  • WOWWW so amazing this is really thrilling........... really, dude? photos are pretty good but how did u get them to be do HD???

  • One uv those horses look kinda skinny. Do ya keep em fed?

  • Hey i think you have an amazing shot but i would've gone to get the horses after the first few minutes of them fighting. These are only pictures not a film so i don't know how long they were fighting for. You probably have different ways of thinking to me though. The horses are looking gorgeous though (:

  • Hi OfficiaBasslineWhore. As it happens my trainer was bringing several men to break them up as I shot. They shouldn't have been in adjacent pens anyway. In the meantime, I've got a Nikon D70, so I was shooting as fast as I could before they broke up. Thanks for the nice comments. Cheers, Johhn

  • rlly awsome photography!!!!! Do you mind telling me what camera you have?

  • Hi, Justtjenna. It's a Nikon D70. And as I recall, I was using a 300mm lens that day.

  • 4:23 For a horse's weight you should be able to FEEL ribs, not see them, or BARELY see them. These horses ARE NOT in shape, they need more meat on them.

  • Comment removed

  • the bay that is doing the biting needs a fit of a "place putting" he needs to learn that this is not wwhat should happen he needs to learn how to get along.

(our stallions had a fight on the truck a month ago and dad gave them a floggen now they behave but it was the taffy stallions fualt he started it and he copped the floggen)

  • whooooa those guys look like they could clear that fence hahaha

  • she all like :leave him alone. he like :ok

  • Look at 3:54 the horse is smiling at you! LOL

  • the lighter horse is too fucking skinny

  • Haha, I love how the 2 bays go over to the fence and the blazed one tries to start shit with the dark bay and gets his ass shown to him, and then the lightest bay just kind of trots off like 'Ha ha, ass hole! He's your problem now!'

And for who ever said these horses are 'so skinny' you're stupid. Do you not see the muscle on there hind quarters and shoulders? When a horse gets too skinny their body starts to break down muscle for energy and they obviously aren't breaking down any muscle!

  • @JenniLynn96 Where on earth did you hear that? That's absolutely not true. Horses need fat on them, when the ribs are showing, they're underweight. Look at U of Texas guide to judging a horse's body condition, and no a Thoroughbred is no different than other breeds when it comes to condition, the condition guide doesn't differentiate.

  • @universalradio

It's common sence. With any animal, if they're underweight, there body breaks down muscle. And yes, horses do need fat on them. Trust me, my horse is fat, yet she still has muscle. But for horses that are out on the track all the time like race horses they work off that fat extremely quickly. Doesn't make them skinny, but doesn't make them fat. They're slinder, and fit.

  • @JenniLynn96 SENCE SENCE SENCE

    1. sence

    1. This is how idiots spell sense, since they have no sense, they can't fucking spell it.

  • @universalradio

Haha, ooh, I miss spelled a word! Actually, I just put the wrong version of a word. Haha. Wow. If you're going to comment, at least try to stay on topic. We aren't talking about my spelling abilities, we're talking about horses. BIG difference. Fucking prick.

  • @JenniLynn96 Actually you mispelt 2 words, sence is not a word in the English dictionary so it is not a different version. Try reading a dictionary next time you try to sound smart. Also your comment that horses out on the track are that thin is a little off don't you think? The racehorse I worked with wasn't that thin, nor the two that attacked people. I don't recall Ruffian, Seabiscuit, Secretariat, Desert Orchid or Red Rum being that thin. FIRST COUPLE OF RIBS SHOULD SHOW NOT THE WHOLE SET

  • @GeordieTerrier

Okay. Hahaha, okay! Look up pictures of all those racehorses running on the track, you can see ribs. I never said the whole set, I just said you can see them. And half those pictures on this video were taken when the horses are turning there body, therefore, ribs show. It's just like win FIT people lean backwards, ribs show.

