I have always had the utmost love for schubert, the only composer with enough talent to be Beethoven's only true successor, too bad he died before his time was up
I think that this was an Austrian production. originally there were two movies for cinema; 'Winter journey' and 'love has lied'. the hole thing was called 'notturno'
in Germany it was on Tv in 3 parts, promoted as 'mit meinen heißen Tränen' . You can get the move on amazon but I fear there will be no subtitels.
I don't why I was laughing so hard while watching this, but the part where he getes his wig taken off was funny and when he has that look where he thinks some guy is checking him out... I don't know, I am strange and was laughing. poor schubert.
The original title is "Mit meinen heißen Tränen" by the way. Didn´t find it under Notturno anywhere. The title is a line from the Song "Erstarrung" (Numbness) from the Song cycle "Winterreise" Ich will den Boden küssen, Durchdringen Eis und Schnee Mit meinen heißen Tränen, Bis ich die Erde seh'. I want to kiss the ground, Piercing the ice and snow With my hot tears, Until I see the earth below.
excellent video compilation and music choice..i watched this series on tv a few yrs back and it still haunts me today with its amazing depth of feeling that was given to the great composer Schubert...please pm me with any details you may have of any dvd's etc of this film..thanks..

J'aimerais bien voir ce film sur la vie de ce compositeur tourmenté qu'était Schubert. De quand date ce film ? Merci pour la vidéo.

It's not from "Winterreise" at all. That is piano sonata D 960 and moving Andante Sostenuto- I believe it's played by Richter- not sure though!
