  • I am sorry but basketcase come on, that is scary. a guy with a chainsaw in texas, a reverend that is good have to admit but no basketcase. scariest thing ever your half dwarf twin is killing people and your dreaming about it. In my opinion scariest movie ever. What about Christine, the car that kills and is indestructible. Can anyone find basketcase anywhere?

  • Jack Torrance anyone?

  • I find Leatherface from the original TCM to be way scarier. Also, Jack Torrance from The Shining. And Pinhead. But this is a really great character and performance.

  • This list if phail, Hannibal Lecter should be in the top 5 atleast.

  • A ghostly pedophile priest as the scariest thing ever? Figures.

    Thank God for mass histeria.

  • Henry Kane.

you know he had to have been Freddy Kruger's great-great grandfather.

  • Zelda from pet sematary should be on this list.....still creeps me out to this day

  • henry kane is the inspiration for Charles Montgomery Burns

  • Victor Pascow should be here also I think

  • Henry Kane is the crepiest horror icon that I know of. What creeped me out was the way he walk away and then he waved back and then he disappaered into thin air.

  • He is the most realistic character, that's what makes him so scary.

  • here's my top 10 that weren't on the list, that i think deserve an honorable mention 10. The Headless Horseman (Sleepy Hollow) 9. John Gray (The Body Snatcher) 8. Annie Wilkes (Misery) 7. Cherry Darling/Stuntman Mike (Grindhouse) 6. Zombies (Return of the Living Dead) 5. Dracula (Hammer Dracula series) 4. Dr. Frankenstein (Hammer Frankenstein series) 3. Eli (Let the Right One In) 2. The Gemini Killer (Exorcist III) 1. Coffin Joe (Coffin Joe series)
  • jeepers creepers saw and those lousy rob zombie flix pppppfffffffff

  • Spooky fellow but not the top icon of them all. Carpenter's Thing should be.

  • This guy is good and all, but most people would put him way down compared to others on the list. If you consider the Icons that have books that came before their movies, then Pennywise would EASILY be number 1. I'm not even being biased! If your smart enough to understand the whole book you'd understand. I've seen EVERY movie on this list and there'd be a HUGE change in my list. Not trying to sound mean, I'm just going by my own thoughts and feelings.

  • Catholic Church

  • Loving the unconventional choice.

Henry Kane was a great character.

  • Henry Kane,great choice.

  • Marvelous list! My order would be different but the characters would be the same. Well done!!

  • This guy would play THE BEST slender man

  • r u kidding me?! jason would floss his teeth with this guy!

  • @crazyshark8000 agreed

  • @MorbidHorrorMadness i mean jason would decapitate him amputate him disimbowel him and then floss his teeth with his spine!

  • @crazyshark8000 fuck yeah he would!!!

  • Thulsa Doom as a Mormon pedophile.

  • who is HENRY KANE>>>>>???

  • @TheGrizzzle What is Google>>>>?

  • poltergiest 2 is ok, but the 1st is so much better

  • Julian Beck (the actor who played Kane) was actually suffering from cancer during the filming (sadly, he died before it's release), which helped to add a truely creepy realism to his appearance and voice. I can't think of a better pick for top place, and I'm sure he'd say the same!

  • wow never heard of him

  • Regan MacNeil by far and anything else is just wrong and bad

  • I will say he is one of the scariest horror characters. But for an icon? He doesn't speak #1. In my opinion, either Jason Or Freddy. Or better yet, Michael Myers. He is the face of halloween. And Halloween is the night of Horror...

  • Kto to kurwa jest?

  • @amajacbrachl of course i have. I was speaking as someone who does not know the true him but his signature looks (hockey mask, machete etc) i know everything about jason. And exactly what you said! Hes the most iconic which is why he should be here instead of kane

  • I guess many people have said it, but man I can't figure out why he's nr. 1. We're talking about Icons here and I can agree that he belongs on the list but not nr. 1. He is not the first dude I think about when I think of horror. Other than that the list is great!

  • omg mr.rodgers on meth O.o

  • 1:49 was pretty creepy.

  • veronica darks must be #1 lmao

  • @AylaPersephone-U r SO right re.the late Julian Beck!! I'm an R.N. w/7yrs.experience in Hospice,& have by now actually lost count of the# of stomach ca.patients I've cared 4.One thing they ALL have in common is their suffering, which is horrible even w/powerful narcotics.HOW J.Beck EVER managed this,I will never know-but I applaud not only his talent. His courage and endurance are truly inspiring.

