My current best for this level (as posted in your Area 6 Expert Mode video) is 600, but I can get around 584 on average. I'll probably practice Area 6 until I can consistantly get over 600.

Hmm...511 is the score you get on all levels if you use the Gameshark PRO code "Loads O' Hits."

Probably just a coincidence. That's not TOO far away from 427, it seems possible.

Hmmm, I think you might not have the 511 limit on yours. As long as your game didnt say "Players Choice", then I think its good to go =).

When did you buy your game, and where do you live? Some cartridges have a 511 limit on scores (I, luckily, don't have a limited cartridge).

The only downside to a non-limited cart, is that your high score list will get kind of messed up (out of order, and it will -256 from your total if you pass the 511 limit).

i have 452 on this level on xpert and total 1832 to get most kills play on expert correct? tehre are more units to kill than on normal...?

Sometimes, yes; it is better to play on Expert for kills in some situations.

However, It is actually better if you play Area 6 on normal (since if you hurt yourself a little, you can finish off certain ships, while retaining your Hyper Lasers).

P.S. My best current scores are: 584-Area 6, 2328-Total

(both done in Normal mode).

personal best is 2138, haven't played for a long time but i know it's more than possible to get over 500 on this stage using your charged laser manually, still not bad.

I use an N64, always. I just can't get comfortable with this game on emulation through a computer.

And I recently recieved a capture card for transferring direct video to my computer (you can tell the transition of my old movies "used a camera" and the much nicer ones).

Heh, yeah. I tend to press the buttons a bit TOO hard on this game.

I have 2 controlers though, one of em was bought around the end of the N64's popularity, and the other one is my original grey one.

For some reason, I play better with the original one. I don't know why though; the only real difference between them is the old one is louder. Whatever gets the job done ;).

Best record in this stage is 531 now. Soon, I'll upload a new video of a run where I get 525 here.

Have you ever heard of chain-firing? Use the burst that comes before charging in a rhythm, and you'll fire much faster than being triggerhappy. Ask about chain-firing if you need more info.

The funny thing is, I've never met anyone who could truly beat me in Multiplayer as a kid (I used to let my dad win a few times so he might wanna play some more).

But there's plenty of people who are better than me at this game. Search for this video "Star Fox 64 Zoness high score". That score is... just... geez.

Nice. My best on Area 6 is 498, which I got when I whored the game a few months ago. I also managed to get a few total scores over 2,000. I'll have to see if I can make some vids, but whether I'll be able to get anywhere close to that on an emulator, I don't know.

Yeah, I left this game alone for a while. But since I started playing it again, I've noticed I've been beating all my old scores like CRAZY.

After I posted this video, I played this level again and got a score of 452 on this level. I still need to work on charge shots for those extra hits.

I didn't even know I could score extra hits like that until I saw some videos like the Corneria/Zoness ones on youtube less than a year ago.
