1983 I wasn't even born yet, why did all the hard roots reggae hit before i was here!!!! at least I've gotten to see some of today's survivors though :D
Anybody know a song Mikey Dread performed when he sang ''go to work on mon ... tue, wed etc then church on sunday ? I seen him do it in Glasgow but I've never been able to find out what it was. I even asked Mikey after a gig but don't think he understood Scottish (",)
Mostly they say/shout: 'Wheel......!!!' or ' Rewind !!!! ' . I think it comes originally from reggae-deejays (soundsystems) who really did rewind the tape / plate , then announce something again and then restart the song. This always gives some extra push-/powerfeeling to the song. This rewind-thing is totally accepted for bands in 'reggae-world' .
In memoriam... the best, Mikey Dread (Michael Campbell)RIP, se fue, pero dejo un grande, enorme legado, en la memoria colectiva el maestro -Dread at the control-
You did your thing like no one else could, paved the way for many, you truly believed you could make a change, and you did. I will always remember you and the great days at JBC in Jamaica
Play Poker with the stars! Believe it or not, yesterday night I played the biggest stars of poker at the same table and managed to win a decent pot (for me anyways)! Wanna know how? - Pretty simple, I just registered at CDPoker com using the Coupon Code CASHFUN and got exclusive $600 Bonus. Maybe I´ll see you there today.
i remember this wow thanks for posting this ive been trying to track this track for years now i can enjoy it to my hearts content UB40 and Mikey Dread is as they say these days Dread which simply means SUPERB
How the hell ave I only just found this!! Followed the UB's since day one, and turned up at a gig years back wiv me DATC t-shirt on me back to see (another hero) Mikey Dread as support.. Blew me away, totally!!
Ub40's early 80's material is as good as anything that was being done by Steel Pulse and Aswad. This backing of Mikey Dread is how those albums sounded. Wicked!
Ive had the pleasure to be hired & perform with Mikey Dread for his Hawaii tour for Rasta in Control album. Its crazy to know he still sounded that good LIVE back then. thanks for the video....nice - Respect!

Great song.
When reggae musicians start a song for a bit, then restart it back up, what is the "term" for this?
Does it symbolize anything?
