@gottolearnhowtodance It is indeed but it seems the intensity of the errors are different between cards. Just noticed this, although it still occurs on my 460 it's hardly noticeable at all.
are we sure that this isn't vga card faulty? I have also very poor texture on the snow and it's ranning on gtx 580 with latest driver, very strange but I have no problem with other games
@mukurop1 Like I've said I've tested this on a 8800gt, 5750, GTX 260, GTX460 and I've also tried it on a gts250 and a 5770. It happens on all of them.
I've tried most of them in 2 different rigs which both work flawlessly outside of metro 2033 so I can say with confidence that the problem is the game engine NOT anything hardware related.
I got the same problem with gtx 580, I notice strange green-purple-yellow point light like the ones on this video only when I have on hand the dynamite. All my system is no overclocked.
I just got metro and have been having the same issue with my 5870 as well. I'm about an hour in and have only noticed it on the wristwatch so far. Have you been able to fix it?
@skimowhite586 If you didn't see it in Metro 2033 then you might well have corrupt VRAM. Just because you have a new card doesn't mean it's not damaged...
@tinymouse2 i think i might but i have worse problems the shadows in metro 2033 are weird they move wheni move the mouse up and down, i think the drivers are the problem but might also be also i get weird stutters in screen in maxed out 1080p but thats because of somethign else oh and what are shaders clock in nvidia does amd not have them
@skimowhite586 Shadow and skybox issues are usually related to the memory clock being to high. I would strongly suggest lowering the memory clock to see if that eliminates the problem. Also lower the core clock just to see if that makes a difference.
Basically keep lowering stuff, monitoring temps and generally tweaking stuff to see if you can remove the problems.
If you can't then it's either the card is damaged or, more likely, the game has a problem.
Good to know it's not only me, I have SLI'd 9800gt's and I randomly get black texture squares and red lights that zip around shit randomly... Fuckin' annoying
If it's not like this then there's something wrong.
Black texture squares indicate either a slow texture load rate (so memory clocks are to low), overloaded memory (memory clocks are to high) or corrupt VRAM.
The red shizzle is either to high core clocks or just a problem with the game.
I have the same issue with this game with a Radeon 5770 GPU. Hours and hours of ATI Tool or OCCPT shows no artifact so it's the game. I've also saw others glitches in the graphic.
Yeh exactly the same as me then. I've now tested a couple of other GPUs (8800GT and a 5750) and exactly the same thing is happening.
I'm blaming an unstable engine but it only seems to occur on some system setups. For example when I put the 8800 and teh 5750 into an old AMD dual core @ 2.2GHz there was no artifacting at all (it could barely run the game but it was a good test)
Also noticeable on other SMGs and also noticeable on the watch, gas mask and sometimes on shadows. Never happens on static objects so I'm thinking an engine flaw.

@mukurop1 Yeah your graphics card is fine. It's just a game engine issue.
It's happening on my new 460 as well.

@topgunmv Try the latest patch. If that doesn't work then tough :P
It's just a very buggy engine, think nothing of it. The game isn't that good anyway, more of a benchmark.

that kinda looks cool i have seen that before on my screen cant remmeber were but i have hd 6850 so id dont have to worry about that

I just bought this game on steam, weekend deal. And getting this too. I was thinking my graphics card was getting too hot but it wasnt that.
I have a ATI Radeon 4870x2 and was getting the red, green flashing dots too

@maingon
Yeh don't worry about it. It seems that the artifacts are completely random.
Like I said, tested a load of cards that were all fully working and fine. Some of them gave errors, some didn't.
tinymouse2 1 year ago
Turning off forced AA got rid of artifacts for me, if that helps.

Everything is auto in the Nvid control panel so I doubt it's that.

lower your memory clock
crackeddoutt 1 year ago
It's as low as it can possibly go.
The severity is the same no matter what I go for.
825, 1100, 1200, 1212 always the same.
I think it's just an engine issue since it doesn't happen in ANY other game or app.
