About 2 songs later, that black raincloud that came over the hill opened up and the rain came down in sheets like i never seen before, hence 1989 was the Creation Mudfest.
This was the first of 3 Creations I would attend in 89-93-96, at Mount Union, Shirleysburg, Pa.
Do you have the Margret Becker video on here, from this album? you can hear me cheering her on in the beginning, I was only 20 feet away on the grasses.
Wow, I was right at the front of the stage as well, working security. I met Margaret becker about 6 years later and mentioned Creation 89 and her response was "and you survived?"
Is that Kerry Livgreen on organ? And what's the drummers name, he looks familiar. In fact I would appreciate knowing all the members names if anyone knows. Thanx
I was at this concert, and yes, it was all about the mud! We were sliding down the hill in it, and it was fun. I was 14 (now 32)... such good memories!
I have a bootleg cassette of this (broadcast over the radio at the event) and also the CD they released the following year.
The lineup was Rick Cua on bass, Phil Keaggy on guitar, Randy Stonehill on guitar and lead vocals, Margaret Becker on guitar (is she even plugged in?) and backing vocals, Joe English on drums, Mike Mead on percussion, John Andrew Schreiner on keys.
i havent seen anything of joe english aside from "wings" which aint shabby..but i think he is a great drummer.i would love to see some more.great guitar player too..thanks
I volunteered that year...driving a tractor towing out campers and vehicles stuck in the mud. It was AWESOME!!! A lot of fun had by all. I am even on the video. I lost my copy of it over the years and have been looking to get another copy of it....anyone have one or know where I can get it?
I stood there in the rain during that show. I can remember exactly where I was standing when I watched them play this song. So many memories. By the way, this festival was called Mudfest '89 by anyone who went, because so many shows and so many campsites were washed away in the mud. In years since, they've cancelled the fest when it got even close to that bad. But in 89, they weren't prepared for it. However, a good time had by all regardless.
Thank you sooooo much for this! If you have anymore of Uncle Rand and band *please* post more. This is absolutely the best! How cool to see John Andrew Schreiner! He's been with Fernando Ortega for several years and doing great stuff!
I want you all to notice the rain that is pouring down the audience. Umbrellas can clearly be seen, but notice the rain! You know when music is Phabulous when multitudes will stand in the rain to listen.
I love this - being in Australia I haven't seen Randy in concert for a looooong time (just missed him this year) and I've ALWAYS missed Phil!!! (Dabnabbit!) You fellas in the states have SUCH a RICH opppotunity to see these guys frequently (depending upon where you live) - ENJOY!!!
Rick Cua on base guitar, Randy Stonehill lead vocals, Margaret Becker blonde female playing guitar, multiple drummers and keyboard player I don't reckognize.
The guy sitting behind Stonehill playing drums is Joe English, and the keyboard player is John Andrew Schreiner (although I'm probably spelling his last name wrong). This is great! Thanks for sharing this!
I have the audio CD,wish they would have put out a full video as well.

Awesome! Best music festival in the world. Best guitarists in the world. Best child advocacy group in the world!
I have the CD " 1 by 1" Live - Compassion All Star Band (Sparrow-Star Song)
I don't remember where I purchased it. I missed Creation that year.
"Who Will Save The Children" a must hear, but on this CD, Randy makes a heartfelt plea for Compassion children.
Listen to it. "I dare you" (Randy quote)

If you put Crossroads in the title and tags it would get more exposure.
(As you know, it's Crossroads by Robert Johnson and recorded by Cream)
