Why is it when asked what their favorite FPS is, no one ever says "STALKER?" Or like 1% of the gaming community. It really is THE best. Even better than Fallout 3/New Vegas (which are technically RPS, as is Borderlands). My very first Doom was on Sega 32X. It's generally regarded as the worst version, but it was my first so I was enraptured by it. Also, if you play with a trackball (like me), if you take the ball out, your character will look straight up and spin around.

I would say that I like my way of playing FPSs . . .

I go for it, invade alone, many times by the "front door", dodge what I can, kill as much as I can (sometimes nothing, sometimes entire team twice :P) then I die.

I also know I die much more often than a sniper but, omg, I dont see the fun of sniping :/ for me, dodge and hunting skills, what sometimes mean to make a trap somewhere to hunt someone or to find a way to take a sniper going unseen by the enemy.

My first fps was wolfenstein than doom, played first doom game on my SNES. Of all fps games I play doom mainly, Halo 3, and COD WaW zombie modes. As for playing online multiplayer, I hold my own online just need to keep up the playing to stay sharp.

Heres a few more tips they didnt post if your new to fps u should get a game that has a story mode or campaign and play the game through out its skill modes easy,hard,u have no life,some of the new games have brought back horde mode or firefight witch puts against bots witch is similar to pvp usualy these modes will have specific maps or areas in witch you will battel.if you do these things first you will get a feel for the mechanics for fps so try out these tips b4 match making or PVP& have fun

They forgot another vital thing. If you're trying to snipe, or using a time-sensitive weapon, such as a lever-action rifle or such, don't spend too much time trying to aim for the head. The more time you spend, the more time the enemy has to get to cover, as well as fire back.

Pop off a shot, correct your aim later. And be sure to aim about chest or head level at all times. Height of the shot is more important than trying to aim for headshots.

Stay the HELL out of Counterstrike. Everyone there has been playing for nearly a decade now. They know everything about the game--and the game is completely unforgiving. You screw up, you die, and you wait until the round's over. Start off with something easier--and newer.

Advice for snipers. Make sure youre hidden before you fire and try to fire only when you have a clear shot. If you miss then hide or move because if they see your shot or know where the shot came from they will send up the alarm. Also, Stopping Power works wonders. Good Luck!
