@onepieceofpieplease I use all of the drums and cymbals here...I won't use them if the song or style doesn't require it but I find a use for every drum when playing any prog or covering a band where the drummer has a large drumset, such as Carter Beauford of DMB, any of Mike Portnoys bands etc.
@XPdouble07 Haha, believe me, its a painful struggle through the narrow gap between the floor tom and the wall!! I might dig a tunnel haha...And cheers! =]
Whats the advantage of having the second bass drum? If anything it should be a disadvantage no? Trying to tune up the two to sound the same and having to lug it around everywhere.
@barryenright2320 Hup Barry, the advantage of having a second bass drum is that firstly they don't have to sound the same, infact it produces a better sound if they're slightly different. Secondly my double bass pedals right pedal didn't produce as much power or response as the left pedal while these have equal power and also the pedal tended to move away on me (Thats just down to me having a dodgy double bass pedal but its still an improvement!). And...It looks cool, haha
@barryenright2320 the advantage of a second double bass drum is that it lets the drum "breathe" if its only been hit by one beater at a time, if u know what i mean. Dave Lombardo said it himself. But other than that i don't really see any difference. I mean it looks more metal but not a necessity. I might buy a second bass drum but i'll see..if i don't get a chance then im grand out with the single one =D
@sohaib785 Ah yeah, not a chance would I gig this kit! Or record it for that matter unless I get a few more drum mics haha...I'll use my old setup for that and use this set up for all my videos!

@sohaib785 Another advantage of it, although it doesn't matter given I have a rack, but the ability to attach toms to the second bass drum might come in handy. My double bass pedal was a flimsy ancient thing so its a big improvement for me! There's definitly more to it than aesthetics but ya, if you have a decent double bass drum, as you said it aint a necessity!
@PhantomMaster yea thats defo an advantage actually. Im thinking of buying a second bass drum too. Gotta save up for it though..and a rack aswell..cause im sick of all the stands and shit. A rack would be much handy. and yea my double bass pedal is ancient aswell..Need to buy a new one. I'll probably buy the new tama speed cobras or demon drives. Need to save up a good bit for those anyway
Ugh that's beautiful <3

On the plus side....it looks cool!

@barryenright2320 they don't need to be tuned the same...you can easily have them sounding differently :>

@sohaib785 just really means you have to lug more to a gig and more chance of somthing going wrong.
If you got a car your sorted though.
barryenright2320 1 year ago
@barryenright2320 yea true i suppose. you'd be better off to use a single bass drum when gigging.
