  • Thank you. Please see my Orthodox video promotions on youtube under marykfilms.

  • I dont know half the stuff said here cause I'm not that smart. With that said you would have to be a complete moron worse than me to believe in the rapture. Pre trib post trib all a bunch of yapping and debating. The botom line is we are in wait of the second comming.. AntiChrist will deceve the Elect so if the Elect are raptured....aahhh never mind. Humans are the biggest idiots expecially the ones who are waiting for the rapture!

  • @ziggizoggi Christianity is more then the rapture. And btw, not all Christians believe in the rapture.

  • @ziggizoggi

Who sells all they have and gives it to the poor?

Who makes charity a priority or who visits prisons or just kicks it with the poor?

Who can drink some sinoide and not die or heal even more so raise the dead?

Who is willing to be a desart rat for years or be content with a reputation as a fool.

Who is disaplined to escape tolls and make the Jesus prayer prosper?

Not me so who am I to explain what a true blue Christian is.

So I respect Christians but only knew 1 or 2.

  • Dr. Goa wondered at how it was possible to convince young people that the world offered no hope. I wonder if various nihilistic groups are led by individuals who are very good at finding those people who are most easily manipulated. For example, if one suffered from severe depression (family was murdered by an opposing faction, for example), would they not actually be a good candidate to rebuild into a martyr? Anyway - excellent discussion, thank you.

  • @Chad01234 Good observation. Perhaps that is why the Palestinian situation is such a good recruiting tool for Al Qaida. Al qaida is essentially a Nihilistic movement: destruction for the sake of destruction, with no real concept to put in place of what they are destroying.

  • Bigboy 45; somehow I lost your post regarding the early Christian Church. Here is the info I know. From 33AD to 27 October 312, Christianity was under persecution. The Donatist schismatics were the first recorded heresy; as far as I know. There were issues recorded in Acts and the epistles; many of these issues had to do with gnostic ideas. Christ even told a man; foxes have holes and birds nests but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head as a warning not to profit from preaching the Gospel

  • Excellent video Vladika.

  • Hello. Even though I'm a non-believer, I often enjoy your videos. I have the same take on this end time obsession that you do.

I was disappointed on one of your earlier videos where I asked a question, but you did not respond. I'll try to find it and re-ask the question, if you'd be so kind as to answer.

  • @SiriusMined I do try to respond to questions, but sometimes, there are so many e-mails in addition to the comments that I lose track of some. If you can ask your question again, I will make a special effort to respond to it.

  • Thanks I really enjoyed the talk. It is interesting to hear you speak on the dangers of reducing the beautiful transcendence of the mystery of life to a form of mechanical rationalism, which in turn does away with any sense of wonder and awe and attempts to present a perverted view on our relationships with one another and the mystery of love itself. I also recommend a book called The Glory of the Lord, by Hans Urs Von Balthasar which addresses the loss of beauty in modern Christian theology.

  • Hey Father Orthodox Fraud, did you read in the paper yesterday where Stephen Hawking says that Heaven is a fairy-story? So without your fairy-story of Heaven being true, we're all going to become zero when we die. Deal with it, your religion is a lie just like all religion. Is that Nihilism or just plain reality?

  • @bigboy45454545 you're simply trying to goad, get a reaction, and sow hatred with your pejorative name calling....when you have behaviour like that you can't expect to be taken seriously. For every person who says "nay" one says "yea". Did you know that reputed Psychiatrists Dr Viktor Frankl, and Carl Jung support the view of an afterlife? Jung even said that death was but another birth. You should really read Frankl's "Man's Search For Meaning", his story of surviving Auschwitz.

  • @XDragasesX I'm not trying to goad as you claim. I'm effectively getting a reaction. Now some of my words could be called pejorative, if they weren't true, but you know what they say? The truth hurts. Who they are isn't clear. It certainly isn't religious people.

  • @bigboy45454545 The fact that you keep being so obsessively disrespectful to someone as kind and intelligent as Vladika shows that your username should be “littleman45454545” instead of the current one.

  • @syonnain Really? You think that Vladika is kind and intelligent? What with his hand in everyone's pocket in his congregation, while telling stories about magic nonexistent Gods. Well to each his own. I think he's a reptile dressed up as a holy man.

  • @bigboy45454545 He's a monk. Who's pocket does he have his hand in?

  • @bigboy45454545 Recycled sounds better than "zero." Since Orthodoxy has never taught that heaven is a "place" with a geographical location, Mr Hawking cannot speak about it in a way that would be meaningful to us.

  • @allsaintsmonastery Cherry picking a bible and telling the sheep in your congregation what to believe is easy when statistics show that 90% of Christians haven't even read a bible. So whatever you teach about Heaven would be far different from what the bible says on the matter, wouldn't it now? I think you'll enjoy the video in this link. It disproves Christianity by asking a question about Christianity, in one fell swoop. Check it out.

