  • Snoop Dogg ft.Dramatics Ballin

  • Whether this song is about drugs or unhealthy relationships ...........when "you're caught up " ........it's hard ,but not impossible to free yourself !!!!!! I know that some will debate this and we're all entitled to our opinions ,but The Dramatics, overall ......were just as talented or better than The Temptations !!!!!!!!

  • Simply the best. It has been years since I last heard this song. Forgot how good it is. Thank you for posting.

  • Dolphins Head Coach Sparano sent out a spirited message to Dolfans-He said he needs you all at the stadium 2REPRESENT &that the team needs your support &undying loyalty-He finished up with-We're going to get there (GET THERE-WHERE? • Oh my goodness!!!!! This is such a smooth tune!!!!! Their (The Dramatics) voices are phenominal!!!! Talk about precision, preciseness, and perfection in each one of their voices!!!!! Im in love with their voices...Im in love with this song! Thanks so much for posting this masterpiece!****

  • @Cleopatra1985 You are so right, Cleopatra. I consider the Dramatics to be the best singing vocal group in my lifetime! You have hit it -- precise, perfection, flawless singing! Check out their live version of Me and Mrs. Jones on YT, the clip from Soul Train. I consider that the best vocal performance I've ever heard, ever. The way Ron weaves his falsetto in and out of the mix, and LJ's powerful leads, plus the other guys little lead bits are just sensational.

  • @calwaite Thanks for the suggestion calwaite! I did look up the live version of Me and Mrs. Jones from the Soul Train clip. All I can say, is that their version gave me the chills.*** You are absolutely right each one had such moving tones in their voices, each one of them sung so differently yet their voices combined in such a beautiful melodic way.**** Their voices really are the finest.******

  • Great intro to this song!

  • Hey we never looked at the cover we looked on the back for the song we w3anted and bought it

  • some nice classic old school music. i probably wouldn't have listened to this song if it wasn't for Snoop though

  • @FSU3787 me too lol.. snoop put me down with em but now i love these guys...

  • "Falling, falling, falling"

I've always found that part to be so slick with the falsetto.

  • Is "I think that I have FELL for you" gramatically correct? Still love the song though.

  • Has anyone noticed the is a pic of a tangled up devil...satan is caught up..entangled...could be religious..

  • I was a sign defeating the devil not celebrating him.

  • SNOOP!

  • T

hey had a flair for the Dramatics ...That devilish creature reminds me of their song" The Devil is Dope"

  • yay..no one not likes this video..this song is the bombdiggity:)

  • please do not dislike this video. for once!

  • THIS was my favorite! I was in love for sure ! August, 1974.

  • I really like this song's structure. I like the "drum march" you hear in the intro and towards the end when they sing "down, down, down I go..." The song has musical twists and turns which I like. It's a little different from the Dramatics usual songs and it doesn't have the typical "baby, baby, baby give me your love" groove so characteristic of R&B. It's a unique novelty song and doesn't really sound like a hit, but the writer wasn't afraid to take a risk in the name of art. Well done.

  • @vidform hey have you heard the other version i love it

    ?

  • this is such a beautiful song the industry probably insisted on on this cover of well thank God most of us are spiritual individuals with some

God awareness i couldnt remember how to spell concuiouness

  • classic

  • THAT IS SOME GOOD MUSIC

  • I Love This Song.!

  • awesome group, never ever will there be music like this again!!

  • dramatics, enchantment, and whispers were the best groups ever in the the game it feels good to listen to music that really has meaning and touches the soul so deep that freakin L.J reynolds is the man that kat got a voice out of this world so toast to the fools who ever on em

  • classic love song a very good love song, this is when music was music not the garbage we hear today, this was a real and true long song

  • i can't seem to get enough of this song!

  • the last time i herd this song i was 16 and i looked for it my whole life .i found it today and i feel like i am dreaming,it takes me so far bac,and i am spinning around in my chair, because i feel so young and free again, thanks to the one who still knows real music .you just dont know what this song does for and to me.

    ;)

  • @comonlaflo @I hear ya on this one, I feel the same way good music brings back good memories!

  • What is the message behind this cover?

