Dang this was the year for the C-USA running backs... i'm a UCF fan but Forte is a monster! It was all about Matt Forte, Chris Henry and Kevin Smith!!!
ur talking out of ur ass Lol, dmc...isnt even that good....peterson is the most explosive rb in the game...and forte is good at running and can catch the ball execptionally well
He's the most explosive back cause of that line he runs behind. Remember Priest Holmes and how Larry Johnson was considered elite running back it was because of the line. I'm not taking anything away from Peterson but he's not the best back in the league. Plus he's not in the game all cause he fumbles way to much and he's not a good blocker and can't really catch the ball that well. He's a better Shawn Alexander.

MATT IS NICE!!!! he has vision...he is strong and has good speed...although he is not as fast as mcfadden....he still produces more than mcfadden!!! he is just better...i aint sayin that cause he is my cousin...im sayin this cause he is the real deal!!!
well Mcfadden is not an NFL running back if he starts next year I promise u he is going to get hurt. The way he runs he is going to be lit up alot of times. His field vision is any good the reason he destroyed college was because of his speed.
i just dont like the fact he had like 300-400 touches his last year in college and is like 300-400 touches his rookie year. all that can effect him next season and wear him down
Matt Forte is a BEAST... Rank #5 for RB as a rookie is impressive and he will hopefully carry on the title. 1,012 rushing yards he is about 300 yards shy from Adrian Peterson with 20 less carries. He also has 358 receiving yards. which is more recieving yards then the top 5 runninbacks right now... Should get rookie of the year. Although it might be a good fight with Chris Johnson who is not that far from Forte... -Josh-
forte is very good dont get me wrong...nflfan10....but no way in hell he is better then darren mcfadden ...this rookie class is very good with mdfadden chris johnson matt forte steve slaton and ray rice....and the only reason matt forte leads all rookies in yards is cause mcfaddens been hurt..chris johnson splits time with lendale white..steve slation splits time with ahman grreen and ray rice is willis mcgahees backup....these 5 are goina be stars within the next 5 years...
lol the only reason chris johnson is even decent is becuase he has a o-line to run with. daren mcfadden is just on a terrible team and has been injured but he would of never gotten anything going this season even if he was healthy. everyone knows the bears run off the bus so its easy to stop forte just like the titans stop the run game you have a better chance to win i wish the bears didn't have a shitty secondary (except kevin payne and tillman)
Darren Mcfaddeb this year is not a better runninback then Matt Forte... The numbers can prove that instantly. Matt Forte has started only 3 more games then Mcfadden and has about 3 times more yards. And if im not mistaking i think he has more total yards then any RB right now that recieving and rushing yards combined. So dont ever say anything that you dont know. Learn the game first kid.
ur do dumb! i know so much more about football then u i gurantee it!!!! 100% sure that i kno more about football then u..........if u would have payed attention to my question i said IF THEY WERE ALL HEALTHY ...mcfaddens been batteling a toe injury all year....plus i would take ray rice...steve slation and chris johnon over matt forte....dont call me a kid
Wow lol... Ray Rice? He has 423 rushing yards... compared to Forte I mean if anything I would say Chris Johnson would be the closest as far as rushing yards but Forte already has 358 receptions yards. I think hes is dominating the RB Position for a rookie. Ray Rice is not a real starter he only started 4 games in his career and when he had his opportunity to bounce back up after that 150 yard game agains cleveland he blew it. I would take Kevin Smith over Ray Rice! Steve Slayton is better...
wait a second....are you from our country>? u dont act like it.... again...if u would have payed attention to what i said i said if ray rice started...hes a freaking backup or even third string....also...get ur facts rite bud....u said u said he only started 4 games in his career? and u said when he he had his chance to bounce back up after that 150 tard game aginst cleveland he blew it?? maybe because he didnt start the next game dumb shit..get ur shit right...
Really? Are you sure he didnt start... Maybe you should look again because he started the next game against cleveland retard. He had 7 attempts with only 17 yards... are you serious? I just wanna go back to you saying that you would start him over Matt Forte... lol you were saying the only reason why Forte is good is because all these rookie running backs are splitting time with there starters... HELLO!!! The Question is who is the best Rookie Runningback right now! Stop it with the excuses.
Hey unlike all the other rookie running backs Forte is three down back and three dimensional, he can run, over 1000 yds, he can catch, 60 catches, and he can block.
ummmmmm you are really wrong.. mcfadden is in no way better than forte this year, injury or not... mcfadden has alot of learning to do, coming from a college that ran a wildcat offense.. he is no every-down running back with nfl talent... thats not saying he wont be in the future.. but as for rookie year... he didn't not stand out nearly like forte did
say whatever u want about how better McFadden and others are than Forte, but hes already at 909 yards and leads ALL rookies with yards rushing and yds. from scrimmage. GO #22!!
i Have to laugh at all the idiots who over looked This kid. I like Alabama, but i have to say this kid is my favorite running back by far. I am a bears fan to!!! so GO #22!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FORTE IS THE WAY TO GO!!!
woa woa woa woa, not great like mcfadden? mcfadden only had one good game in the nfl and that was against the worst rush defence matt forte is havin a pretty solid season
Chamillionare doesnt look like he knows much about football so far. Mendanhall didnt do anything and now is out. Forte is the rookie talk of the NFL and is the favorite to win rookie of the year. Its early still, but right now it looks like chamillionare should stick to commenting on ice skating instead of football.
