It stayed long enough for me to put my Fuji 10 megapixel still camera on a tripod. The video function of the camera only has auto focus which can be distracting & awful in the audio track.
Not to worry about peoples pets, as this was a very large rat that couldn't run fast enough.
The tree is located off Muir Rd. on Mission Hill, North Courtenay.

Great Video. Good steady camera work. Good clear shot. Focus is working overtime to keep the owl in the foreground.
That must be a rabbit because it is too big to be a rat or a squirrel. Hope it wasn't the neighbour's cat.
Where exactly is this oak tree?
We were woken up last night out here Dove Creek way by a pair of these barred owls simultaneously calling.
