With GOD ALL things are possible. With Mr. Hitchens.....nothing. Human's choice to SIN is why we lost our dominion over the earth. Please don't be fooled by this poor frightened man. Instead pray for him.
How will prayer help accelerate anyone to heaven? I never understood that. How is it fair that one poor sap who has nobody praying for them will burn, but a morally repugnant person who has plenty of people praying for them gets to go to heaven. Utterly ridiculous.
Show me single discover or enlightenment of knowledge that has ever been made or furthered by band-aiding god's name in place of an unknown? If such a thing exists it is merely accidental and ironic.
"Making conclusions about what you think is reality" is EXACTLY what we humans have been doing before we bothered to record our history and reflections. It also why we've killed each other in the name o' gawd since then.
"Phantom leaf" experiments are non-scientific. There is no paranormal evidence of the claimed phenomena. Like crystal balls, chakras, unicorns, etc. they're total bullshit. Otherwise, real scientists of all stripes would be harnessing that power and seeing results.
It's just another product of wishful thinking by new-age types.
Cfibb, I'm sure whichever douche you were responding to was indeed a moron, but sceptic & skeptic are both accepted spellings - in fact, my spellchecker is right now telling me that the k is wrong and the c is right - I guess it's a british/australian/american differentiation.
Regarding the video, wow, I'm so ripping that bit about churches having to give evolution equal time in their services, that's so spot on. If you want religion in our science class, put science in your religion lessons :D
Totally. You're right about sceptic/skeptic. Funny - my spell checker here indicates the opposite of your results. It is a British/Australian/American differentiation, like colour/color.
And yeah, I was responding to a dummy (whose posts seem to have since been deleted). Couldn't help myself.
We all colloquialize (and often ebonisize) on the Internet in the effort to shorthand, keep it playful, etc. And we all make errors. But sometimes you just have to step in and help a brother out. :-)

Hitchens gets a few things wrong. Early humans had pretty good teeth before sugar and farming. 2) With small human populations there were not many diseases until farming and urbanization came later.
I would have asked Mr. Collins why, after 100 million years, he thinks God would reveal himself in an ambiguous waterfall display. People looking for answers who 'find God' claim to have investigated most faiths, yet in their search they've already given credence to the idea that the answer must lie in a deity. Much how a girl might fishes for compliments, simulating modesty, others 'fish' for God, claiming to be looking for truth. This is why even Mr Collins can "find God in a lump of coal".
but he is a little off when he argues that mysticism isn't reconcilable with science.
and he won't mention any talk of the life force. which is what modern science is all about. unless its dogmatic. how can it forget, how can it ignore what underlies all argumentation and reasoning. all action. and so on.

another brain dead sceptic trying to play science. Explain the phantom leaf experiments then please? Making conclusions about what you think is reality is not science.
It's funny how you are ALL wrong. Baal's wrath will be great when he finds his children have begun to use their heads and are thinking for themselves. Oh and all the christians, jews, bhuddists etc. There will not be any orgies for any of you!! P.S on the third day Baal said 'Let there be eukaryotes'.
No that waterfall wasn't proof of the trinity. It was proof of the invisible pink three-horned unicorn! (The three-horns-is-one-horn doctrine is proven reconcilable by various rambling books by theologians, I've vaguely heard). What else could it be but a mark by Her Horniness?
He articulates the matter very well, everthing I've always thought, and was ridiculed here in the midwest for saying.A real soldier for the cause, hitchens is.

In addition to the shitty grammar displayed, the word skeptic is spelled wrong.

There is also good evidence that malaria is a largely human expansion disease also. I will come back and post links as I come across them.

By 'life force' to you mean to imply that which we obtain from our precious bodily fluids?

I can't get enough of listening to Hitchens. Poor theists sliced thru with his sharp wit... I feel bad for them sometimes that he's on our side. :)