I seen the bears colts game and Forte fucked the colts up but we got Eddie Royal on the broncos bitches and my favorite team pittsburgh with mendenhall Broncos or steelrs to rep tha AFC in the superbowl who wants to bet holla at me
Down here we've known for a while that Matt Forte is something special. I was and am very confident that he will be a prominent NFL starter, if not a ProBowler, if not an AllPro. This guy just has the intangibles that make great RB's. The Bears got a steal for the history books.
I know it's a little early to tell but he had a good game against the colts. 123 yards on 23 carries and a TD. That's a good first impression, hopefully he can keep it going.
first of all "dumbass" mendenhall did better than anyone on the illinois team in that game...he had a good game against usc even though we got whooped..go look at his stats from that game he did good first of all....second of all benn was a true fresh and juice was a true soph..this year there gonna be dynamite...vontae davis the best CB in the big 10 is gonna be awesome this year as a true junior..were gonna be good this year
Like what you have to say... for the most part, but just 1 thing Vontae Davis? He's not #1 CB in Big 10, it's definetly Malcolm Jenkins from OSU. He woulda been the first taken in the draft, but decided to stay, he's easy #1. sorry. However like the rest Illini will be sweet.
how bout we dont compare the 2 best rookie runningbacks mendanhall played tough and ran through people and forte used agility and toughness to be good they are both the best, usc sucks and the super bowl is steelers vs bears
ROFL look at who hes playing...what the hell is southern methodist rofl!!!...and playing for the shittiest team in the league hes more likely to be shitty then good..mark my words..just like the FAMOUS CEDRIC BENSON...he was supposed to be good too...
look at rashard mendenhall at illinois..he only started ONE year his junior year and he had better stats and went 23rd overall from 1 year of starting...hes way better than "forte"
actually this was matt forte first year starting kinda he got hurt junior year which was his first start at tulane. Then as a senior he got 2.2k yards and 23 TDS he also had 4 games of 200+ yards in a row. Rashard mendenhall is good I wouldn't say he is better yet.
hes not better...look at who mendenhall played...OSU..WISCONSIN..USC..PENNSTATE...MICHIGAM...MIZZOU..who did forte play that was nationally ranked?...exactly
lol are you serious so if your basing your facts on teams he has played walter payton barry sanders LT were in a small no name school who played shit competition LOL. SO everything you just said isn't even a factor on what a good running back is or isn't. BTW he did have the most yards against a LSU defense that was healthy every team before had less yards then what he individually put up on them.
so wait now you are assuming ???? have you watched the highlights they there was definitely no blocking or at least GREAT blocking in any of his runs. Rashard mendenhall has better blocks from what i've seen, forte always has someone in his face. which he always jukes out (well in the highlights).
its still a shitty ass defense hes playing...do you even know where southern methodist is?...i know ur gonna look it up but hell i dont even know...i think you could get a 100 yd game against them shit
mendenhall played many good defenses...dumbass...wisconsin..ohio state...penn state michigan mizzou...USC...thats 7 good defenses compared to 1 good defense..that says it all
DUMBASS the only game i watched of those (in full) was the USC one and Mendenhall sucked with the help of Benn, Juice, and a decent O-Line.
and FYI the Tulane Oline sucks ass. their starting QB and #1 WR would struggle to make the Illionis team. It was an impressive show by Forte against LSU.
Granted I think they are both top 3 RBs from this year's draft class. Let's look at the real culprit of being overhyped: Darren McFadden.
no buddy ur all wrong forte played one good defense and did pretty good but he played mississippi st and did bad and played garbage ass teams and hell no he is not top 3 rb this year and are u serious darren mcfadden WAY better then him
I think he is exactly what the Bears need. He has great vision, can catch the ball out of the backfield and has home runn potential. Add that to the fact that he has excellent character he is an ideal fit. If he comes in and has a big year he can own Chicago!
benson is a better back then forte. and they said benson goes down on first contact. based on this video i beg the differ. forte not going to do shit on the bears.
Seems to me that Benson had plenty of opportunities to run. He never got it done and had too many embarrassing DUI's. Payton never had great lines and was the best. We'll see how Forte adapts. Not everyone can be an NFL running back. He hasn't had a game yet.
i feel sorry for him bec ause he hasnt done minicamp and he has all the expectations set for him.if he doesnt do well this year now that he is most likely to be starting because of the release of cedric benson. but if he doesnt do well those stupid chicagoans will have his head.i hope he can do it.
geez how many times do they play SMU in one year? 3/4 of the highlights were against SMU and the other quarter was against army. not good competition...
benson wasa bust, but he did not cost them the superbowl. benson ran very well in the playoffs. if youre going to pin the superbowl on anyone it should be rex grossman or the bears running defense who got fucking dominated in the second half. ps you have a baby dick.
i dont wanna hear another fag blaming EVERYTHING on rex grossman, when u lose u go down as a team it was not only rex's fault, he did what he had to do and i admit he had some errors but u have to understand its not easy playing in that kind of weather
ugh , no Rex has been one of the best weve had for awhile Chicago doesnt win for QB's our QB always blow but to blame other reasons for Rex Sucking isnt going to help neither..... Kyle orton is our best QB at present....
no he isnt orton has no future with the bears rex is, did u c rex's first appearence stats in the superbowl compared to brett farve and tom brady? rex did way better than both of them
