  • wow, i love the tone quality of this. i've been a big joe fan since the 1st time i heard him. thanks :)

  • I just love listening to this kind of music while I'm working on much serious stuff at the 'puter.

Been a fan of Big Joe Turner for a long long time. He was the real thing!!!!

  • A friend of mine gave me a copy in a casette the album "The midnight Special" (L:A 1976) and Joe sing this song and anothers like " I left my hart...", "I´m gonna sit...." etc. It was the first time that I heard Joe (1995), now, I´m fan of him. Greetings from Argentina Sorry for my English

  • What a great record, simply loved listening to that... :-)

  • A record like this is as scarce as hen's teeth (and that's pretty scarce)! Most unusual record big joe ever made, even got it on CD. But have u heard the song joe turner blues?

  • I found this record on the floor of a thrift store years ago. I think I paid a quarter for it. Like finding buried treasure.

  • @manhatin lucky you...

  • Simply incredible! What a great record!

  • doctorwattsUK , Agreed, this is as cool as cool gets.

  • Great to hear this version.

  • This song is too cool not to post.

  • Thank you for this!

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • alicanteespana,

    That's a great story. Bow-Wow-Wow.

  • I actually discovered this song through a video of a man playing guitar while his dog "played" the accordion. They were such a joyous pair I decided to seek out the real thing - and was it ever worth it. This is a gem. Thanks for posting.

  • Old is gold!

    thnx 4 this,its a treasure and a pleasure!!

  • dianasatyr, Big Joe Turner comes from an era where singers literally fought their way to success. Because of this, many of them had a genuine joy in their voices when they were able to perform.

  • What a voice! I know nothing about music and I wish I did, so I could maybe figure out why his voice seems to have a joyous feel to it!

    Thanks for this.

  • boxr4, Thank you for stopping by. While I appreciate keeping rare records in as mint condition as possible, I also believe that records sould be heard as well as seen. I'm glad I can share these gems.

  • Thanx, manhatin. Big Joes music from his years at ATLANTIC is not that rare, but, this is a real gem,and in primo condition!Thank you for sharing!
