i am icelandic

  • no not good morning its good day iam icelandic i know it

  • <3 :D

  • Just... PERFECT!

  • Góðan Daginn

    such a beautiful phrase.

How lucky we have their music.

  • Title of song mean ''Good morning'' So good morning every one, every morning :]

  • :] thanks!

  • Beauty in aural form. it truely is magical. See them live, they will mesmerise you :)

  • I have and they did :)

    Peace.

  • What do the audience do at their lives shows?

Sit down/ stand up? Sing along/stay silent? Nod their heads/ start a mosh pit?

I've always wondering, and I'm wondering the same thing for Radiohead as I'm seeing them soon. Thanks

  • *I've always wondered

  • I've seen Sigur Ros AND radiohead the same day, at the Main square festival, last year :)

Sigur Ros played first, and all the people did not know them (Radiohead was the main group). That's why the audience was very calm, they were discovering them, but I saw many smiles on their faces :)

Sure, when the singer makes solos, nobody moove. But when all the orchestra (trumpets, trombones, drums) plays, the audience wake up, even if we can't really dance on this kind of music

    (sorry for my english)

  • (In reply to mexou)

Sigur Ros is still opening for Radiohead??

Hmmm. Oh well, Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees, for a few gigs on tour.

~ Not that there's an exact correspondence in that analogy. :-)

  • To LDixon007 :

They were opening Radiohead at the "Kid A" Tour (9 years ago !) and Thom York still like very much their music.

Now I think they are quite independant haha, but a festival is a good opportunity to bring them together !

  • The show I saw, I looked back at the audience and it looked like everyone was hypnotized, standing still and listening attentively.

  • For Radiohead, it's quite different !

Most of the people are fans and the concert can become a real "collective trance" time...

"Paranoid android" can be the perfet exemple of what happens during a concert : an alternation between psychedelic melodies and kick-ass rock and roll !

It was a great concert and, as surprising it can be, Thom York has... much humour when he talks !

  • i saw them live, at the greek theatre. best show of my life.

    it it's a relaxing song, we'd sit.

if it was more intense, like glosoli, we'd stand.

either way, i felt amazing just watching them live.

  • lucky you, i wish i could go

it would be an experience I'll never forget

  • be loveing be kind, close your eyes ,see yourself standing among the great ancient forest ,watch the sunlight piercing through the canopy reaching the small shrubs that rest in the lap of the great oak and birch trees every liveing thing is taken care of-love and peace 2all

  • i close my eyes whit the song and watch a green plains whit the sky full of bubbles xD

  • wish that human could go along with nature....not destroying or being destroyed by it....

  • Being destroyed by nature is as natural as being born from it. Destroying nature with technology however is not.

  • yeah....those who born from nature will be back to the nature....ashes to ashes...dust to dust....

well...whatever we do to the nature...it would always had a consequent....

  • The nature is the only true thing in this world.

  • nature. and i think this connection to nature and this feeling of contentedness are the most important things in their music. most ppl listening feel it. and im glad i found this band. before listening to them i was always mad and stuff. but for some reason i just cant be mad at anyone anymore <: magic in their music... (sry for bad english)

  • haha muziek uit ijsland, opgenomen in ridderkerk

    goud

  • dirty

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Thanks to Sigur ros. and this song reminds me of Nature.

  • sigur ros is always what i load up before flying, best traveling music ever

  • This man speaks truth.

  • I second this notion.

  • I rarely listen to other music these days. They have music for all emotions. Glosolie, Svo Hjott, Saeglopur, et al are all musical/emotional anthems that are simply unmatched.

  • The universality of their music, being able to reach any person solely with their music despite language differences makes them the best band in the world in my opinion.

  • Flying across the Pacific, watching the sun set and rise in 3 hours; those glints of orange, yellow and green on the window. Pink clouds below, and that hum that lets you know you're soaring above the earth. That's Sigur Ros to me.

  • Cool. Soundz vaguely like Cocteau Twinz, but then they've done that before...

Hey, get this...what was the Cocteaux' guitarist called on their first album...?!

    - Robin GOTHrie. Hahaha.

It's lovely to hear Sigur Ros sound so...down-to-earth, here, and yet still magical...it'z sitting outside in summer at sunset, watching the golden light play thru the trees swaying gently in the breeze

  • Godspeed You!

  • I like to listen to this song while walking my dog in Somerset, England which is a very beautiful place. The song enhances the natural beauty around me and the countryside enhances the music. Its a divine duet! The two combine together to give me a feeling of profound contentment. Its good to see that I'm not the only one! The spiritual re-assurance I get from the sheer benevolence of this music staggers me. It restores my faith in humanity and myself. Now not another word. Who's up for a walk?!

  • Tom I too get a kind of spiritual response to their music- it seems a lot of people are feeling this from Sigur Ros. I think they have something incredible going on- the music is like Nature's songs!

I agree with what you said Ibanez

  • agree, it really seems like nature sings, like water, sky, earth, trees... and even air sing their songs. It doesn't sound like human... very beautiful!

  • Kocham te "uuuuu" :D I love "uuuuu" !! and guitar and just all Sigur

  • Lol... doesnt even remotely sound like a pink floyd tune unless you are a complete and utter tonedeaf retardo.... ;-)

  • A taste of heaven, as most of their work is. And you gotta love the fretboard sounds from the guitar.

  • Brilliant :)

You just cant beat Sigur Rós

  • Velyke vitannya z Ukrajiny))

    Sigur Ros we love you!

  • How do they do it? Absolute perfection.

Not an icy perfection, but a fiery perfection.

    Well, something like that. :-)

  • i remember the day when i board a plane leaving singapore for taiwan, and i was surprised to see the airlines entertainment system have this song. i knew abt this song way before the airline thing. it was a midnight flight and it was serene and calm. listening to this makes me want to go taiwan again. i miss taiwan and everytime i listen to this song, i will always dream of taiwan. :)

  • je traveille

  • This song never fails to strike a cord inside me and bring me to tears. The title may mean Good Morning, but there is such a sad beauty to the way it's sung and played that I can't help but cry.

  • the best song of new disc of Sigur ROS that Im listened until now

  • Intensely beautiful.

  • yeah...kinda

enough to give a taste to someone who hasn't had that state of mind.

  • i love this song

    makes me cry

    i dont know why

  • The song calms me and opens my eyes to the beauty around me. Makes me long for an Icelandic summer ...baretoed in the grass, sipping beer...enjoying the midnight sun and company of my closest friends.

  • cet endroit c'est le paradis <3

  • this was the first song i fell in love with on the new album.