Yea did u notice how the defense got him fumbling and bumbling its easy when your defense owns the line of scrimage , How was he last year asswipe? Yea didnt think , There defense sucked ass last year (2007) , 2006 we didnt have these Defense problems :)
you are a total dumb ass. most of the time it looks like rex grossman is trying to lose games. he is terrible and needs to go to the canadian football league.
thomas jones was the lifeline for the ground game and entire offense that entire season. In the postseason, Jones tripled Benson's production who had only 1 td, under 3 yards/touch, and kept fumbled on several occasions (all of which were lost). He did not run well in the playoffs dumbass.
retard, running back was not a position of need for Chicago going into the 05 draft when Benson was selected 4th overall. In pro-sports, you can't afford to invest money in the Cedric Benson's of the world (a la Detroit Pistons with Darko over Carmelo) because even the best teams can't recover from missing talent. The bears surely could have used more of it during the super bowl. and there is no doubt in my mind that one of those other first rounders would have won it for them. ps suck it gaywad
Benson's lack of maturity and commitment will always out weigh his talent. I hope Forte makes him irrelevant, he has great quickness and acceleration. I'm not a Bears fan but I'd like to see him succeed.
and retard. how did benson cost the superbowl??? cuz he fumbled and got hurt??? indy didnt even score off of that fumble you fuckin idiot. grossman and the pass defense blew that game. and i think hellen keller could start over adrian peterson and garrett wolfe.
I am a huge Bears fan and I can still say no hope for Grossman (Mental Midget) start Orton he was the only QB last year to get a back to back win he can control the game. Forte is looking very promising, now that we have a running game lets hope no more bombs from Grossman at 1st and 10 with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter
I agree 100% about Orton but once again we head into the season not knowing who the starting QB, running back, and don't forget #1 receiver will be the bears need to just trade their first and second round picks from now on. i am a huge bears fan as well but i have to call them as i see them and until lovie is out of chicago we will be lucky to make the play off's. by the way watch forte's highlight's, he is caught from behind quite a bit, slaton was there in the third. should have gotten a QB
Its not talking bad about Rice, I am a fan of his. He just will not be an every down back in the NFL and thats what the bears were looking for. I think Rice will be a good NFL back but I believe he will be more of a Dave Megget type.
Forte looks great, I think he will be very good this year. Ray Rice is absolutely no comparison to Forte, they are completely different RB's at the pro level. The Bears were loooking for an every down back that could block, run, and catch and have 20-25 carries a game. Rice is not that guy at the pro level, he is very small. Every NFL team has him as a 3rd down specialty back in the NFL, not an every down back.
everyone said the same stuff about Maurice J D and look at what he is doing to the NFL b4 u start talking bad about Ray Rice see what he is going to go first.
excellent vision. follows his blocks. versatile. makes people miss. can turn the corner. can catch the ball outta the backfield.
these are the things that make a good NFL back. i dont care if he was playing against 10 year olds, you can see he has all of those talents. my only question is: can he pick up a blitzing linebacker? cuz we know the bears' line is gonna let a lotta people thru that should get blocked.
me and my friends were sitting in my living room watching the draft and 14 comes around and i said mendinhall o well we filled a bigger need (note i hate the illini) o well we got a 3 time all american ot then round 2 rolls around and i rember i had heard they were doing private work outs with matt forte first words out of my mouth bensons replacment were takin amtt forte i was right welcome to chicago matt make us proud
lol im a bears fan but im also a ray rice fan and to argue whos gonna be better is bogus bc they both have totally diffrent style size vision and speed
i think the bears are going to do great this year we finaly got an offensive line and a running back plus we got a good defensive line men and also we got Craig Steltz a very good safety but you never know hopefully they will do great wait i forgot they have the beast brian urlacher and then we have Devin hester.
lol u guys love college stats..wait what conference did he play in? conference usa? and ray rice played in hmmmm the big east? big difference..rice played against #2 and #3 ranked teams while this kid plays southern methodist and rice still posted over 2,000 yds
ok, lets talk conferences. first off, lets not talk about the big east as if they are a power conference. they are ugly top to bottom.
irrelevant anyway. look where benson comes from. Texas, and he sucks. look at some of the top backs in the NFL now... off the top of my head: tomlinson came from where? mountain west conference.
look at some starting rosters for NFL teams, and where they went to school.
Enough of the Super Bowl talk idiot! What's wrong with you??! It's May! Why don't we wait till the Bears win some games to start making predictions??! What's wrong with Turner? What, did you like Shea, or Shoop better??
At first i didnt like this pick by Angelo. I wanted another O.L. But this kid looks very fast and elusive, not to mention powerful legs. A good time to bring a hungry RB to the Bears. Nevertheless college is done with. Time to see what this kid can do. Start him.
P.s. I love the talent on our team, i think we are easily SuperBowl contenders, the ONLY thing we desperately need is a new Offensive Coordinator. Utilize every man on our roster and run twin Tight Ends most every time in the redzone
ur right chicagobearsfan321, brett favre definitely struggled his first 4 years of pro football, i totally agree. i definitely consider winning an MVP a "rough year" ur an idiot, just a complete moron. but then again, i expect nothing less from a bears fan. go pack go