  • @JenniLynn96 I did when I wrote the first post. I looked up those horses and most of them were turning in the pictures too and still they did not show the full set. I suggest YOU look up pictures of those horses. Besides which I looked at those pictures carefully and the neck muscles aren't right for a fit horse. Those definitely look atrophied, the rest probably hasn't quite started yet.

  • Ok everyone at the barn I ride at we have a thoroughbred and she is much more filled in than these but she has been off the track for well over twenty years so for young horses like these they seem to be healthy and naturally skinny. Also by the way if I were to show you a picture of a friend of mine you would say the same thing about these horses but the thing is he gains no weight like thoroughbreds tend to do.

  • pepcore : I suggest you study the henneke horse body condition scoring chart, before you start claiming horses are too skinny. I work in horse rescue, these horses are very fit and healthy...

  • @susanspice I've studied it, have rescued 3 Thoroughbreds -- those are a little on the underweight side which would be taken care of with more hay available. Also - more food, less fighting/injuries.

  • look how under weight they are you can see there ribs

  • @pepcore1 They're actually not under weight...thoroughbreds are supposed to look like that. With this breed you should be able to see a little of their first couple ribs. These horses look in really good shape...any vet would tell you the same.

  • @Rebelyell6394 They ARE underweight. I have 3 - and they never get like that/ not under constant stress like these horses. There would also be a lot less fighting over the fence if they were supplied with premium hay to eat, which is a miracle food for Thoroughbreds. Keeps them calm, keeps weight on them, keeps their gut healthy. Horses are nomadic grazing animals, all of them, and food should be in their stomach 24/7 because they produce acid 24/7. Empty tum=ulcers 90% Tbreds hav ulcers.

  • Boys will be boys :). Btw to all those people saying that this is animal cruelty. It's not cruel that the horses are fighting - it's natural and horses sometimes play fight too. The cameraman isn't making them fight, nor are they making money from the fighting horses.

Actually it would be cruel to separate the horses.

  • would you anyone tell me what name is this music?

    it is good

  • pics are awesome where in Texas is that at? let me know asp I lived in Texas !!

  • pics are awesome where in Texas is that at? let me know asp

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT WHERE THE FIGHTS AT.. THE ONLY THING BIGGER IN TEXAS ARE UR PUSSY`S

  • WRONG

  • This is dumb!

  • I looks like they are just fighting over dominants, but I don't understand why someone would really want to fight horses or any other animal that is so cruel to do that. If they fight on their own is one thing and may be normal but to make them fight is wrong.

  • the one with the blaze is the one thats causing the tuble

  • echt zielig

  • I really love your photograps!!! They look beautiful

  • i love the photo at 17 sec a lot for some reasonXD

  • who would make such beautiful animals that we love and help disabled people learn to be cruel and hate each other and slaughter who are thoses people if you are reading thing think about what you are doing to the people that love horses

  • These are some great photos thanks for sharing.

  • I dont get why you put cheerful music but nice photo-ogrophy!

  • It seems to me that the tan coloured horse (one with most white patches on his face) is the most arrogant and wants to pick at anyone in order to show his "dominant-ness" ..

nice shoots by the way your an awsome photographist! and im not just saying that to try and be a kiss ass, lol p.s check out the dark bay horse(one on the left) @3:52

  • you know what ima chase you around and kick you in the head what is so funny about a horse getting misstreated

  • @ourswag can i ask y their being misstreated u obv didnt read the description the horses are playing in the fiels and if you new anything about horse u would know that the play rough and stallions never get along their are 2 at my yard and one wants to kick the shit out of the other very time u bring him out of the box

  • Naw they're just playin!

  • 3:27 That is a stunning photo, especially of the horse on the left, like a rebound from battle he's charging back to the fight.

  • Just beautiful, the horses, the photo's, the action. Great!!1

  • At 2:44, I want the horse at the left of the fence to be on my side in a bar fight =D

  • wow your really good at photography

  • Thank you, Horsegirly1765.

    Cheers from Texas, John

  • @bestjonbon which camera did you use?

  • @Horsegirly1765 no its called having a decent camera.

