Its drivetrain is rwd, like the supra! and its not just a subaru engine. its the boxer engine with toyotas D4-S direct and port injection system. Plus toyota is already considering maker a supercharged version creating 250+hp. The car is bitchin, so quit arguing and bask in it glory! hahah

To those of you that are bickering its a Toyota 86 in japan, scion FR-S in america and Subaru BRZ in both places. Don't say its just a celica, because then you sound stupid. This car was based off the AE-86, hence the japenese 86 name. But its most like a combo of supra and celica in modern terms. Seeing as it has output of 200hp at 7000rpm, where as the celica gt-s from 2005 was 180hp @ 7600 rpm. Torque is around 150 and 130 respectively. But the drivetrain is completely different!

wow, bickerin like a couple old ladies. the fr-s and gt-86 differences are extremely subtle. gt-86 has fog lights where the fr-s doesnt. and the interior in the gt-86 has red trim on the steering wheel and emergency brake. between the subaru brz and the toyota/scion. the subaru has different front and rear bumpers. and a different rear trunk lid. other than that. its all badges.

sounds like alot of understeer there for what its doing, even during throttle lift. if thats indicative of the production version i can envisage ALOT of people swapping to slightly stickier tires on the front compared to the back.

Sounds like a boxer engine with an equal length header. I like it! Hopefully it wont be cheap enough that a lot of young people buy them, wreck em and make insuring one expensive for every age bracket.

Heard they wanted this FR-S to be a drifter type car. Look for a lot of cheap stuff! No leather seats; no nice console like in carbon fiber, alumium, brush steel, etc.. Only plastic like that of the first year or two Camaro; junky looking inside. Motor is suppose to be a 2.0 liter that cracks out around 200 hp. In a 6 spd trans - 0-60 somewhere between 6 -8 seconds. Auto 9-10 seconds.

@HW2800 there are a lot of expensive sportscars. they want to make a affordable sportscar. i just hope they do a ~350hp-version. the acceleration is good, i heard about 6 seconds (who choses auto?). but the top speed of ~230kph / ~145mph is too low for me. i hate too be forced to leave the left lane because im "only" driving 200-220 :-/