Ray Rice is not a real starter he only started 4 games in his career and when he had his opportunity to bounce back up after that 150 yard game agains cleveland he blew it. I would take Kevin Smith over Ray Rice! Steve Slayton is better...
JoshSoto86 3 years ago
wait a second....are you from our country>? u dont act like it.... again...if u would have payed attention to what i said i said if ray rice started...hes a freaking backup or even third string....also...get ur facts rite bud....u said u said he only started 4 games in his career? and u said when he he had his chance to bounce back up after that 150 tard game aginst cleveland he blew it?? maybe because he didnt start the next game dumb shit..get ur shit right...
hartman523 3 years ago
JoshSoto86 3 years ago
Hey unlike all the other rookie running backs Forte is three down back and three dimensional, he can run, over 1000 yds, he can catch, 60 catches, and he can block.

McFadden is a SCRUB... (SCRUB)
JoshSoto86 3 years ago
ummmmmm you are really wrong.. mcfadden is in no way better than forte this year, injury or not... mcfadden has alot of learning to do, coming from a college that ran a wildcat offense.. he is no every-down running back with nfl talent... thats not saying he wont be in the future.. but as for rookie year... he didn't not stand out nearly like forte did
smokenchoke0420 3 years ago
ur funny.darren mcfadden pfft. matt forte is the next best in the bears RB legacy.