  • I've also heard from folks that most thoroughbreds are hard keepers, and hard to keep weight on, especially ones that have raced.

  • 2:50 made me laugh.

  • As a horse owner since I was about 13 and I'm almost 50 know, I know a fair bit about horses. These horses are playing the way horses do. With the large piles of Hay in evidence, these horses are well fed. Horses will often kick and bite each other when playing. I would just stay out of the way and enjoy the show! No one is getting hurt.

  • lol @ 3:55 He's smiling at the camera!! xD

  • at 2:58: and smaller one trotting away is like "okay, I'm not part of this!"

and the other two are like "Bring It on Buster!!"

  • this i stupid and cruel

  • ohhh ahhh me likes the dark bay on the other side of the fence .... nice g g 's

  • He is not too skinny! thoroughbreds are just naturally skinny and like someone else said it could be in race training or just old, its hard for some thoroughbreds to keep their weight.. so just keep your rude comments to yourselves!

  • the one being chased doesnt even look like he cares!! lol

  • oh heavens, everybody got the message, and stuff happens, and horses will be horses. After you've had to break up stallion fights when they've managed to get in together, this isn't all that bad, just a youngster getting his "comeuppance". Nice vid.

  • are or where these horses recently running on the track as they look like they are in racing shape to me, no extra fat but not skinny in that you can see their hip bones or spinal bones....go to the track and take a close look at the racing thoroughbreds I bet that they look very similar.

  • this is horrible.. nice video though

  • Also it could have been a resued horse that was underfed previously. I'm not denying it's thin.

  • Worry about your own horses people. It does matter about age sex or breed. Just lay off of people. How do you know if it hasn't already gotten his teeth checked or his feed upped? Just be happy that your horses are fat and stop telling people how to run there own lives

  • theses horses are wayyyyy to skinny!!

  • The bay with no markings is too thin. It doesn't matter breed or age, when you can count the ribs and see sunken hip/back bones, it's too thin. Either up it's feed or have a vet check its teeth.

  • Oh dear. Was the fight necessary? And the horses look starved...The one mare has very bad sway-back and was showing her ribs.

  • @Syemaa I ride a thoroughbred but he is naturally skinny.. We feed him tons but he dosent gain any weight! Shes probably like my horse. The other horses look the correct weight so.. yeah

  • kaeso100@

You know, there are idiots ALL over the world ..

  • @Hejmandiz95 Including those who don't read the explanations.

  • Why the hell are two stallions penned next to each other with what appears to be a mare in one paddock??? Great way to injure your horses...well done

  • that ones so skinny :(

  • Awesome Pictures! Should have had naratted it with text ballons! That would have been cute. Beautiful horses also. They look in great shape! Best dang throughbreds I have seen!

  • sorry but that horse is to thin!!! plus they are just playing rough

  • @SuperJessmess This are Throubreds they look thin but the breed in genral does not keep on wight very well

  • A horse is thin whe nyou see his back bone, and those one you don't see. They look okay to me... but some more weight wouldn't kill them.

  • wow texas horses are so hungry they're eating eachother...lol jk jk

  • if you look at 1:30-1:42, it shows very good muscle coverage, these animals are fine.

  • Yeah thoroughbreds are supposed to look like that THATS CRAP I OWN A THOROUGHBRED AND HE IS NOWHERE NEAR THAT SKINNY

  • @Kralisticat4 thoroughbreds do look like that u can overfeed a horse and have a useless chunk of blubber , that is not good health, these horse are in great condition apparently u don't know the breed well enough!!!

  • yes but in the thoroughbred bidness (lol) they tend to over exert them so all they have is muscle and not fat alot of exracehorses tend to not pick weight up good after this is done but not always

  • Comment removed

  • lol it would be fun if there comes a special race for "fat" thoroughbreds :D

  • you captured some really nice pictures:)

  • Thanks, suganurse21 !

