Many don't know but BEA ARTHUR (Dorothy of Golden Girls) was considered and even audition for the role of Ursula!

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the, or know if there is any, signifigance between "Flotsam and Jetsam" in the little mermaid and the chapter of "Flotsam and Jetsam" in Tolkien's "The Two Towers?"

Flotsam is floating wreckage of a ship or its cargo and jetsam is any part of cargo thats thrown overboard in order to make a ship lighter. Its just a coincidence that both used the same term. :)

The Little Mermaid was always one of my favorite movies when I was younger. It still is.

Ursula always used to scare me to death. I would purposely fast forward through certain parts cause it creeped me out to much.

Actually Ursula is based (to my understanding) on Cyclona (Robert Legoretta) an underground East L.A. Chicano Queer artist and not divine. John Waters got the idea of Divine from Cyclona's activities during the Chicano art movement.