  • @bigboy45454545 Your attitude and vocabulary are warning signs of the real dangers and dehumanising effect of atheism. Are their no atheist with the maturity and humanity to be involved in civil discourse?????

  • @allsaintsmonastery No it's not my attitude in question here. You just can't stand it when people stand up and tell you that we don't believe your fairytales. Effectively we're rubbing your nose in it. We should go for that pint of premium Ale and an arm wrestle maybe? Around unbelievers your words carry no weight. Kind of like your videos here on YouTube. The internet is where religion comes to die. Religion won't be missed when people get over their delusions.

  • @bigboy45454545 Yes, BB, it is your attitude. I have civil discourse with intellegent atheist all the time. You are simply a vulgar, unintelligent lout.

  • @allsaintsmonastery Tell me something, is it your beliefs in the sky fairies which makes you intelligent?

  • @bigboy45454545 Dude, why do you bother trying to harass people all the time? Since, you claim to be an atheist why do bother to harass Archbishop Lazar all the time? Don't you have atheist parties to attend or something?

  • @bigboy45454545 I watched the video and I think it's a rich demonstration of a poor understanding of Christianity.

  • @bigboy45454545 Hi we only know about 4% of the universe; that is the part that makes up planets suns/stars and other "material stuff". The other 96% is something. The scientist are calling it dark matter and dark energy; they have no way of knowing what it is; they infer its existence from effects on gravity in the universe. No doubt Hawkins is intellectually brilliant and entitled to his view.

  • @Larryinct So do you really think this Dark Matter and Dark Energy is going to turn out to be God? And then somehow it's going to be shown this God is the Christian God Yahweh? And then it's going to be shown by science that this Yahweh runs the universe? Come on my boy. The Yahweh character and his magic son Jeebus are myths. Science doesn't know everything but they don't go on bronze-age myths. Religion is for ignorant closed minded people.

  • @bigboy45454545 Hi, I really don't know what dark matter is or dark energy. Orthodoxy brings me a little more happiness and productive struggle ever day. The scientist who are investigating this 96% say it is invisible as they don't have a way to sample it and study it the way they do the other 4%. They know that it is something; because the universe does not expand the way it should based on the science that is derived from the 4% they study. I'm not suggesting heaven is what they are studying

  • @Larryinct Well if Orthodoxy brings you a little more happiness and productive struggle everyday then you're welcome to this. However if you choose to research this Jesus of your religion you'd find that he never really walked the earth. Effectively Jesus was a myth dreamed up by the early Church for power and control. All the happiness in the world to you. Science is about knowledge. And yes not everything is known otherwise Science would stop. Religion hasn't even begun to think.

  • @bigboy45454545 Dude, why do you bother trying to harass people and tell lies to abuse and hurt other people? I'm aware of what atheist like yourself are trying to spread their misery and their nihilistic message of death around the world. Don't you have any moral dignity to treat people with differences with respect? Why do you like a mini Osama Ben Laden in rhetoric than someone like Thomas Jefferson for example? He was an agnostic but a least tried to minimize being harmful.

  • Why do you sound like a mini Osama Ben Laden in your hateful speech and lies?

  • @neildingman Dude, the people who are lying to you and spreading rhetoric are the parasite Preachers like our boy in this video. He knows darn well that Jesus is just a myth but stealing from gullible sheep is how these Preachers earn a living. With rhetoric like "born again", "blood of the lamb" , "Jesus in your heart", "saved through Jesus", "a relationship with Jesus", "the gateway to Heaven" and so on. All of it nonsense. Just secret meaningless buzzwords for the stupid to believe.

  • @bigboy45454545 Your response makes it obvious you have no control of your faculties. I suggest you seek help from a therapist or the psychologist to deal with your wretched and ugly behavior. May be you should consider medication or if you are on medication getting it adjusted. You should really seek medical help to deal with your depression and miserable self. Your harangues are nothing but a desperate attempt for attention and a pathetic way to satisfy your sadistic tendencies.

  • @bigboy45454545 If you wish to pursue your love of sadistic pleasures, may be you should consider visiting other web sites and leave these innocent people alone. Your limited ability to have a decent constructive conversation is truly amazing. I've never come across a more pathetic acting individual like yourself. You should consider stop being a pugnacious little coward. And come to terms with your depression and seek help. Your cowardice and sadistic actions are truly pathetic.