say whatever u want about how better McFadden and others are than Forte, but hes already at 909 yards and leads ALL rookies with yards rushing and yds. from scrimmage. GO #22!!

I drafted him to my fantasy team as my sleeper pick..just hope the bears will block for him

The Bears got a diamond in the rough. Forte is way underrated in my book and will shine in the NFL. This kid is speacial.
acouplebeers 3 years ago 2
first of all "dumbass" mendenhall did better than anyone on the illinois team in that game...he had a good game against usc even though we got whooped..go look at his stats from that game he did good first of all....second of all benn was a true fresh and juice was a true soph..this year there gonna be dynamite...vontae davis the best CB in the big 10 is gonna be awesome this year as a true junior..were gonna be good this year
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago 2
Like what you have to say... for the most part, but just 1 thing Vontae Davis? He's not #1 CB in Big 10, it's definetly Malcolm Jenkins from OSU. He woulda been the first taken in the draft, but decided to stay, he's easy #1. sorry. However like the rest Illini will be sweet.
adambrooks5 3 years ago
how bout we dont compare the 2 best rookie runningbacks mendanhall played tough and ran through people and forte used agility and toughness to be good they are both the best, usc sucks and the super bowl is steelers vs bears

I think if he works on buffing up his legs he might get alot better and faster which would make him amazing imo :)