  • The horse isn't skinny! You can see its ribs yes but it has perfect comformation, good muscle tone and it's hips or bones aren't sticking out and a decent layer of fat on it, gosh people think the sight of ribs = underfed, my ribs show and I'm certainly not underfed! These horses look healthy and at home as ever :S

  • I agree with Kodaangle. I ride an OTT (for those of that don't know Off Track Thoroughbred) and he was this skinny when we first got him. he eats 2 and a half scoops 2 times a day and 2 flakes daily and is still skinny. The new OTT is also VERY skinny. Get over it. Not all horses are draft horses.

  • Ok, to those of you saying 'feed your horses' Thoroughbreds are NATURALLY skinny. I would know, no matter how much food you give them, unless your thoroughbred is obese, they are going to be 'skinny'. There supposed to be, they were breed to be light and fast. I should know, I've been racing thoroughbreds for about 15 years now.

  • try feeding your horses.. holy crap.

  • wow thst all im gonna say not about the video but about the comments WOW

  • hey look your horses are extremely skinny you need to take care of them they look like they have feecees you need to check up on her or him it looks sick.

  • that horse needs some food, poor thing

  • the one horse is kinda skinny...

  • i saw that 2

  • This is normal equine behaviour where the position in the pecking order is decided by who hits the hardest, not by tearing one another apart. As for the 'skinny' one, do not mistake lean for starved. Tori Silverson is right & I agree with the comment about people who don't have a clue; they would probably have a coronary if they actually witnessed what goes on within a herd of horses. The horses in this video are real horses, not something from a Disney film.

  • o great photos by the way...really good action shots lol

  • @ToriSilverson

Thanks! Always nice to have a viewer who knows horses...

  • ur welcome :)

it annoys me wen people over react at video and complain wen they dont have a clue!

puts a bit of a downer on ur video wen they do that.

  • chill out guys...horses fight its part of their behaviour...they also play rough.

the horse that u can c its ribs...not cruel jus a skinny breed of horse. jus like ppl sone r big boned and some r naturally skinny.

  • The horse is fine. some people can't tell the difference btw playing and fighting. And I already did in my previous answer.

  • You must not like horses how could you watch that your mean soon there will be no horses on the planet and you would be so sad of what you did in the past will efect the future

  • Who are you talking to? Hard to make sense of this one.

  • Dude, there will always be horses as long as there are horse sports and people who can afford it. And, did the two horses KILL each other? No... so chill.

  • Look, I see your point but, really, if you think that no matter how much harm a horse does to another horse, it's ok as long as they dont kill eachother??? Jeeze, man, you are a danger to live on this planet.

  • No, people just act over dramatic like the horses ripped each others throats out, and in the end no one got hurt. And actually, I'm probably one of the more harmless things living on this planet. e.e You don't see me firing bombs at people. The only thing that really bugged me was when mclaughlin12341 said 'There will be no horses...'

  • Well, um, it's kinda nice to prevent pain?

  • that horse is skinni, to skinni

  • i agree many horses like people lose muscle tone and fat as they age espically trim athletic breeds like thoroughbreds it is hard to keep weight on many older horses

  • Who knows what the story might have been with the skinny bay. We once had a chestnut who was OLD and got skinny because of the old age. So naturally nosy people had to go poking around. But we had out vets come out whenever necessary to look at the horses.

  • THANKYOUUUU!!!

    (Y)

  • incase you hadnt noticed, they are thoroughbreds. and as there are 2 thoroughbreds at the field where i ride, and my pony is a TB cross, i know it is very hard to keep weight on that type of horse. i'm sure that people who own TB's would agree. and anyway, this person will most probably be doing all they can to fatten it up.

ALSO, THIS VID WAS POSTED 3 YEARS AGO!!!

  • FULLY AGREEE i own a TB and its very hard to keep weight on them especially in winter!

  • 'themouse247'

shut up, you dont know these horses, the skinny one might have a problem with it, so shush.

i bet if you saw my pony you would complain about her dipped back and really high withers, but she cant help that, its her build, and she is old. so seriously, shuup =)

  • There is no reason to be rude. Maybe indentation was the wrong word to use. The horse actually has decent top line conformation. I was simply stating that there is a lack of fat tissue in that area. Poor confirmation (like sway back) is far different than lack of flesh.

