mj said only kobe deserves the comparison..for mj to say that is great for him & kobe..i do not question his statement, in fact i so welcome it & i think Kobe deserves it all this time♥
it is not about who is better..because i will say this again " i can't find a reason to put kobe in front of mj"..i mean really, you just have to watch mj's games..from rookie to wizards..he is just in a different level♥ For him being in the same level as mj..it is an accomplishment itself!♥
39 years old and he shot 58% with 41 points and seriously...up against guys whom were in their primes, lmao. Its not even a question that MJ would've dominated in this era, he would have dominated in ANY era of the NBA. However the proof is that he played in the most competitively and talented era of the NBA 80's-90's, nuff said.
For those that watched MJ during the late 80s and early 90s, you would notice that MJ became a jump-shooter in his days with the Wizards. As a Bull, MJ was more of a slasher...like LeBron James. It's amazing to me how when he had big games as a Wizard, it was mainly on jumpshots with very few points in the paint.
"MJ became a jump-shooter in his days with the Wizards"
That's where you're wrong..he started doing that well B4 his days as a Wizard.
He started becoming more of a jumpshooter around '93, because that's when his freakish athleticism started to fade. During the 2nd 3-peat, he was 55% jumpshooter & 45% slasher due to a decrease in athleticism, and STILL managed to consistently post 49-50% shooting seasons..
Haha, "Floor" Jordan, that was sweet ;o) Like Michael said, this is the wise way to play bball, and I call it "Tai Chi basketball"; because he knows how to succeed and dominate the game with less energy. What a play!
i remember this game like it was yesterday it was funny to me cuz my moms n stepdad was agruing wit each other then jordan started to heat up he hit the first 3 n when he hit the second one they started cheering...screamin like go jordan..n yes!!!
man if jordan played on a better team he coulda won 7 titles its fucking ridiculous that robert horry has more than jordan he doesnt even deserve some of those
@RandomTimes08 its just being in the right place at the right time thats all..but in Horrys defense he is better then most of the guys that were on the bulls when they won titles. there was a time after 98 when Jud Buchler had 3 rings and Horry had 2 and Horry is a much better player in general.
this was my favorite game of his comeback. first time we'd seen him play since june 98, and he was awesome. but really i wish he never played for the wizards, it was weird seeing him as just good, not great. i say if he had the itch to play he should have just played the pre season, then cut from team by himself, or something. basically i wish this was the only game he played for the wizards...
Quite honestly, this was my favorite MJ game ever...I was so amped about the comeback and then he delivered this masterpiece...It was like the 2nd coming...To see my childhood idol(and CLEARLY the best bball player of all time) school today's overpaid and watered-down touch foul league players was magnificent!
imagine KOBE and MICHAEL start there season togeher, what would it be like??? well....simple...KOBE's game wudn't be like the way he is playing right now and the way dominates because of a simple and obvious reason that he is a MICHAEL JORDAN copy cat...am i ryt??? but no disrespect to kobe, im a great fan of his now cause he always reminds me of mj...
there not good tho lol sad to see but they arent like him probably will be sixth mans but it may have skipped a generation jordan's grandkids will be good
it's too bad jordan didn't play on a better team. jordan could have played like this every night if the team could manage his minutes. however, when jordan wasn't out on the floor, the team was too inexperienced to play well without him.
this was pre-season and that is why jordan had this much energy and also he wasn't injured, i remember that somewhere around the middle of 2001-2002 season he got his knees injured and pretty much after his knees got injured he was not able to maintain this type of energy through out his 2002-2003 however he was still able to break some records, for example he is the only 40 year old to ever score more than 40 points overall jordan still played at an allstar level is just his team wasn't good
Nobody had the lethal combo of an outside shot and the ability to get to the rim like MJ. Kobe is simply a poor man's MJ.
Imagine if MJ hadn't injured his knee so bad in his comeback, he would have averaged close to 30 points at age 40, rather than in the mid 20s like he did in his time with the wizards.
Shaq is one of the greatest of all time, but at 35 and injured he only averages about 17 ppg. Jordan still averaged about 30 ppg at that age, and dropped 40 several times after turning 40
dam imagine if he did not retire twice and just played through all those years he would of made records that would of surpassed kareem that nobody in there right mind could catch. and he would have probably 9 championships maybe more because they chicago team would of stayed together for so many more years and not just crumbled like it did right after he left.