ROFL look at who hes playing...what the hell is southern methodist rofl!!!...and playing for the shittiest team in the league hes more likely to be shitty then good..mark my words..just like the FAMOUS CEDRIC BENSON...he was supposed to be good too...
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
Yeah, Rushing for over 2000 yards and 23 TD's sucks huh?
vaderownzu 3 years ago
look at rashard mendenhall at illinois..he only started ONE year his junior year and he had better stats and went 23rd overall from 1 year of starting...hes way better than "forte"
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
actually this was matt forte first year starting kinda he got hurt junior year which was his first start at tulane. Then as a senior he got 2.2k yards and 23 TDS he also had 4 games of 200+ yards in a row. Rashard mendenhall is good I wouldn't say he is better yet.
wazzupi 3 years ago
hes not better...look at who mendenhall played...OSU..WISCONSIN..USC..PENNSTATE...MICHIGAM...MIZZOU..who did forte play that was nationally ranked?...exactly
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
lol are you serious so if your basing your facts on teams he has played walter payton barry sanders LT were in a small no name school who played shit competition LOL. SO everything you just said isn't even a factor on what a good running back is or isn't. BTW he did have the most yards against a LSU defense that was healthy every team before had less yards then what he individually put up on them.
wazzupi 3 years ago
so your saying it doesnt matter what defense they play against?so it doesnt matter if they play floridas defense or southern methodists defense?...
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
I am saying it doesn't evalute talent as much as you think.
wazzupi 3 years ago
maybe tulane has great blocking..that + bad defense makes it very easy for the rb
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
so wait now you are assuming ???? have you watched the highlights they there was definitely no blocking or at least GREAT blocking in any of his runs. Rashard mendenhall has better blocks from what i've seen, forte always has someone in his face. which he always jukes out (well in the highlights).
wazzupi 3 years ago
its still a shitty ass defense hes playing...do you even know where southern methodist is?...i know ur gonna look it up but hell i dont even know...i think you could get a 100 yd game against them shit
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
he played LSU. best defense in the country. mendenhall didn't.
and Mendenhall was a system player.
rappoltpierre 3 years ago
mendenhall played many good defenses...dumbass...wisconsin..ohio state...penn state michigan mizzou...USC...thats 7 good defenses compared to 1 good defense..that says it all
Chamillionaire82 3 years ago
DUMBASS the only game i watched of those (in full) was the USC one and Mendenhall sucked with the help of Benn, Juice, and a decent O-Line.
and FYI the Tulane Oline sucks ass. their starting QB and #1 WR would struggle to make the Illionis team. It was an impressive show by Forte against LSU.
Granted I think they are both top 3 RBs from this year's draft class. Let's look at the real culprit of being overhyped: Darren McFadden.
rappoltpierre 3 years ago
no buddy ur all wrong forte played one good defense and did pretty good but he played mississippi st and did bad and played garbage ass teams and hell no he is not top 3 rb this year and are u serious darren mcfadden WAY better then him

Seems to me that Benson had plenty of opportunities to run. He never got it done and had too many embarrassing DUI's. Payton never had great lines and was the best. We'll see how Forte adapts. Not everyone can be an NFL running back. He hasn't had a game yet.

1) Earth to vooshi: Benson no longer wears da Bear's uniform.
2) Benson was the biggest bust, costing chicago a super bowl.
3) Benson:lazyness;Forte:work ethic
4) Forte will be starting running back for Chicago in '08-'09.
davissignedon 3 years ago
benson wasa bust, but he did not cost them the superbowl. benson ran very well in the playoffs. if youre going to pin the superbowl on anyone it should be rex grossman or the bears running defense who got fucking dominated in the second half. ps you have a baby dick.
retardando25 3 years ago
i dont wanna hear another fag blaming EVERYTHING on rex grossman, when u lose u go down as a team it was not only rex's fault, he did what he had to do and i admit he had some errors but u have to understand its not easy playing in that kind of weather
chicagobearsfan321 3 years ago
I think grossman blows , and i blame it on him he comes to the pros if hes not ready he can sit the fuck down or go back to college ....
creedgaming 3 years ago
than obviously ur to stupid to see that rex grossman is a decent qb and orton and griese suck balls
chicagobearsfan321 3 years ago
ugh , no Rex has been one of the best weve had for awhile Chicago doesnt win for QB's our QB always blow but to blame other reasons for Rex Sucking isnt going to help neither..... Kyle orton is our best QB at present....
creedgaming 3 years ago
no he isnt orton has no future with the bears rex is, did u c rex's first appearence stats in the superbowl compared to brett farve and tom brady? rex did way better than both of them
chicagobearsfan321 3 years ago
Yea did u notice how the defense got him fumbling and bumbling its easy when your defense owns the line of scrimage , How was he last year asswipe? Yea didnt think , There defense sucked ass last year (2007) , 2006 we didnt have these Defense problems :)
creedgaming 3 years ago
you are a total dumb ass. most of the time it looks like rex grossman is trying to lose games. he is terrible and needs to go to the canadian football league.
metzger717171 3 years ago
thomas jones was the lifeline for the ground game and entire offense that entire season. In the postseason, Jones tripled Benson's production who had only 1 td, under 3 yards/touch, and kept fumbled on several occasions (all of which were lost). He did not run well in the playoffs dumbass.
davissignedon 3 years ago
retard, running back was not a position of need for Chicago going into the 05 draft when Benson was selected 4th overall. In pro-sports, you can't afford to invest money in the Cedric Benson's of the world (a la Detroit Pistons with Darko over Carmelo) because even the best teams can't recover from missing talent. The bears surely could have used more of it during the super bowl. and there is no doubt in my mind that one of those other first rounders would have won it for them. ps suck it gaywad
davissignedon 3 years ago
Benson's lack of maturity and commitment will always out weigh his talent. I hope Forte makes him irrelevant, he has great quickness and acceleration. I'm not a Bears fan but I'd like to see him succeed.
vooshi 3 years ago