  • Man people need to lay off this guy, first of all it's fucking awesome that he chose Henry Kane! Yea it's really easy to pick Freddie or Jason or Michael Myers etc...but wait...are we talking Friday the 13th part 9?? Or Halloween part 5?? Get the point..all that shit gets corny and fucking stupid after a while, this guy had maybe 30 mins in 1 movie and it was creepy as hell. For the morons saying "I dont even know this guy", if u dont know the Poltergeist movies, then fuck off and go watch Jason

  • @ncj25 if you're too young to know about the Poltergeist films, or have never heard about this guy, then you don't need to comment on horror movie vids on youtube because you don't know enough to voice your stupid ass opinion. Thanks

  • Personally i love michael myers the best. But i doubt there is one person in the world who has not seen or heard of "that hockey mask guy" jason. A horror icon is someone who anyone can easily recognize. This guy should be number 30 or something. He has no signature mask or weapon or look. Bad choice my friend.

  • @0mrinsertname0 what? you have never heard of jason vorhees he is probably the most iconic horror movie killer ever next to freddy krueger and micheal myers

  • @0mrinsertname0 and by the way his signature weapon is the machete

  • Comment removed

  • Holy shit I watched this entire playlist and the entire time I was thinking "Where the hell is Kane from Poltergeist???" Bam! He's number one. All you haters need to calm down. This guy is the best horror villian EVER! The actor who played him, Julian Beck, was dying of stomach cancer and said he wanted to do one last project before he died, but the problem was he looked so incredibly sick and frail. But Brian Gibson thought he looked perfect for this insane Quaker, and he was right! Respect!

  • this is #1? a shit character from a SEQUEL that should have never been made. this list is called "icons" right? no one knows who this clown is so how is he an icon?

  • @07foxmulder You just don't know good movies.

  • @07foxmulder agreed

  • I don't deny these are good choices, but almost all of these are American slasher movies. There is quite a difference between horror and slasher films. Look into actual horror films like Ju-on, Kairo, or the Orphanage for icons too. There is far more to a movie than the 80s blood and gore fest...

  • @cttrickey I kinda agree, but not fully. I do think they should have mixed more horror characters. BTW...the #1 choice is soooooo wrong I don't even know who the hell that is. He seems creepy, but how many people remember him over Jason, Freddy, Meyers, Ghostface, Dracula, the demon inside the girl in the Exorcist, the Girl from the ring, etc.

  • @cttrickey yes because faceless ghosts are true icons of horror.

  • @07foxmulder Haha, I'm raging up a storm right now over the sarcastic remark. Future posters, please don't feed the troll...

  • ive seen atleast 5 Henry Kane's today

  • dude chuck norris should be first...

  • his teeth fucks me up

  • That guys smile is disturbing as hell. I forgot about him it wasn't untill I saw the girl I remembered what movie he was from.

  • Who the fuck is Henry Kane?

  • @Epikkfailyurr Try reading the description.

  • Fantastic list but I think it is missing the Puppets, the Werewolf & Dracula (not Orlok).

  • I completely respect you for placing Henry Kane at #1,

  • Good list. But i think Bateman (played by christian Bale) from American Psycho, and the killer from Scream should have made it in the list

  • @Highbudget the scream killer is on the list. it's number 49, ghostface killer.

  • @darkdemonseed Oh shit, i knew this would happen, i didnt look at the list hard enough

  • Henry Kane looks like Fred Phelps... making him an even more vicious hell spawned bastard than ever

  • @alexiaNBC Ha ha ha!! Good one.

  • i like how u went for a less obvious choice. at first, i thought it was a pretty odd choice, but then i realized i couldn't think of anyone scarier than him. but if i had to pick a #1 to match the creepiness of Henry Kane, I would probably have to go with Coffin Joe (from the Coffin Joe trilogy). he was terrifying back in the 60's, and it's pretty insane how a character so demented could be allowed back then

  • Looks like he has a great carreer as a vacuum cleaner door to door salesman

  • This guy gives me the creeps...he soooooo scary! >_>

  • Henry Kane is scary because he is simplistic and scary real. Without all the pizzaz, weapons, mask, and gore, if you believe in ghosts you just might see a Henry Kane.

  • wheres some people from 13 ghosts

  • You missed: Jonah (Dark Ride), Vincent Sinclair (The House of Wax), Jack the Ripper, (From Hell), Tiffany ( The Bride of Chucky) Henry Porter (Boogeryman 2) and The Gingerdead Man

  • Is this the best murderer? Go fuck the best wing should be Jason or Freddy

  • He's probably #1 because we can all think of at least one guy in real life that he's an absolute dead ringer for.

