@Danni3lilbirds yup...it definitely is all that and a box of cracker jacks. Used to love getting stoned and watching the whole thing. Hopefully soon i'll find the time to upload the whole thing for you guys. No promises though.
If i'm ever a famous musician, i'm going to write a whole album while watching a movie. And then wait until one person finds the connection and makes a youtube video about it.
after seeing the tim burton version, i was more inclined to believe this then dark side of the rainbow. think about it, theyre the same exact story with different details. wonderland is the equivelent of a wall, seperating alice from reality when her current life was too much for her. at the end of it all they hav the same purpose, a journey of self discovery. two classics. and the red and white color schemetotally matches. mindfuck.
This movie is actually pretty close, not in plot, but in the characters and how they are represented. I have read the books and they are actually very similar, except the movie does not present the plot right.
Isn't Dark side of the rainbow and Alice on the wall great but to me they got old i have seen so many times and have ran out of trippy things to see and notice ,,,, if you like these as much as i do then you will love dark side of nemo is a video i synced with floyds full dark side of the moon cd to the movie little nemo if you want search for dark side of nemo. it was a little off on the "skies look blue" part it shoulda been when if showed her on the ground looking at the sky , when u see the sky...it woulda been trippier..BUT the rabbit hole part is great....good vid :)
dude, I herd "outside the wall" Very faintly so I turned up the speakers and stuck me ear close to it, then my heart literaly jumped when "In the flesh" Began.
@zeeke1234 Classic?! u call this destruction of Lewis Carroll's books a classic! hav u read Alice's adventures in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found ther??!! This Disney rip off CRAP is not aclassic Tim Burton's was way bettr and 10 times mor like the book if u think this is a classic u r sadly mistaken even American Mcgee's Alice was mor like the book go and actually read b4 u decide to say something as idiotic as this
@zeeke1234 Now I what I like to see is for Pink Floyd & Tim Burton to get together and come up with something. That, my friend, would top Picasso or Beethoven or anyone altogether.
Tim Burton's will probably be somewhat unsuitable for children, because it will channel the book's submerged creepiness perfectly. I will have to see it of course.
Dude you've gotta try The Wall + Batman Begins, it's amazing. Bruce Wayne's father's dieing words were "IF YEA DONT EAT YER MEAT YEA CANT HAVE ANY PUDDIN!!!". Good stuff.
I wonder if you put it on repeat with the live action film Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, then maybe the baby on the album would be in sync on the part where the baby in the movie is crying (the one that turns into a piggy). That would be so freaky that I'm afraid to try it.
wow that was freaky as hell. especially when the rabbit is "late for a very important date" and the music gets all.. intense.. god i love pink floyd.. i swear.. it could go with anything.
Buckethead's album "Colma" works like a charm for The Wizard of Oz. I really wish Tim Burton wasn't making this film, I respect him as a director, but I know for a fact he will bring too much quirkyness and campy feeling to the movie. Personally I think David Lynch could make it into a masterpiece, but that would never happen.
Well, Tim Burton, despite being a strange and dreamlike film director, normally likes his films with a bit of a dark and sinister feel to them, and normally Alice in Wonderland isn't supposed to be like that.
Actually, As Far as I can remember from the actual book itself, I thought that It was quite dark and sinister at times. Take the poems, "The Walrus and the Carpenter" and the "Jabberwocky" for example. Also, the part where the baby turns into a pig is creepy. Wasn't the whole story really Alice's twisted dream?? Disney just sugar coated it, as per usual. I love all of Disney's masterpieces, however.
That's what I know think of it as well. That's what I didn't like about it, at first. I thought things like that were kind of creepy when I was a child, but now I've got used to them, that's probably why I didn't like the story much when I was young.
Actully, im a HotTopic Goth and i kinda agree with you. i own the book, but i dont own the movie yet. i need to see tim burtons movie tho, it sounds really cool. i ♥ Alice In WonderLand soooo much. fav movie ever, but the book can be a little distubing at times. the baby was very weird and i didnt get it all, all that pepper?? and the movie was kinda dumb at times, like twiddle dee and dumb. dumb and dumber....
A lot say Burton's style equals Lewis Carroll's book in every way, and I'm scared that because of this, I'm worried his version will very much overtake this 1951 Disney version as the most famous adaptation. It will be like a movie milestone when it comes out.
Another thing I am afraid of is that Tim Burton is recently making a movie adaption of Alice in Wonderland. I'm worried that by the time he releases it in 2010, it might exceed this movie as the most popular movie adaption of Alice in Wonderland.