I am a huge Bears fan and I can still say no hope for Grossman (Mental Midget) start Orton he was the only QB last year to get a back to back win he can control the game. Forte is looking very promising, now that we have a running game lets hope no more bombs from Grossman at 1st and 10 with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter
ak06max 3 years ago
I agree 100% about Orton but once again we head into the season not knowing who the starting QB, running back, and don't forget #1 receiver will be the bears need to just trade their first and second round picks from now on. i am a huge bears fan as well but i have to call them as i see them and until lovie is out of chicago we will be lucky to make the play off's. by the way watch forte's highlight's, he is caught from behind quite a bit, slaton was there in the third. should have gotten a QB
tood4u 3 years ago
Its not talking bad about Rice, I am a fan of his. He just will not be an every down back in the NFL and thats what the bears were looking for. I think Rice will be a good NFL back but I believe he will be more of a Dave Megget type.
spartanmikek 3 years ago
Forte looks great, I think he will be very good this year. Ray Rice is absolutely no comparison to Forte, they are completely different RB's at the pro level. The Bears were loooking for an every down back that could block, run, and catch and have 20-25 carries a game. Rice is not that guy at the pro level, he is very small. Every NFL team has him as a 3rd down specialty back in the NFL, not an every down back.
spartanmikek 3 years ago
everyone said the same stuff about Maurice J D and look at what he is doing to the NFL b4 u start talking bad about Ray Rice see what he is going to go first.
Footballking33 3 years ago
rice averaged 30+ carries a game in college
fsabala 3 years ago
excellent vision. follows his blocks. versatile. makes people miss. can turn the corner. can catch the ball outta the backfield.
these are the things that make a good NFL back. i dont care if he was playing against 10 year olds, you can see he has all of those talents. my only question is: can he pick up a blitzing linebacker? cuz we know the bears' line is gonna let a lotta people thru that should get blocked.

lol u guys love college stats..wait what conference did he play in? conference usa? and ray rice played in hmmmm the big east? big difference..rice played against #2 and #3 ranked teams while this kid plays southern methodist and rice still posted over 2,000 yds
fsabala 3 years ago
ok, lets talk conferences. first off, lets not talk about the big east as if they are a power conference. they are ugly top to bottom.
irrelevant anyway. look where benson comes from.

CGBear54 3 years ago
At first i didnt like this pick by Angelo. I wanted another O.L. But this kid looks very fast and elusive, not to mention powerful legs. A good time to bring a hungry RB to the Bears. Nevertheless college is done with. Time to see what this kid can do. Start him.
P.s. I love the talent on our team, i think we are easily SuperBowl contenders, the ONLY thing we desperately need is a new Offensive Coordinator. Utilize every man on our roster and run twin Tight Ends most every time in the redzone