    Fred Phelps, for example.

  • I would rather say he's no 1 mysterious character

  • This guy gives me the "creeps"... an elderly (I think He has always been "old") Lawyer in my area look like him ( dressed all black suit and the black hat) Heard he had died.. I walked into the store and He was standing there with that creepy smile ... at over six feet tall He was Creepy in his own right ( He had a minor stroke.. not Died)

  • For me, #1 is: The Artist formerly known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger!

  • because i am smart and im your friend...now.. let me in

  • Great choice but were is Bela lugosi Dracula? or Christopher Lee Dracula? or lon chaney phantasm of the opera?

  • Although I didn't care much for Poltergeist 2, I do agree that Henry Kane is one of the more creepier villians. I'm actually really glad that you chose this one for number one instead of Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger or any of the mainstream villains. EVERYONE usually lists one of them for their number one. I like them, but it gets boring seeing them as picked the favorite time after time

  • @behindXblueXeyez Agreed. I was afraid Freddy would be number one. *yawn* Big wow. This villian actually required acting talent to bring to life. No makeup needed for this one.

  • Here's my Horrific Video Resolutions Top :

    N°1: 240p

(beside of that, excellent choice for putting Rev Kane on top!)

  • i like em in the cotton club where he plays a button man for dutch shultz

  • ive never seen or heard of this guy so how is he the number 1 horror icon.peaple hear about myers, jason, chucky, freddy but not this guy.:/

  • I bet Henry Kane was a Republican.

  • One icon that isn't on this list that I think should have been was Dracula.

  • @LaNoireNo1 Nosferatu

  • someone explain who is he?

  • @RobloxSugarFanta watch Poltergeist II: The Other Side

  • Him, along with the chauffer in burnt offerings, are the only two icons that have actually gave me nightmares. sooo scary!

  • "You can't keep her . . I AM NOT DAYEAD!"

  • Well, even though i've never heard of Henry Kane, excellent line up my friend, kept me goin til the very end indeed, Congrats on finishing this series ^^

  • This movie was awful, but OMG he was scary!!! I couldn't go in my basement for weeks after I saw it!! good #1 choice, most people overlook him.

  • what does he do anyway?

  • The Tall Man should have been number 2. He's more realistic, which makes him more creepy.

  • Now, I'll admit I had no idea who this guy was originally... but looking at this video, he seems shit your pants scary. No kidding.

  • he is...AMONG THE LIVING!

  • Oh man that guy is creepy, gave me sleeping trouble for a looooooonnggg time

  • ive never heard of this guy but very good choice. he is fuckin creepy!

  • @LouisHurler1 Rent Poltergiest 2. Rent 1, and 2. They're great. Skip 3. Part 3 is like a totally different , really bad movie. And I'm a HUGE 80s movie fan. But part 3 made me laugh. So it was good if you like bad movies. If you rent it, the funniest part is when the dude is frozen, flys out of the pool, runs, and smacks himself into the sliding glass door (part 3). They didn't mean for it to be funny, but it was hilarious.

  • What a fabulous choice.

  • Best countdown series I've seen. Some characters that I'd have on my list would be:

The Puppets from The Puppet Master series

    Angela from Sleepaway Camp

    Damien from The Omen

  • Comment removed

  • It was gutsy but the right choice for #1. This guy gave me nightmares as a kid.

  • they picked the right guy to play that part, julian beck was absolutely creepy, the one that played in the third poltergeist(nathan davis) wasn't nearly as creepy as julian....it gets my vote...i had nightmares about it myself.....

  • Why should this be number 1 its a 15

  • #1 should be the women in black hands down she is way scarier

    but kane a close 2nd

  • is he not the voice of th vicar in wallace and gromit: curse of the wererabbit? lol i just thought hey sounded smilar

  • i would agree that Henry Kane is at least in the top 5 for the greatest horror villains but i would think someone more popular would be no. 1 for the most iconic horror villain

  • too bad pinhead ended 12th :(, but creepy old men are more 'realistic' monsters XD

  • COOOOOOME WITHHH MEEEE!!!!! damn thats scary shit. amazing actor and so close to his own end. talent doesnt fade.

  • Iwatched this and this old fuck gave me nightmares!

