  • So that's how to transfer to a secondary I only just started and was hesitant about trying to move it to a secondary container.

  • @ryanh02 there is still a lot of debate around the risks involved. Unless it's a longer secondary or you're doing something like dry-hopping, I would just leave it in primary.

  • Thanks!

I have never owned a mini-fridge so I would have no idea. I would not drill into the sides or the back. I'm sure the door is fine and probably the top but that's just speculation.

  • Great video man, do you know where the cooling hoses are for a GE mini fridge? Making a kegarator and don't wanna run into the heating elements.

  • Don't apologize. We all have questions. There is a saying when using Star-San: "Don't fear the foam." Star San only works as a sanitizer at a pH of 3 or below (acidic). As soon as you introduce wort or beer onto it, the pH raises instantly too high to be effective. It actually acts as a nutrient at that point. Don't rinse the foam! If you do, the surfactant characteristic of Star-San is negated and you are no longer sanitized.

  • You mentioned leaving the foam from the sanitizer in the secondary fermenter while racking down. Is this not a bad idea? Sorry, I am still learning !
