  • Yo Dawg, we heard you like emulators, so we put an emulator on your emulator so you can game while you game :)

  • @MrKingclumsy It's an emulator within an emulator! Emulatorception! lol

  • Wine is like Java. Java is a JIT compiler (which is an interpreter until it is more efficient to run the code compiled), so Wine would be a JIT emulator.

  • This is the best system I can emulate.

Gamecube and up lags like craZy :/

  • wine is not an emulator, it mostly translates windows code to linux...

  • emulating an emulator huh. i tried and it doesnt work a fraction of the speed that it does on windows. get mupen64plus works just fine

  • @adamvanderneut WINE will not decrease your performance much, I used to play WoW on Linux with all the settings cranked up on my self build PC. the fps is no different, WINE plays WOW at FULL speed

  • sudo apt-get fucked

  • I CaN HaCk AgAiN!!!!!!!

(but I'll probably need to update my graphics card for wine)

    You're a life saver! Thank a million.

  • sudo apt-get install mupen64plus

^-Native way to play n64 roms in Ubuntu Lucid Lynx or newer.

  • @asmith4726 I would use Mupen64plus but donkey kong 64 doesnt work :(

  • HElp when i try to open a game whit wine i only see a wihte thing

  • Any lag? Would it run on Linux Mint?

  • Dolbhin is a wii emulator too could you post video about playin wii games in linux?

  • Wine just adds compatability to your system by allowing you to run windows executables. It doesn't emulate a Windows system. Only some of its capabilities.

  • The people who created WINE said it stand for Wine Is Not an Emulator!

  • Even though there's no sound, I can still hear the sound effects in my head. I've played this game waaaaay too much. :P

  • So you can run gaming emulators using wine?

  • wine is for any win apps not just game dude

  • @shiznetlcd Yeah but good luck getting the off shelf programs to work with wine.

Games seem to have more compatibility with wine then programs do.

  • @autonomous2010 yea but the point is it still supports programs

  • Please tell me what plugins you used! Thanks

  • GFX: Jabo's Drect3D 8 1.6

    Sound: Jabo's DirectSound 1.6

    Input: Jabo's DirectInput7 1.6

    :)

  • emulating emulator XD on 8.10 works standard wine -.-

  • WINE Is Not an Emulator ;P

  • @DaweyYT Wine is a windows emulator. By definition an emulator is something that replicates another system. It definitely falls into the emulator category.

  • To simply call it an emulator is wrong. It doesn't replicate another system completely, like a game emulator does.

  • @DaweyYT It emulates system programs, though. Project64 doesnt emulate a Nintendo 64, It replicates a GAME on the n64, aka, Wine emulates a program on the windows computer.

  • Wine is not an emulator, it's a compatibility layer.

  • why no sound?

  • My RecordMyDesktop settings are causing it. I have sound.

  • nice, but i have had trouble installing wine (im new to linux) i have tried using guides, i dont know which version or what to type in the termanil thing to install it (scripts guides give me dont work for me). maybe you can help me out a bit sometime.

  • What Ubuntu version are you using? If you are using Hardy or Intrepid, go to WineHQ and follow their excellent guide to add Wine to the repositories.

  • i figured it out by actually looking at the entire wine page for ubuntu, like i said, im new to ubuntu, one of the first things i tried tho was this emulator. the doom95 thing also works well

  • Nice script!

  • the list

whod do you put off jeje

  • so does that mean ps3 can also run this through ubuntu?

  • help me to install i can`t install

  • nice... i have it on windows and i wanna emulate it in my ubuntu. does it run all games like perfect dark and stuff? im gonna get wine and try. thankyou

  • I guess it should work, every N64 game that I know works in Windows works when I use Wine. But I cant guarantee anything.

  • BTW, Wine is not an emulator.

  • i know that lol =/ ive been using emulators since 2002

  • Wine is still an emulator, even if they say it isn't. It's just a very high level emulator, that's all.

  • No, it's not.

"Some people mean by that that Wine must emulate each processor instruction of the Windows application. This is plain wrong. As Wine's name says: "Wine Is Not an Emulator": Wine does not emulate the Intel x86 processor. It will thus not be as slow as Wabi which, since it is not running on a x86 Intel processor, also has to emulate the processor. Windows applications that do not make system calls will run just as fast as on Windows (no more no less). "

  • nice!

  • I hope you liked my video! :)