  • @DigitalPh33rson thats because 33 people only like the predicatble choices. don't get me wrong, i'm a major jason fan, but i rather saw an unpredictable and original icon on the list than just seeing michal or leatherface being number 1 again. boring!

  • THANKS FOR ALL, PLEASE TOP 100!!!

  • As characters alone, the likes of Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger really aren't that scary. I think Pennywise deserves the #2 spot. Henry Kane is an excellent choice for #1 though, I don't care what anybody else says...

  • who the fuck is this guy?

  • I had hoped to see Christine (the evil car) on the list.

  • not a good position for this guy

  • @TheSpringwoodSlasher ALSO noteable Characters is the Children on Children of the Corn ANNNNNDDDD you remember that little boy on Cabin Fever that sits on the porch then does that karate kick? OHHHH And Killer Clowns from Outer Space, ANDDDD those freaks from Basket Case. All worth a mention. Does Cujo count? Holy shit I watch to many movies =/ That old lady from Dead Silence Amanda from Saw deserved her own slot. Maybe extend the countdown a little or make bonus clips?

  • @TheSpringwoodSlasher I just watched your ENTIRE countdown, every video was amazingly edited and well put together, and you didn't disrespect Halloween by acknowledging what Rob Zombie did. But honestly, the Thir13en Ghosts should have been there, somewhere in between Leprechauns and Behind Haute Tension. Just my opinion. Thanks for a good 2 hours of entertainment <3

  • I meant where is. Lol

  • Where us Fred Phelps from Westbro Baptist Church? He should definitely be number 1.

  • I can't say I agree with the top pick but hey, it's all just opinions in the end anyway. Personally I hadn't even heard of this guy (or I've simply forgotten him) which surprises me given that I grew up during the 80's. I guess I'll have to pick this one up sometime.

  • Oh god, he's like the flesh incarnation of pedobear...

  • @bennie628 just because you never heard of him, doesn't make it a horrible choice. you should see more horrorfilms. this guy is fucking creepy and putting him at no 1 is the pure genius

  • @darkdemonseed wrong Michael Myers was more then creepy he's pure evil and the right #1

  • where is bram stoker's dracula?

  • Mr Burns?!?

  • creeeppyy

  • I love the fact that he (Kane) and Sid Haig (Capt.Spaulding) are someone's grandparents!

  • you forgot victor crowley. he is psycho as fuck.

  • @ciyoduhkriter Crowley is a freaking jason ripoff

  • Freddy vs Henry Kane - Freddy by rape.

  • it also depends on what scares the person more. Ghosts or murderers or monsters or Aliens ect. ect.

Ghosts are not scary, and Henry Cane sucks!

  • Comment removed

  • @TakedownArmbar

"It also depends on what scares a person more, Ghosts or murderers or monsters or Aliens ect. ect."

You had me at this, why couldn't you just say this at the beginning?

  • @DylanTheVillyn cuz nothing scares me except God.

  • @TakedownArmbar

No wonder your imposing your will on others your a religious zealot.

  • @DylanTheVillyn and ur a pussy who hides under the covers with his mommy when watching basket case.

  • @DylanTheVillyn BTW CLOCKWORK ORANGE IS A SCI FI FILM, NOT IN THE HORROR CATERGORY. THANKS FOR PLAYING.

  • @TakedownArmbar

It's not SCIENCE FICTION, thanks for proving your ignorance, it says in the near future in its description but that is not the case now nor would it make it science fiction dumb ass.

  • @DylanTheVillyn MOTHERFUCKER DO U KNOW WHAT MYERS WOULD FUCKIN DO OTHAT FAGGOT FROM CLOCKWORK? HE'D MAKE HIM CHOKE ON HA LLOWEEN DICK THROUGH HIS ASS.

I HAD TO DISS CLOCKWORK, AND IT IS LISTED AS SCI-FI, WIKI IT BITCH.

GO WATCH BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER FAGGOT.

    RAWHEAD REX FTW!!!!

  • @TakedownArmbar

Watch the movie and then talk about it, don't make assumptions, the movie was released in 1971 and it was based in about the 80's, it is now 2011 and being as how the movie had only that sci fi element of being futuristic, it has to change its genre to mystery. Oh and by the way anything that you ever say is always going to be wrong, forever, because your a moron. You Fail troll.

  • @DylanTheVillyn Nigga, u like watching grown ass men run around naked with make-up on???

    ok...

I like motherfuckers stabbing shit to death, now go jerk off to Caroline.

  • @TakedownArmbar

    Masochist.