If not, try to make a discovery for me, and when you do, contact me in my Inbox and give me the details and instructions to do so. If not, I'll do what I said in my earlier comment, okay?
Dark side of the rainbow actually meant something. Pink Floyd's songs changed the story into something completely different. This just syncs up alright.
I kind of don't like the fact that you can copy and paste Pink Floyd albums to movies like on a Microsoft Office document. It's not that Pink Floyd are a bad group or anything (in fact I like Pink Floyd), it's just I don't know why I don't like it. This makes me what to record an album from my band to sync to this movie as a response to Pink Floyd, but I'm afraid of one thing: accusation.
All great bands/people/teams face accusation in one form or another. The best way to deal with that is to be prepared and anticipate any verbal attacks that might come your way. The other thing is that you can always do a 'test run' here on YouTube and see what people think without having to face anyone directly. Good Luck to you and I hope everything goes well. If you do decide to make it, let me know b/c I would love to give you constructive criticism on it.
Well they do say it was based on an opium induced hallucination which is probably due to the Victorian obsession to using opium (heroin)to cure all manner of ills
dude,i'm sorry, but i've seen this synched better. maybe it was because i was ridiculously high, but shouldn't 'snapshot in the family album' happen right when she looks through the book...?
Your talking about a 6 second difference...To make that part sync exactly would compromise the DVD. EX: The bluebird at 4:04, Don't be surprised, when a crack in the ice" as Alice sticks finger into the water creating ripples then the lyric 'appears' the white rabbit appears. As soon as she falls it starts a brick in the wall and the whole time in the backround as she falls there is a brick wall. 6:19 at the loud high strum she turns on the light
It's probably more accurate just to say that Pink Floyd's music is visually palpable, instead of trying make literal connections to cartoons. Their music will synch up with just about any moving picture that is three dimensional, scenic and colorful.
The funniest thing is that naysayers are quick to reference apophenia and the fact that it would be hard to hit the needle just right on a vinyl to get it to sync up...But digital technology in the form of laserdiscs was shown to the public in 1972...dark side is released in 73...the technology was definitely available for The Wall...not to mention CompactDisc was about to be released too

Here are a few possibilities of it:
1. Tim Burton is widely known to be a gifted movie director and because of it, he knows how to make a great movie.
2. Tim Burton's version is also going to be a Walt Disney Pictures film like this movie.
3. Johnny Depp is starring in the upcoming movie, and he is one of the hottest actors in the world.
4. Despite this movie being a classic, it's normally not appreciated by the public and even Tim Burton himself hates it.

4:47 "crack in the ice" and she touches the water creating a ripple
5:05 the rabbit runs away when it kicks in
5:54 she falls down when another brick part 1 starts, mellower music
6:25 "snapshot in the family album" she looks in a mirror (stretch?)
6:39 to 6:48 cool connections; she falls out right at the "me"
9:34 part two kicks in when she starts getting bigger

2. A Blue Jay flies by the first time he says "Baby blue"
3. Alice is carrying the cat like a baby when he says "Momma loves her baby"
4. As soon as the rabbit apears, Waters mentions "You slip out of your depth and out of your mind"
5. When she starts floating down the hole, you hear "Daddy's flown across the ocean"

So how do I know if this is on my DVD version. Is it some secret bonus, or is it advertised on the box.
sleepwalker29 3 years ago
It isn't you have to synch the music yourself.

The Wall also works with Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (the classic one)
BlowoutBob 4 years ago
Actually, Rush's 2112 album can work well with Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
