I could not believe what one of these look like inside. Its a regular ATX style mass produced motherboard with a shit audio board, I would not pay more than $300 for one of these pieces of garbage. No offense but this board was a major rip off and its no wonder it failed so badly. its nothing more than a soft synth in a fancy case.

I think this is the only video with the Neuron showing off it's true capabilities. Not just clangy percussion sounds, But beautiful pads and strings.

A very unique synthesizer which in some ways had it all wrong.  It is very difficult to model on these things, and they are unreliable.

I'm just a amateur, but still I have to say, Neuron emits the sounds no synth can emit. I think it's a very good machine for ambient and IDM.

The neuron has a very metallic tone in case someone never played with one..and the Hard Drives tend to die..like mine did!

@ig88sir It seems to have a very warm and organic tone to it also though, sounds like something amon tobin would use. I so wish I could I get one that works well, I thought of downloading the vs, but it doesn't have the surround sound.

Neuron is just a PC-based Pentium III, limited amount of RAM and hard disk running Linux and an application based on neural networks. Concept is great, design is great, sounds are so-so (except a very good exceptions), support was absolutely awful (sorry guys). I have tried it 5 years ago in a proper studio for 2 hours. At that time it went for 5000 euros, which is SAD. For 5000 euros I wanted MUCH MORE.

the build'in RAM was damaged, the neuron was running sometimes well and sometimes bad => freeze and cracking sounds!

after the memory modifications with new 1GB "high-end" RAM(!!) the neuron is purring like a cat... :) .. the multimode works well, too! :))))
