But they have had the tax cuts since the Bush era, and still unemployment rises or stays up and stagnant. So what exactly are the tax cuts doing, except making the country lose revenue? Am I missing something or is it working and I'm just not seeing it? Same with the tax breaks to big corps, they get the cuts but still don't make a dent in unemployment.

Roads, sidewalks, buildings, power plants, bridges, etc. Increasing construction is a quick, easy, extremely beneficial way to put people to work and improve the physical component of our nation.

The banks won't loan money, they make safe money holding it because this administration started paying the banks to hold the money. General overall confidence and contentment of the country is poor, resulting in more ppl not spending. I am in the housing industry, and even the rich aren't spending much. Other businesses might flourish, good for them.

As my banker and others have told me the gov't pays the banks about 1.2% to hold their cash, unless the loan is heavily secured. Why take the risk when the gov't makes sure you make something on your holdings.

They were able to write-off all the expenses of doing it. I was appalled when the GOP stopped Obama from closing that loophole. Also they blocked TARP money to community banks for small business loans...that really hacked me off. The GOP is for Big business but not for small business (in my experience).

But they have had the tax cuts since the Bush era, and still unemployment rises or stays up and stagnant. So what exactly are the tax cuts doing, except making the country lose revenue? Am I missing something or is it working and I'm just not seeing it? Same with the tax breaks to big corps, they get the cuts but still don't make a dent in unemployment.

Obama is a sellout to the corporations and the banks. He extended the Bush tax cuts, kept the Patriot Act, failed to re-regulate Wall Street strongly enough, and embraced his opponents who will never vote for him while abandoning his supporters.

There needs to be mandatory passing of science tests for all Congress members. Failure means eliminating their right to vote on critical science-based issues such as climate change and relation pollution and carbon emissions regulations. Congress members must be trained to make competent and useful decisions on the most critical issue facing humanity and the community of all individuals of all species on this ONE EARTH we have to live on together. The banks won't loan money, they make safe money holding it because this administration started paying the banks to hold the money. General overall confidence and contentment of the country is poor, resulting in more ppl not spending. I am in the housing industry, and even the rich aren't spending much. Other businesses might flourish, good for them.

@givethemahand I paid for my employees health, got no tax credits (WTF is a tax credit mean anyways, just another bit of lingo to confuse and distract) and they have now priced it out of my capabilities to pay. Most of my techs are young with new families, telling them was real fun.
As my banker and others have told me the gov't pays the banks about 1.2% to hold their cash, unless the loan is heavily secured. Why take the risk when the gov't makes sure you make something on your holdings.

They were able to write-off all the expenses of doing it. I was appalled when the GOP stopped Obama from closing that loophole. Also they blocked TARP money to community banks for small business loans...that really hacked me off. The GOP is for Big business but not for small business (in my experience).

Under Chapter Seven, the Council has broader power to decide what measures are to be taken in situations involving "threats to the peace, breaches of the peace, or acts of aggression". In such situations, the Council is not limited to recommendations but may take action, including the use of armed force "to maintain or restore international peace & security". Decisions taken under Chapter Seven as such are binding on UN members.
It's an obligation.

During the Korean and Vietnam wars, the United States found itself involved for many years in situations of intense conflict without a declaration of war. Many members of Congress became concerned with the erosion of congressional authority to decide when the United States should become involved in a war or the use of armed forces that might lead to war.
The US was there ON THEIR OWN!

Teachers, Police, Firefighters, City workers, Road Construction, Small businesses shedding 2-3 jobs here,5-6 jobs there. Industrial Manufacturing slow down due to the economic recession shed EASILY a Million or so jobs!
There is where all your job losses are. The construction industry however is the HUGE one, b/c it impacts EVERYTHING up the chain.