  • The album cover's meaning is really interesting. The devil is known as the "puppet master" and once looking at the cover it seems as if he got caught in his own strings and is "crucified" to his own symbolism, the pitchfork, as to resemble Jesus with the cross. To summarize it all, the devil became the prey of his own act and is stuck in suffering. As stringsofserenyti said...the Dramatics are truely dramatic.

  • @Konscience13th RIGHT!

  • nastep1994 I know man I love that song Beautiful People too I wish some one would put it on youtube

  • If you really listened to the whole concept of this album, you'd understand that satanic album cover. "The Devil is Dope", "Beware of the Man with the Candy in His Hand" and " Jim, What's QWrong with Him" all speak of the emerging dark, demonic power of drugs in our neighborhoods, and the cover is very apropriate and the message was way ahead of its time. Kudos, but my favorite song on the Ablum is 'Beautiful People". So for those of you who don't know, now you know!!

  • @nastep1994 Thank you for knowing what this album is all about, I was going to post the meaning but you beat me to it. This to me was one of their best albums. Yes this was way ahead of its time. Love this song

  • @jae2210 go to google and type in soulful detroit tony hester

  • @nastep1994 Their songwriter was a drug addict these songs came out of his addiction.

  • @nastep1994 GOT IT!

  • This has been one of my all-time favorite songs since the first time I heard it in 1976! Thank you so much for sharing.

  • dis is sum stuft

  • DOLPHiN FANS N0T 1 D0LPHiN PLAYER iS 0N @ChadHenne TWiTTER ACCT-DATS VERY SELFISH-BUT HE HAS 1 FRiEND & 51 0THER GUYS MUST KiSS HiS ASS-WHY

  • this used 2 b me & my husbands song..... :( i miss those days, i used 2 listen 2 it when i went 2 bed & he wasnt there...... on repeat! good song 2 sleep 2.....goodnite

  • reminds me of 1994, I used to play this song all the time!

    I was 18

  • this is the anthem!

  • I have not heared this in years , Thanks .

  • I agree with the medifor of the devil being drugs the dramtics all liked to do heroin

  • dope ass song

  • If you'll notice...the devil is TIED UP! And on this album is a song called "The Devil is Dope", along with two other songs "Jim, what’s wrong with him?" and "Beware Of The Man (With the Candy in his Hand)"...all songs that relate to the evils of drugs...the devil is a metaphor for drugs on this album.

  • @MsTexas73 Thank God someone else got the "Message oin the music" as the old O'Jays album reiterates. Tony Hester wrote most of the songs on 'A Dramatic Experience" and personally, I can truly relate. "Satan is his name, from hell he came. Some call him Lucifer. He hides his horns in many different forms, but still is Lucifer".

This is the whole theme and I aplaud you for "gettin' it>

  • @nastep1994 Dig it!

  • @nastep1994 yes almost all the songs were about his addiction. even the love songs were a metaphor for his addictions.

  • Does anyone have any real proof of this Illuminati or is this just someone who wanted to a try in show business and is just trying to get revenge because he or she was not accepted?

  • KANYE SAMPLED THIS U KNOW

  • @NilsvdHoeven what song did that wannbe put this classic song in?

  • @ChicanoTattooArt Jay-Z - Fallin' (I believe Kanye sampled it) Kanye aint a wannabe in my opinion. Actually, I think he's very authentic & makes great music.

  • u know dis is my jam rite here brings back memories

  • dude serious i never thought it was about the devil falling when God cut his wings damnn thats crazy

  • This song brings back great memories...Love it!!

  • 1973's A Dramatic Experience seems to split the difference between a concept album dealing with the evils of drugs and polished, well-arranged ballads and dance tracks. Quiet as it was kept, this album has two different lineups and as William Howard and Elbert Wilkins departed, L.J. Reynolds and Lenny Mayes replaced them. The majority of the concept side of A Dramatic Experience is marred by a heavy hand. "The Devil Is Dope" has lead singer William "Wee Gee" Howard's David Ruffin-derive

  • HA! Nas sampled this!

  • @MoNicholasLaird for real? what track?

  • next too the tempts....the dramatics..were the best....ron did too dramatics what eddie did for the tempts..ron banks,,,eddie was the best..