  • @DylanTheVillyn i win.

  • @TakedownArmbar

You will never not fail at not winning. That should confuse you long enough for you to lose interest. Fail troll failing.

  • @DylanTheVillyn u think being emo and not having any friends makes u smarter then me? haha

  • @TakedownArmbar

I'm getting tired of winning this argument, you have no evidence of me being emo or not having friends, fail troll just fail. Your just mad because I'm not giving in to your retarded logic of you being right because it came out of your mouth. FAIL.

  • @DylanTheVillyn I'm gonna be the bigger man and walk away... btw I don't know wtf u were arguing about, Clockword was a Sci-Fi, not Horror, this is top 50 horror. I was just talking, u foaming at the mouth isn't my fault.

    PUMPKINHEAD!!

  • @TakedownArmbar

If you were the bigger man then you would admit that you were wrong to have insulted everyone elses opinion, but go on being a troll and ignore all logic that goes against your own. I will be the bigger man and be the one to tell you that you are incorrect and that you can't bulldoze your way over me, because I can be just as bullheaded as you, I promise you that much.

I apologize to everyone who had to read his comments while searching the comments for something worthwhile.

  • WTF AT 1:52

  • This guy should be off the lit, number 1?? haha, I bet the fuckin guy who made this video made that gay ass movie too.

    Myers is #1.

  • @TakedownArmbar you are so immature..it's his list...not yours...people have their own oppinions you know?...

  • @zzkzion10009 Everyone in the horror business knows the top 3 pound for pound best Icons, it's between Freddy, Jason and Myers, those are always top 3, u can rearange them however you like.

    Myers

    Freddy

    Jason

    IMO.

  • @TakedownArmbar

No, Freddy, Jason, and Myers have turned cheesy and are no longer scary only the originals movies were scary.

Also, how would you know what everyone in the horror business knows/thinks anyway? I seriously doubt that your more than one person so as to be the entire business or are even involved.

  • @DylanTheVillyn Ur saying Rob Zombies Halloween remake was cheesy?? GTFO meng. I talk to mad people in my life, when horror movies are brought up, we all pay homage to the KING PINS!! JASON/FREDDY/MYERS.....

Jason vs Freddy was the shit too, so wan't the new Nightmare on Elm street.

    If u agree THUMBS UP!!!

  • @TakedownArmbar

Blood and gore doesn't mean fear, how old are you seven? Also I never said that they started out cheesy, a bad sequel or two ruined them, the originals were very scary especially Halloween but I would hardly say Kingpins, the best ones were the single films that could not be ruined by another film. Remakes do nothing for me, and don't you dare impose your opinion and speak of them as fact, but that is just my opinion. You want a REALLY scary movie look up the freaks

  • @DylanTheVillyn I'm a grown ass man, I don't watch movies to be scared, I watch them to see people get fucked up. When Myers chokes a bitch, lifts her 7 feet in the air and pins her to the wall like a poster, thats awesome. When Freddy rips off Destineys Child's nose, balla, when Jason punches some black guys head off with one punch, brutal. Thats what everyone likes. There are 2 different films, Slashers and real horrors. Kane was a horror guy, not a Slasher. He was unique, but not badass.

  • @TakedownArmbar

Then your missing the point of watching a HORROR movie then aren't you? Horror films are intended to scare, slashers are meant to just be gory fun to watch, and this list is supposed to be HORROR icons. As far as slashers go Freddy, Jason, and Myers ARE kingpins but you have to realize the difference between the two. Horror and Slasher are not the same thing.

  • @DylanTheVillyn they're all horrors, there are different types of horror movies. You're saying Haloween wasn't a horror???

Also Henry Cane appeared in 1 fuckin movie..... Fuck that guy, he's not even scary he looks like a Pedophile. Jigsaw from SAW was 100 times better then Henry Kane.

Who do u think is number 1?

  • @TakedownArmbar

Have you not even been reading my comments? I have already said multiple times that Halloween the original WAS scary! Jigsaw was also scary, I made no comment about him nor did I say that Henry Kane deserved the spot of number one.

    Number one to me?

    1. Alex - A Clockwork Orange, he was a realistic psycho, and I enjoy that, but this is my opinion and I doubt anyone would agree with me.

  • @DylanTheVillyn but its not a horror movie

  • @TakedownArmbar

Also, if your argument is that Henry Kane only appeared in one movie, does that matter? Is your idea of scary seeing the bad guy alot? It's clear that you believe in quantity over quality.
