I have this model, and it get *extremely* hot, due to downright stupid fan placement (you'd think this was the first time they made a laptop). Hard drive has failed within four months. Touch pad is absolute garbage. Customer service has awful English and is useless. I wish I could get my money back.

@rashojaan The touch pad problem is when the mouse pointer wont move but all you have to do to fix it is to press the left mouse button a couple of times. If you have a mouse there are no problems.

this computer is a piece of shit!!! I got it 3 weeks ago, the fan has issues starting and stopping EVERY 30 SECONDS, its slow, the graphics card crashes......dell makes garbage.

great processor n memory, good price, good graphics, good design, not heavy.

Missing stuff like eSATA Firewire, ok battery life, touchpad gets hot, poor dell customer support, horrible McAfee security software that comes preinstalled and messes up iexplorer 32 bit on uninstalling. Horrible Touchpad that can get stuck but uninstalling the dell touchpad software does help. Good fer everyday computing.

@CJ08899 The sliding feature is Aero you can enable it like this: Right click anywhere there is open space on your desktop and left click on Personalize

Click on Window Color and Appearance

At the bottom of the Windows Color and Appearance window click Open classic appearance properties for more color options.

Look at the scroll list and select "Windows Aero" as the new scheme

Click on Apply and then click OK

When you get back to your desktop you should be able to see the background through the borders of open windows now

Hi gd vid m8. In the UK The cheapest one you can get is UNDER £400! Still comes the i3. The key differences is that it has a 250GB HDD and 2GB of ram and you can only get it in black but still a gr8 deal!

the speakers are not below the screen they are actually at the front of the laptop, on the bottom, this can be annoying if you have it on you lap as the sound gets muffled, apart from that they do go quite loud, the microphone is also not at the top of the screen where th ewebcam is, it is on the very fron part of the laptop, if you look closely it is level with the RMB, on the black strip at the front, but yeah it is terrible, this review was good apart from that well done :)

@imsaaam This is probably a bit late, but whatever. The reason you shouldn't buy a Macbook (they're good in their own right), is that you can save hundreds by purchasing this laptop which I can guarantee is fantastic. If you'd prefer OSX, then obviously you should go with the Macbook.

Hi Mathew. I want to buy the same computer as yours. However, I am confused as to how Dell has configured the hard drive. C drive has the operating system with 60gigs and D drive has the rest of the 320 gb. How do you configure the hd to make it only one drive? I know the recovery data is on the D drive, but how are you suppose to fit your data in My Documents when its on the C drive that only has 60gb?