I dont no who is more of a Micheal Jordan fan then i am but i no there will never be a man that comes to the NBA at anytime and makes a impact as much as he does this is my idol and there will never be another JORDAN ever
Jordan by far is the best ever please don't even mention Kobe cause he is no where near Jordan. Jordan in his prime today would eat up zone d. Average 40 for sure today. MJ=GOAT
I just got an account on youtube to post some michael jordan games from his last season and I have them on vhs and don't know how to convert them so I can put them on youtube. Can someone help.
there would never ever ever be another larry bird. same w/ mike. there would never ever ever ever be another michael jordan. not kobe, not lebron, hell not wade
dwade is a good player but he will never ever ever ever ever ever evr ever ever ever ( sound familiar? :) )be as good as jordan... i mean jordan is... a legend really
I love how genuine his intensity is. All u see today is punks acting like gangstas hitting their chests acting like they're the s"#t. Thats one of the things i always liked about Mike and one i dont see in any of today's big players - he was as natural as his talent.
It gives me chills everytime I think what MJ would do in today's league if he were in his prime. Horror films has nothing on MJ when the game is on the line.
we know he has the hops, athletic ability but most of all he was a very smart player on the court and thats why he had over 40 points over the age of 40.
I swear If Michael Jordan at 25 played in today's league, They would not even remember Kobe, or Lebron.
It's very scary to think how much he would dominate the league with his lean, athletic, and long 1985-1989 body that I swear could dunk on anybody. Can you just imagine, that fierce looking face, them golden necklaces, that signature tongue, At least 35 Points Per Game if he played today.
if MJ was still in his prime today he'd destroy the entire league KOBE included, Drexler was a better defender than Kobe and we all saw what his airness did to him back in 92
At this rythm i can see Michael takin the Wizards deep in the playoffs. But then the injuries screwed what could have been 2 more historical seasons for MJ
Yeah if MJ was a bit younger he would still own everyone. Thing is that at this stage, he was really scoring primarily from field. Those are real points, and not the ones you get on the free throw line. So he was really scoring and not just getting gimme points.
don't forget that when MJ was getting in playing shape before his 2nd comeback, Artest broke his rib (after 3 years absence you know MJ was working HARD to get into shape similar to how much he improved for the 95/96 season)So an injury like that would have set him back a lot at that time period (season was a month away)
michael doing this at the age of 38.mike would own anybody in the nba today if he was in his prime.he has the jumpers working here and also the fades.if he was in his prime,he would add that explosiveness and speed and that will clear everything
yeah..that was the game he was wearing the jordan blue, white elephant print 3´s.loved it when he was playing for my home team.he really changed the wizards organization.made us winners and gave us something to cheer for in the D.C. area.
Great edit. This was MJ tuning up before his return to the game BEFORE HE HURT HIS KNEE. MJ was in even better form than this before he went down with the broken ribs. However, if not for the knee, this version of MJ was only going to get better at age 38+. ESPN predicted he would get the scoring title at age 40 if not for the knee injury. As always, unreal.
Thanks. You are right too, I remember MJ saying after consecutive his 51 and 45 point games in 2001 that this was the way he was playing prior to him breaking his ribs. Damn Artest!
If MJ could do this on one leg (as he did in the 2002-2003 season) can you imagine what he would do playing today if he was at his physical peak?
Artest said he felt like garbage after the ribs accident. He said MJ would have averaged 30 and the Wiz would have made the playoffs. Judging by this video, he was right on. I mean, the way MJ is moving here - he didn't come close to this leg-wise after the knee injury - even in his other 40 and 50 point games as a Wiz. We were robbed of something truly ridiculous but at least it happened here instead of during his prime.
until today i saw your reply; interesting, right?. there is only one answer to your question: he would kill anyone, he would destroy any defense, he would just be the best..he would just be MJ...
U can't artificially recreate a legend. It'll only come across as disingenuous & contrived -- which is what it looks like the league tries to do with these young players of today, while the league continues to "try" and find an "heir" apparent that makes them feel as good about b-ball as MJ did. The league "desperately" wants that feeling & appeal back..
mj said only kobe deserves the comparison..for mj to say that is great for him & kobe..i do not question his statement, in fact i so welcome it & i think Kobe deserves it all this time♥
