This should be Top 5 "Metal" Bassists. I'm not saying this to be offensive however it's the truth that playing bass for Metal isn't as challenging as playing bass in other genres. Mainly because in Metal it's often the case that the Guitar is the more flamboyant instrument.

If this truly were the Top 5 Bassists you'd have to include Ray Brown, Stanley Clarke, Jeff Berlin, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooton, Mark King, Marcus Miller...etc.

*Just my opinion though.

You really can't say who is best to a certain extent that is dependent upon the person. But as far as skill goes, there are many better bassists that could easily play circles around this list . Maybe this should be your favorite bassists.
