  • @ashleydanielleish ... and girls should not have short hair and wear pants? Oh puleeze

  • ENGLISH: Meadows, cover up with flowers, lilies, cover your leaves! Behold the Bridegroom comes from Lebanon to relax in the gardens. Winds, run a quick breath, open your wings with a soft rustle! And the green shadows, breezes with your quivering Fly here, help, do germinate, pollinate all these lovely groves, then fans, troops flattering, my beloved!

  • thank you so much!

  • @kostyel you're welcome :)

  • I've found the translation of the lyrics in French: Prés, couvrez-vous de fleurs, lys, couvrez-vous de feuilles !
  • Does anyone have the lyrics and what they mean? I can manage to understand latin a bit but i don't have the lyrics (or is it an early modern version of Italian? since italian was the diplomatic language back then)

  • @kostyel It's latin - Florete prata, Frondete lilia.

Ergo veni, campi flos, dulcis aura, Cæli ros. Me non fol, non cæca nox delectat. Veni amor, Veni vita, Mundi Salus infinita. Et languenti, suspiranti, Da solamen te amanti.

  • amazing!!!!

  • very nice, good countertenor, beautiful voice

  • wonderful.....why is Campra so little popular?

  • 'cause, the most people dislike french baroque music.......it's poor :P

  • che incantevole cornice dorata di note musicali!

  • amazing!!!!

  • Jay Carter has improved so much since I last heard him (2 years ago), I had to give him 5 stars, and by the way his vocal moves from head to chest are quite well done. Thanks for the video!

  • Yes, indeed. If your chest register is that well integrated and sounds that pleasant, why not use it? (@gabohuaroc). If you can't get a true haute-contre, then a counter-tenor with a decent gearchange is a more than acceptable substitute.

  • A smooth move from head to chest for some countertenors is not an easy thing to attain. Even professionals do not always have that sckill, but the better ones such as Chance, Scholl, Daniels do it quite smoothly, but that's one reason to place them at the top of the list!

  • Qué gracia y elegancia!!! La música barroca es lo mejor de este Universo... felicitaciones a los instrumentistas y al contratenor. La composición de Campra está muy buena

  • Doesn't sound bad, but for my evil ears the voice shift at the beginning is too 70s... but as long as he feels comfortable, it's ok. Lucky to have such a nice ensemble.

  • There are many who would say that we've had very few CTs who were willing to make the shift in the last 25 or so years. Perhaps more 70's singing would be nice!

  • Ecce tonus luminosus, ecce vox formosa!

Ce ton luminos, ce voce frumoasa !

¡Qué tono luminoso, qué voz hermosa!

Ché tono luminoso, ché voce bella!

Quelle tonalité lumineuse, quelle belle voix !

What a luminous tone, what a beautiful voice!

  • Nice countertenor. I like his lower register.

  • Great piece, wonderfully sung by this especially musical and manly countertenor, what a pleasure it was to hear this!

  • que bela voz!