  • The orchestral arrangements and production of old school music had so much class and a special dignity about it, something that today's so called hip-hop music can't even compare to. Sure, all music is evolutionary, but it seems as though it completely stoped when it got to this current stage and began to regress. It just goes to show that all this--- RAP--- (Repulsive And Pathetic) has caused many to start "circling the drains"

  • Yes! I think ur right, they r singing about drugs! I just listened to the lyrics very closely and it all makes sense, that is why the Album Cover looks the way it does, cause he's enslaved to heroin, but as a child i didn understand it.... I thought they were singing about some women who he had fell for. Ty for ur respond.

  • Hell is very evident that the Illuminati had their hands in the music business even then.. SMDH!!!!

  • @negie78000 U r sooooooo right!!!

  • @negie78000 i dont mean to argue your point but have you seen the cover? its the devil tied up by his own puppet string. Also, not anyone who has had success and has something pertaining to the devil is illuminati. i mean people can be successful without "selling" their soul which in itself is stupid considering your soul is the very essence of God. That last part was directed at all those who go through videos pinning everything to the illuminati.

  • @skriblenos U SHOULDNOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY ITS COVER. THIS IS AN AWESOME ALBUM MY FRIEND.

  • The name of the album is The Devil Is Dope, good depiction I think, listen to the song and you'll know why that pic is there!

  • Hell! The Illuminati had their hands in the music business even then.. They could have just put the Dramatics on the album cover that would have been much much better.. I still love the hell out of this song.. The Illuminati can't take that away from me..

  • @negie78000

Ummm...The CD Cover is for a song of their's called The Devil is Dope.

  • @negie78000 what the fuck you talkin about the illuminati. fear got you living in hiding

  • @molecularash Please don't comment back my mom and i share accounts because she doesn't want to make her own and i don't want replies from any vids my mother comnted on

  • @negie78000 Since i was a little girl i have always thought they were singing about a women. So are you saying they are singing about the Devil??? (Fell for you) I think u might be right!

  • @annetteromer. If you will remember Drugs were very popular then, 2 songs on this album is indirect speaking about drugs, Jim what is wrong with him, Beware of the Man with the candy in his hands. Heroin was the drug of choice in Detroit back in the early 1970's especially when this song came out around 1973-74. Heroin was shot up in the arm or through a vein. I am wondering if they are talking about getting high.

  • @negie78000 I wonder did they know what they were singing about and who they were singing to? and did they have a clue that it might be the Devil?

  • @annetteromer. The album has 3 songs that deals with dope and the devil: The devil is dope, Jim what's wrong with Jim, and beware of the man with the candy in his hands, are three records that reveal what this album is all about. The movie Dead Presidents introduces "heroin" as a popular drug of choices for many returning home from Vietnam. Heroin then was like Crack in the late 80's. The Dramatics were from Detroit and was affected in part by Heroin as most young adults in this age group.

  • @negie78000 how did the illuminati take control of their music? the album cover is disrespect to the devil because on the song "the devil is dope" they are talking about the evils in the world.....just because there is a picture of satan doesnt mean they are satanic

  • @negie78000 NOT TRUE. The Dramatic's songwriter Tony Hester struggled with bad addiction that resulted in his murder. He had oppurtunities to produce people like Barbara Streisand but his habit was too strong. The songs were his way of adressing the ills of addiction that he could not shake. I though it odd at first to hear the songs and see the album till I found out.

  • @taylor4660 oh man i never knew....what a terrible picture i was wondering.

  • @taylor4660 Thanks for this bit of history, I tell you there is so much love, hurt, pain, frustration, and yet we rise. No angry "Black Woman" here just loving every memory of what I just described. Life is good, I am addicted to life.

  • Jay-z Fallin' American Gangster

  • wow i woud have never thought this was an album cover for the dramatics

  • THE BEST OF ALL TIMES,LISTEN 2 RON,RJ,LENNY,WILLIE&SQUIRREL/THE BEST

  • thank u so much i really did enjoy that song this time.miss.p from texas city texas.

  • crazy art work...

  • I LOVE THE ART!!!!!

it was made just 4 the song. wen the devil fell frum heaven he lost his wings, and his skin. so in the song it said "u clipped my wings" so he no longer has wings. n wen u fall 2 fast to the earth u could actually loe your skin. PLUS THIS WAS A HUGE HIT.