  • @bigboy45454545 Here are local mental hospitals in your area to call or visit to seek mental health services. I suggest you consider giving it a try before you hurt yourself and/or others:

    1. Vancouver Coastal Health: 604-736-9244 L5-601 Broadway W, Vancouver,

    2. BC Mental Health & Addiction Services: 604-524-7700 70 Colony Farm Rd, Coquitlam

    3. Canadian Mental Health Association: 604-872-4902 175 Broadway W, Vancouver

    4. Coast Mental Health: 604-872-3502 295 11 Avenue East, Vancouver

  • @neildingman So you think that pointing out to people why their beliefs in the Christian Gods are ridiculous and unfounded are cowardly? I disagree, and would say my comments are educational, but sadly many Christians are unwilling to learn something if what they learned interferes with their beliefs. So sad for you.

  • @bigboy45454545 I believe the purpose of this particular video and comments section is to share point of views in a constructive and respective manner. However, you have no respect and fall to the lowest common denominator to proceed with an intelligent conversation amongst different opinions. You should be ashamed of yourself. Please consider call one of the phone numbers listed to seek help.

  • @bigboy45454545 Sounds like you are having problems please consider the following:

    Crisis Centres in B.C.

    PROVINCE WIDE:

    Phone: 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)

    Hours: 24 hours

  • @neildingman Is there a particular reason why you think that a critical thinking Atheist is somehow suicidal Mr. Shitforbrains? It's obvious that you're a twit.

  • @bigboy45454545 I don't have any problems with Atheist or other folks. I was just suggesting you seek mental help because your behavior has a strong inclination towards the traits of sadistic personality disorder. It would be wrong just ignore you and let you waste away and harm other people because of your urge to obtain sadistic arousal.

  • @neildingman Do you really think that telling people the truth about their God not really existing is harmful to people, or does it help them with their delusions? Delusions which you have too right Spazz? That's your only real beef with me. Well it's not my problem that you believe silly things.

  • @bigboy45454545 you are right, not your problem. so drop it.

  • @bigboy45454545 I am no expert on the Church. But if someone were to start a phony religion 2,000 years ago based on a man crucified who rose from the dead bodily and then preached a resurrection of the body and the soul; so that you the person would be back on earth; they would have failed very quickly. The resurrection of the body sounded strange to people and a god man crucified as a the worst criminal would not have been a very good spokes person; a stumbling block and foolishness. see cont

  • @Larryinct Well I'm waiting for a "see cont" which isn't coming. Please feel free to PM me so we talk about your religious assumptions, hearsay and just plain nonsense of your beliefs and the beliefs of others. You're free to believe anything you like of course, but a belief in magic unseen Gods is ridiculous. Bordering on the insane really.

  • @Larryinct Was it under persecution after the first little bit, is this true?

Or did it's leaders simply see the benefits of getting in on the ground floor of a popular movement?

Then they spun it for power and control to be what we have today.

I'll bet you know nothing of the first Christian movements?

Many of which were based on the Gnostic Jesus, or Jesus as just a holy man, and not a God.

    You should really investigate this.

But not from the biased Christian sources you see.

  • @bigboy45454545 You really should call and obtain the following therapy: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or other forms of psychotherapy may be helpful for certain people who have paranoia. CBT attempts to make a person more aware of his or her actions and motivations, and tries to help the individual learn to more accurately interpret cues around him or her, in an effort to help the individual change dysfunctional behaviors.

  • Difficulty can enter into a therapeutic relationship with a paranoid individual, due to the level of mistrust and suspicion that is likely to interfere with their ability to participate in this form of treatment.

  • @bigboy45454545 cont. The fact the Church was established and grew; under persecution, and is all over the world today is the best evidence of God. It was the miracles that Christ did and the Apostles did that testified and testify to the reality that God sent His Son that anyone who believes in Him will be saved; its the out pouring of the Spirit of God that people witness. It's only because God is the head of the Church that it grew and continues. I don't know how else to explain it.

  • @colossus999 Sorry, but Dr. Goa, who teaches at the University of Alberta, is a recognised expert on the subject. Perhaps it is you who does not understand the ramifications and varieties of Nihilism. And perhaps you have not read the Catechism of a Revolutionist. Nihilism considers that there is no meaning and no future to existing structures, and that destruction of them, even with no concept of a replacement, is needed.

  • @allsaintsmonastery Nihilism is the belief that there is no objective purpose to existence, or that there are no objective moral values. It really has nothing to do with destroying structures.

  • @colossus999 That is simply not the truth, Colossus You are ill informed and poorly read. The entire structure of the Nihilist movement in Russia was dedicated to the destruction of the existing order, and the prime goal was the assassination of the Tsar and civil authorities. The denial of the value of the world itself, which characterises the "Rapture" fantasy and apocalypticism is also Nihilistic. A forthcoming book by an Islamic Scholar explores the nihilism of Al Qaida.

  • Excellent explanation. I hadn't thought of apocalypticism as a branch of nihilism. Very interesting and insightful as usual. :-)

  • A very interesting video series your Eminence. I am still waiting for your email commentaries of Mr Sapolsky's ideas :)