  • ummm, why did you just take pictures instead of stopping them? they were fighting across the fence and they could've gotten a leg stuck, or they could have gotten hooked over it. I kno they're 1,000 lb animals but tb's are high strung so if you had gone up and shouted at them or smacked them that might have spooked them away from eachother temporarily and you could have taken that chance to push them away from the fence, or you could have thrown something, or you could have ran and gotten help.

  • Arabs tend to show ribs most of the time. A lot has to do with what the horse is doing. If it is just standing their grazing? sure a ribby horse would not look that good. But when they are tensed up in a dominance battle here, they will appear more ribby than they actually are. And no, they are not thin or malnourished. If so, their coats would look horrible, top lines would be more pronounced, and hips protruding. This is not the case. A fat horse is a founder case waiting to happen.

  • Beautiful horses! And no, they are not too thin. Most people keep their horses too heavy then wonder why they have foot issues. These are lean, muscular horses and this is about where I keep mine. Top lines are good as well as hips. Beautiful coats to boot. Absolutely beautiful. I keep my horses more on the lean side as well and catch criticism all the time. What is funny is I give the free-choice hay all day, and 3-6 lbs. of grain everyday. Workdays, they get 6-9 lbs. grain.

  • those are some beautiful horses (and pictures?)

why did you have stallions in adjoining pastures? =o

  • My trainer and his boys made a mistake. So I grabbed my camera and ran out to the fence while waiting for him to come and change them back.

  • I would have tried to get them apart myself, but I'm a cripple and can't move fast enough.

  • 0:20 ahahaha

"whip you in the face wit my tail" lol

  • thoroughbreds dont fatten up like other horses do. they have an extremely fast metabolism, which is why they are such amazing animals. these ones appear to be in very good condition. and very clean, too i will add.

  • Yeah they have a fast metabolism! I have a tbxqh and I have the hardest time keeping good weight on him

  • i had one as well. i also work with a lot of others, and i dont believe i have ever seen a fat thoroughbred.

  • the ar verry skinny dont you think

  • If the horses where not being feed properly (i mean think about this now ) would they be running around and playing if they didn't get there food ( well i think not) There a healthy weight and seem active there not missing to many meals the look like fine healthy horses

  • This horses r well cared for theyre not skinny ull see ribs on horses all the time if they make movements that strecthes the skin, and thoroughbreds rnt suppose to b fat theyre perfect

  • Thanks for defending these beautiful animals!

  • no prob. i own a thoroughbred as well, and she looks just like ur horse on 1:29 the one wit star on the forehead ur horses are gorgeous btw

  • Omg, give them food ... Beautiful horses and nice muscles, but they are too skinny... (excuse my bad english)

  • wow, this horses absolutly look beautiful...awesome body they have! ( excuse my bad english)

  • bit skinny not good for a TB

  • This horse is obviously well cared for.

He/She has very nice muscles on him, nice feet, no other bones are showing. This horse may be young, and in very good shape.

Do not form conclusions on topics you know nothing about.

  • I work at a racing stable and I can tell you this, TBs SHOULD NOT LOOK LIKE THAT. I get that yearlings often look a bit ribby, but even they are never that bad. there should be a slight hint of rib showing when they move, but not like that.

I'm not saying they are being abused on neglected, but that is not a normal weight for a TB.

you need to get to have a look cos a while ago we had a colt who was like that, and it turned out he had a hormone disorder that was keeping his weight off :(

  • I see ribs sorry

    I own a horse I do know

she's had a foal no ribs showing

its either that or the horse needs to be wormed

  • Yes, but seeing ribs means nothing if you don't know the whole story. One should always check the facts before rushing to conclusions.

