  • where is it?

  • To paulfbest - if the falcon was left to the wild it would kill far more prey than in the controlling hands of the falconer. A point worth remembering with this particular form of hunting... Alas there will always be those who cannot accept that predators exist in nature and are an essential part of it. And that includes man.

  • Falconry=very cool! I looked into it once, but you have to be VERY dedicated to the birds and apprentice for a while before you can get a license. Thanks for sharing the video!

  • i agree with the poster that feels this sort of *fun* shows how low mankind can go..just leave the falcons to the wild nature,,,human manipulation is evil and is sin.

man always has to intrude on nature,,ALWAYS...now the planet is dying quickly.

  • So which is it, a gyrfalcon or a peregrine?

  • @prjibaro1 Sorry, I should have looked a bit closer (hybrid) before I asked.

  • Please tell me you actually ate this duck and don't simply kill for "sport"?

  • I'm sure they did eat the duck, but really, does the duck know if its being hunted for sport or to be eaten, so its a kind of futile comment to make

  • There's a Paragliding company in Nepal that teach abandon Falcon and Hawk chics to find Thermals for them in-flight. You might disagree with using them to hunt but flying is what I think they like most and they're sure born to it.

  • just for sport eh??? they are predator in the wild.. but with human they dumb bird with animal acting owner.

  • your sentence doesn't make any sense... LOL

  • a bird getting used by low class animal

  • A little falconry knowledge, 75% of all hatched raptors die their first year in the wild. By taking a wild bird or raising one in captivity you increase their chance of survival tremendously. These are not generally tame birds, they are wild creatures that hunt just like this naturally. Humans to them are nothing but bush beaters. Wild raptors do the same thing with machinery and tractors, they follow them and wait for them to kick up food. No different here.

  • have you thought where your chicken or burger comes from? No you didn't because it comes in a pretty package, well natural predators and us before we had supermarket have to kill animals. Grass eaters kill grass, grass is also alive. Such is our world. Predators have existed for billions of years, you are being eaten right now by bacteria. Predators keep ecosystems healthy and in check. Meat is the richest nutrient substance and vast majority of animals evolved to live that lifestyle.

  • @Beuterich even 11 months after you made your comment i still doubt you have any testicles.

  • Now pull your head out of your ass and learn to appreciate these birds for what they truely are, hunters. Because they are what they are. And remember this you cave dummy, these birds are free to go everytime they leave our fist, yet they come back.. I wonder why that is you moron. I bet you have a dog laying right next to ya, don't ya. A beautiful dog, kept by a fat, drunk, idiot..

    You like apples??

How you like them apples, Cave Dummy!!!

  • I support what you guys do. If it wasn't for you falconers the peregrine would be extinct. I would enter the sport myself but I just don't have time.

  • Rphister1, lmfao nice response to ignorance.

  • @rphister1 Great video, lovely to watch these birds hunt, pay no mind to the MORONs who post their ignorant rantings for if it was left to them, we would have nothing!

  • If it wasn't for us hooting and hollering Morons, that bird wouldn't even exist you idiot. It's a hybrid, born and raised in captivity, unlike you who was born and raised in a cave.. We will call you CD for short.. Cave dummy, hahahaha!!

  • Is it your bird ? nice pet m8 .. a natural born killer.. an apex predator... I appreciate your hobbie... ignore the uneducated comments... take care

  • Cool. Where is this? Look like around Calgary Canada? Southwestern Alberta at any rate.

  • my lizard was just eating locusts, its not my lizard i just feed it. i wish i could take it to its natural home but its the other end of the earth crackhead

  • You need to stop smoking an read some books on raptors, conservation and predators in general. Wat does it say about you that you veed thevid then took time tocommunicate with the "demented Fuk". Btw do you even know what demented means?

  • Thats fucking sick!

  • i dont dissagree on this type of act but they should realy be left in the wild to do their own thing, damn humans!

  • Alrighty. Does that go for squirrels to? I don't have access to many rabbits in the immediate vicinity, but there's an ABUNDANCE of squirrels. The people around here would be more than glad to be rid of them.

  • that is so kuel...I have not seen that before! Nice work and congrats to both of you.

  • i owned a harris befored and another prey bird i can't remember the name in english. Type in "cetreria" which is falconery in spanish i think there are other good videos. do you need a licence or permit in the US to own one?

  • Yes, in the USA you need a state permit for the state your in as well as a federal Raptor permit.

  • thats kool I need my peregrin like that some help me find a trainer please let me know asap thank

  • I'm not sure what your asking but training a falcon is a fairly easy task and there are different methods that all work well. The most important is to fly the bird every day, enter it on the game of your choice and get it killing, then fly fly fly. The bird will gain altitude as a necessity to chase fast game. My friend is training his falcons with a balloon and three of them have a pitch of over 2500 feet with just three weeks of training. I'll video a bit of it and post it. Good Luck

  • I don't know much about falconry, but I'm getting some books on it, and I'm devouring anything I can find online about it - do you know if the Red-Tail will perform in a similar fashion for hunting (high altitude and drop) or will it use a different method?
