i remember the day when i board a plane leaving singapore for taiwan, and i was surprised to see the airlines entertainment system have this song. i knew abt this song way before the airline thing. it was a midnight flight and it was serene and calm. listening to this makes me want to go taiwan again. i miss taiwan and everytime i listen to this song, i will always dream of taiwan. :)
now, when i listen to this song, it reminds me of my train journey in India in 2010.
I litsen to alot of different bands and different kind of music, but when i turn sad, or just feel for the for beautifull music.. i turn to this band<3
Today I woke up, made some tea, listened to some Sigur Ros...now I'm in such a jovial mood! I wish more people could stop killing themselves and eachother and make peace...with both everybody AND their music, unlike that hip-hop and death-metal crap
I love metal and rock.. But my number one is definitely Sigur Ros, and of course Jonsi (Sigur's vocalist). Iceland is the most beautiful place on earth..
@IceTrey98c My biggest dream is to move to Iceland (when I'll grow up). I was there about two years ago, and now I can't stop thinking about it, really, everyday I'm dreaming about Iceland :D Iceland is addictive :D And the musicians from Iceland are real masters, of music and of happiness :D

@nv821 yeah, this is in icelandic. it may not sound like it at first because of his falsetto voice, doesnt replicate the icelandic accent at first glance.
Lovely lyrics! The name of the song is "Good Morning" or literally "Good Day". The lyrics are mainly about the sun, it´s rays and... strangely enough, how they blow up light bulbs! It´s also about the sea and that it´s saltiness melts icebergs.

@Progmandrake Without a doubt. I listen to everything from gangster rap to crust punk to folk metal, and Sigur Ros is the absolute best I've ever heard.
Claudia, people who die are simply gone, like before they are born and thats the beauty of the universe, no need to start imagining pretenses, knowing that only enhances our ability to grief and respect life and death.
I've seen Sigur Ros AND radiohead the same day, at the Main square festival, last year :)

It was a great concert and, as surprising it can be, Thom York has... much humour when he talks !

nature. and i think this connection to nature and this feeling of contentedness are the most important things in their music. most ppl listening feel it. and im glad i found this band. before listening to them i was always mad and stuff. but for some reason i just cant be mad at anyone anymore <: magic in their music... (sry for bad english)
I rarely listen to other music these days. They have music for all emotions. Glosolie, Svo Hjott, Saeglopur, et al are all musical/emotional anthems that are simply unmatched.
The universality of their music, being able to reach any person solely with their music despite language differences makes them the best band in the world in my opinion.
Flying across the Pacific, watching the sun set and rise in 3 hours; those glints of orange, yellow and green on the window. Pink clouds below, and that hum that lets you know you're soaring above the earth. That's Sigur Ros to me.
Cool. Soundz vaguely like Cocteau Twinz, but then they've done that before...
Hey, get this...what was the Cocteaux' guitarist called on their first album...?!
- Robin GOTHrie. Hahaha.
It's lovely to hear Sigur Ros sound so...down-to-earth, here, and yet still magical...it'z sitting outside in summer at sunset, watching the golden light play thru the trees swaying gently in the breeze
I like to listen to this song while walking my dog in Somerset, England which is a very beautiful place. The song enhances the natural beauty around me and the countryside enhances the music. Its a divine duet! The two combine together to give me a feeling of profound contentment. Its good to see that I'm not the only one! The spiritual re-assurance I get from the sheer benevolence of this music staggers me. It restores my faith in humanity and myself. Now not another word. Who's up for a walk?!
Tom I too get a kind of spiritual response to their music- it seems a lot of people are feeling this from Sigur Ros. I think they have something incredible going on- the music is like Nature's songs!
agree, it really seems like nature sings, like water, sky, earth, trees... and even air sing their songs. It doesn't sound like human... very beautiful!
i remember the day when i board a plane leaving singapore for taiwan, and i was surprised to see the airlines entertainment system have this song. i knew abt this song way before the airline thing. it was a midnight flight and it was serene and calm. listening to this makes me want to go taiwan again. i miss taiwan and everytime i listen to this song, i will always dream of taiwan. :)
This song never fails to strike a cord inside me and bring me to tears. The title may mean Good Morning, but there is such a sad beauty to the way it's sung and played that I can't help but cry.
The song calms me and opens my eyes to the beauty around me. Makes me long for an Icelandic summer ...baretoed in the grass, sipping beer...enjoying the midnight sun and company of my closest friends.
Make a wish. Quickly, before this moment ends, because sooner or later, you're going to feel sad again, and you'll need your wish.
Listening to this song, I feel like everything's going to be just fine.

The song calms me and opens my eyes to the beauty around me. Makes me long for an Icelandic summer ...baretoed in the grass, sipping beer...enjoying the midnight sun and company of my closest friends.

何回聞いてもSigur Rosは最高だな。風景と音楽がとても合っていて毎日見ていても飽きません。癒されます。