  • uhh sorry looks like they have NOT been fed properly

  • Sorry, but this is one of the best ranches in Texas, and they HAVE been fed all they will take. Damn it, guys, why do you always comment on something you know nothing about?

  • thats not always the case

  • uhhhh no, why are people coming coming to a quick conclussion on this barn that they most likely never been to before.

Most TBs, especailly younger growning ones, are really hard to keep weight on. These horses look well cared for, manes aren't matted, they looked healthy, shiny coats, and not a bit of mud on them.

If you notice, the other 2 horses look like the proper weight. So they /must/ be getting fed properly.

  • TBs always look skinny because they have an EXTREMELY fast motabalism. It's hard to keep weight on my mare, who is a TB, but she eates more for dinner than my friend's QH eats all day xD

  • looks like there havin fun?

  • Brownie'd ribs showing, lacks muscle mass over his rump, has hollow neck. Whitefoot is aggressive toward Brownie from the first pictures, I bet he drives him away from food whenever outside. Change worming practice, add oil to feed, use pelleted feed so all utilized not pooped out unchewed. TB's are thin becsuse they aren't fed enough. Thin horses don't grow right, don't win without muscle. Hve fewer horses, feed them more. Secretariat was never thin like that.

  • Brownie was a new client horse when these were shot. He looked much better by the time we sent him home. As for feeding them more, they all have as much as they want. Some just don't eat as much by preference.

  • I'm gonna get to Texas one of these days ......

  • You will be welcome!

  • Thank you darlin'. We have cutting horses & there's not enough cattle here in California to even practice on.I haven't shown a horse for 5 years ... we just fart around using the mechanical cow & once in while cut at a friend's place. They feed out roping steers & we cut on them unitl they get used up and/or too big.

California is going to the birds!

  • Cutting horses are usually very intelligent! I used to cover the rodeo and fat stock show in Fort Worth when I was a newspaper person years ago, and I loved watching the cutting horses.

  • Comment removed

  • I have the same with my TB mare - she eats plenty, but still shows ribs.

Actually, the mare in these photos looks strikingly like mine ^^

  • TBs are all beautful, aren't they?

  • of course we didn't OVER feed her

  • most TBs show ribs anyway

    it's the breed

i knew this TB mare who's ribs were showing a bid and we fed her A LOT b/c she would get VERY vocal if she didn't get more food

she was well fed and showed ribs anyway

  • why are the horses ribs showing? do u take good care of them?

  • i live in tx thay do not fight them

  • Of course we don't fight them. Not on purpose. This fight happened because we were careless and put a new stallion where he shouldn't have been.

  • your horses look absolutely gorgeous and healthy.

    :D

  • Thank you!

  • lol i ment my horse :P

  • So what does your hose look like?

  • Cute the bay one kinda looks like my hose :]

  • I train TBs,(prep yearlings for sales at Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton, train two year olds, pre-race training, etc) and it's easy to keep weight on if you manage their feed well. Two flakes of alfalfa and a scoop of grain just don't cut it with these guys. You need to just pay attention to what goes in them... most poeple don't, but whatever.

  • Beautiful pictures!

  • Thank you!

  • I will admit, some of the pics make him look pretty skinny, but Thoroughbreds ARE naturally slim and a little ribby.

  • This is retarded

  • Awesome :)

  • Thank you, Niriton!

  • Its natural for TB's to be thin. Its their breed xP

  • Yes, it is. Thanks for dropping by, OxBreezy

  • que mamadaes

  • yes, the horse is a BIT skinny but thats the thing with TB's. its SO hard to keep weight on them!

  • I had a TB and there just a thin breed of horses

  • Some horses may be thinner than others. Just like humans, horse vary from all different shapes and sizes. It may look underweight but you can tell it's overall happy and healthy. The best thing to do is to take care of your horse correctly and ALWAYS call the vet if you think something doesn't look right.

  • You can see hes got goos muscle mass, noo tailhead visibe, so hes fine. I too ahve had tb's and they DO have high metabolisms. I too am underweight in paper, but I;m fine