  • @sowhatbitch103 Great Info Thanks

  • I dont get this group

  • one of the hits on this album is entitled the devil is dope it is about the degradation of drug use which makes the cover albeit gruesom apropos

  • RIP Mighty GOD will be waiting for you

  • RIP Mr Ron Banks...

  • Hey um original poster of this fab song, no offense but, what up wit the pic of the devil?

    LOL damn shame...

    This is a good song!

  • ok I guess I typed to soon before I read your comment on it. sorry my bad :)

  • I heard this on Sirius - and I just love it....if I had the resources, I'd love to make a video of it - I'd like the Black Eyed Peas to sing it, very similar!!!!

  • i went back & did some research & yeah its one of the dramatics album covers ..=)im stil unsure of the motivation behind it except the fact that they are truely DRAMATIC!!

  • It is the rear of the album cover. If you search for: "Hey you get off my mountain", you will see the front cover. The album is called " A Dramatic Experience " the font is just as gruesome.

  • @stringsofserenyti I think the album cover represent a man enslaved to Love... or it may represent that the group may have sold their soul to the Devil for frame and money.

  • @annetteromer the devil is dope is why its there,,,its abt negativity of drugs....no man in music sells their soul to the devil literally, its the greedy corporation that shows as its metaphor.

  • @annetteromer. Neither, Drugs were becoming big in Detroit in the early 1970's. Heroin was big and there were a lot of people being hooked on it. The song actually is Christological: It speaks more on the cunning of the Devil and how the devil lures people into traps. Look at the other two songs on the album "JIm what's wrong with him, and Beware of the man with the candy in his hand.

I grew up in a home filled with Heroin (dope house) back then. These songs had a lot of meaning back then.

  • @stringsofserenyti The album was titled: THE DEVIL IS A DOPE

That was the reason for this picture that was inside the album cover. The back of the album had another picture. There was also a song on the album with the same title.

  • @checkin4 ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... =)

  • @stringsofserenyti - the cover is for the song "The devil is dope" - The writer of that song and many of The Dramatics hits had a ongoing battle with heroin addiction and therefor wrote a few songs about it such as "Beware of the Man with the Candy in his hand"

  • oh this is my jam! oh my god!! i do not wanna call himmmmmmmmm omg !! im one of those woman that are conected ta her feeling more than most & music inites my soul exspecialy oldies its thats real sh..... not like that any moe yall help me lol thnx 4 poasting .. one love brb let me click repeat!

  • wow. this song takes me back to old school, what wonderful memories i have when i listen to this song. they just don't make music like this anymore, I woke up this morning sing that song in my head.

  • whats up with the satanic pic..besides that i love this song!

  • @margaritavlog yeah really... i was trying ta make the connection between it & the song- like when satan fell from heaven? lol iduno maybe its the album cover ???bu one of my favorite songs by them!

  • yea when i listen to the song carefully it sounds like the story of lucifer falling from the heavens when god kicked him out of heaven..maybe im crazy but listen carefully

  • Good Lord that CD cover is Satanic. Can someone post this with a different cover, like just a photo of the Dramatics?

  • Other side of cover is just as gruesome, so I guess you will have to close your eyes and just enjoy the music

  • great song

  • @hsp100 i was feeling really sad today and i came in to give my song a listen when i say this,it really made me laugh, but it is so very true, just a cover.not the song:)

  • LOL! That is just what I did. Played the song last night about 20 times in a row, but I had to scroll down until I could not see the cover. I almost did not play the song. Is there a greatest hits CD? This is my favorite Dramatics song, but help a sista out!

  • @pammturner The premise of the album cover and the message was "the devil is dope"...it was a message that dope kills. The satanic was and is drugs!

  • @Scobey19 Thank you for the explanation. As a child it didn't bother me at all but to see if again a few months ago, I was so disturbed I couldn't even look at the cover. I eventually just stopped playing the song I was so grieved. Thank you again, because I truly LOVE this song.

  • @pammturner GO look at a group called cannible corps. n then come look at this

  • WoW! Thanks for the posting. I'm falling, down down down....what?.....his kisses made me dizzy in the head lol.
