  • what a man!

  • How can anyone with a heart dislike this?

  • @HerrUhyre Probably Sharks fans.

  • @HerrUhyre ...or Colorado fans.

  • the red wings are a class organization, the best in the game! they are loyal to their players till the end. jiri fischer couldnt play hockey anymore but instead of just letting him go the red wings gave him a job! chris chelios now works for the wings, steve yzerman worked in the front office! its just amazing how they treat their players. look at a garbage franchise like dallas and how they show zero loyalty to mike modano! they just let him walk so he signed with us, a real team! go wings!!!!

  • @Gambino199 they also helped constantie a ton after the limo accident.

  • @20003606 yeah constantie that was his name........uhhhh nice try buddy

  • Wings could of have a monster on defense with Jiri Fischer, my favorite D-men.

6'5 225 lb's all muscle and he is the strongest guy on the team...

  • @SupraDomination

Agreed. He was just coming into his own...pure power on the blueline. He had already greatly contributed to the '02 Cup, and he probably could have helped the Wings win in '07 (they were without 4 top D) matching against Pronger, and win in '09...

  • He will never play in the NHL again!!! You cannot put players with weak hearts on the ice. Odds are - he'll have a long and fruitful life - but he does have a weak heart. Rigorous exercise may trigger another heart attack!! So he's done!!

(And NO - he DID NOT DIE! Death is the complete cessation of all bodily functions - and this was just a heart attack - his brain was still functioning. By definition - once death has been achieved - there is no coming back - dead is dead!)

  • @Earthlinked It was a siezure, not a heart attack and he even said in the interview "I did die for 30 seconds, if you count dead as no bodily functions, no heart rate, no breath".

  • @zippolight2002 NOOOO - he did not die at all - he simply lost heart functions. The definition of death is complete and terminal loss of ALL BRAIN function!!! SO he never actually died!!! You can get 2 - 3 minutes with no blood if your heart stops - not so with your brain!!!!!!!!! When your brain shuts down - YOU DIE!!!!!!

  • @Earthlinked Why you such a hater hah? It was heart function up until just a few years ago, before they changed it to brain function. And no, he won't play again, he's retired. He had another seizure just a couple months after this one, he gave up hockey. He is staffed with Det Red Wings. Take it easy man, and to say "simply lost heart functions", don't take that lightly.

  • @dugup46 I was explaining a medical term. Bozo, so it have nothing to do with hating. And it has been BRAIN finction that determines death since Hippocrates (460 BC)!!! Read a book!!! And "Lost Heart function" is a medical term - your heart can stop and you brain does not die. Happens when you sneeze!!!!!!! Read another book!!!!

  • Hero Jiri!! Here's hoping you'll once again guard our blueline :)

  • he almost died like he really almost did he was soooo lucky he was one of the lucky ones seriously

  • he's amazing and i wish he could still play. I loved him when he was playing and i still love him. It was a scaring scene

  • he is truly awesome!
