  • What'd she watch Jersey Shore to get this accent?? If anyone came to NY trying to talk like that, they'd get punched right in the mouth! I live in NY, and this is sooo exaggerated and stereotypical.

  • why is there so many videos? why not just like 1 long one?

  • And I jet drop my r's and exaggerate my a's but I don't even sound like this

  • I'm from ny

  • if you have an accent you dont recognize what you sound like. ppl say i have a southern drawl and i cant hear it. Kelly pickler cant even hear her own accent--ive heard her say that before. so i think this lady knows what shes talking about. shes not trying to be offensive or anything so i dont know y everyone is getting so offended. this is just how we hear you fellow new yorkers talk. nuthin wrong with that sum of us want ur accent. gee, feel better now :-)

  • Wait a minute, I am from New York and I dont speak like that. Neither does anyone else I know or come across from here.

  • I thought this was New Jersey way of speaking. Meh, I'm norwegian, what do i know.

  • Not even people from New Jersey talk like that.

  • I laughed so hard, this is way off.

  • okay everyone needs to calm down. Most of the people that are looking at this video will be doing it because of drama or they need to do a new york accent for a play or musical. We know you don't all sound like that. She's exaggerating which is kind of helpful.

  • @GUUURLItsAbi Im learning it for a school play

  • ummm, maybe y'all just think you dont talk like that but when you talk, this is what we hear!

  • this sucks

  • does she even know that in NYC there are hundreds of different cultures and people who speak different languages and dialects?

Im from NYC and I dont speak like this, she mostly is using a brooklyn or long island accent.

I think she needs to stop watching Jersey Shore....

  • @mechaart not even..people from long ilsand deffinetly dont speak like this. at all.

shes getting her tips from housewives of new jersey. this video is very rude and piggish

  • @kayleighhxoxo

Livin in New Yawk, and growin up in New Yawk are tow- lee different. Most people who say dair from New Yawk awe probably from somewha else and they moved to New Yawk lata in life. So next time someone tells you dair from New Yawk ask dem if they were bawn and raised dair. Dair are a lot of New Yawk wanna-be's out dair.

  • Wow.. You people are saying she has NY confused with Jersey. She doesn't. Most of the Jersey shore cast that talks like that are from NEW YORK.. the show just takes place in Jersey. Sheesh lay off the poor lady. Anyway this accent IS in fact a new York accent.. Mostly heard in Long Island, Brooklyn && on occasion the Bronx. k? k.

  • @chuchiibabeie hm.. i was born and raised in queens and now live on long island. and ive NEVER IN MY LIFE heard anyone talk like this. maybe my 80 yearold jewish neighbor from brooklyn. but NORMAL new yorkers dont talk like this.

  • This Is So "Koowa" (cool) Haha Naah , Im From New York , And I Havent Met ANYONE that Speaks Like This , But I Like It, Great Vid .

  • this is more new jersey like -_- snooki type :D

  • uhmmm yeaaa you mak NY ppl lyk me sound lyk dey on crack

  • im not even american native and for me this is ridiculous

  • The New York accent sounds like vomit... Yuk

  • COFFEH.

  • WHAT?! SOAR???

  • @maiadiamond Sorry, but that was what kind of the "intenntion" because that woman is being ridiculous. Nobody talks like that. Besides that, did you know that every word said (even ghetto-stylished word and even slang) forms part of the american culture, therefore the english language? Well, that's a fact. :)

  • I wouldn't normally mock someone's attempt at an accent but the fact that she think's her's is to an archetypal standard which people can learn from is laughable.

  • Kay. I live in Connecticut and travel to New York quite often so I know how New Yorkers sound. They don't say OOH-A. Over-exaggeration, much?

  • IT SOUNDS LIKE SNOOKI.

  • @24gymnast4life i know right we dont speack like that

  • people dont talk like that and FYI that sounds like a new JERSEY accent not new YORK !

  • HAHAHA wow this is an awful attempt

  • werido...

  • Im English and even I can tell thats not quite right :L

  • That's a New York jewish accent.

  • She is apparently a renowned speech pathologist.

I'd like to know which university are wasting funds on her (alleged) expertise.

  • I am a new yorker and we do not talk like this .... and how would you know a new york accent when your from the south ... too much exaggeration.

  • i am from california and there's no way this is a New York accent.

  • nononononono, im from new york, no one talks like that. wayy too much exaggeration -______-

  • @WeBeGurl2134 italians talk like that. just a little faster

  • @yaoyaoyao11 i know right we do not sound like that like who dose she thinks she is

  • im from ny and i sound nothing like this... you know NYC is not the only place in NY...

  • screw you accent lady! yur accents are terrible!

  • I have never been to New york let alone america, but i know hardly anyone speeks like this unless they are a really bad actor.

  • way to much exaggeration I'm a new yorker born and raised I dont talk like that.

  • born and raised in new york. proud to say that i nor anyone i know speak that way. try again.

  • she just adding wa at the end of everything

  • All wrong. This is misinformation. Take this off!

  • Forgive me but WHORWA. LOL LOL........NY'er here too, lol.

  • Well i'm not a new yorker but i don't need to be on to know that's just not the way they speak! this is rediculous... there's no way anyone would voluntarily speak like that! seriously, she's humiliating herself...

  • I have a thick North Jersey accent. When I sing the song "Californication" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers I can't pronounce all those r's.

  • This woman is insane.

  • Janice. That is all I have to say.

  • Watch "The Nanny" &'ndd you'll know how New Yorkers talk.

  • LOL if you speak like that in new york you will probebly get a fist in face!

  • No one in New York speaks like this by the way. LOL

  • @ZrobMiLoda32 Actually they do, been there &'ndd i'm from florida &'ndd ive noticed the accent. Ive lived i fl. &'ndd ga my whole life, people say i have a southern accent. I dont think i do, but its weird because when you live in a place for a long time you get used to the accent so you dont really know you have one. Hard to explain.

  • I'm going to go to new York and speak like that, just to see what people say

  • i'm english....but i'm pretty sure this isn't that great.

  • Oh..Kay you fail life.

  • its sooo funny when people try to do ny accents and just end up sounding like they are from jersey

  • I'm English and I'd put a tenner on saying I could do a better New York accent than this.

  • She's trying to exaggerate it. Nobody thinks that New Yorkers speak like that. It's meant to be over the top.

  • Sounds to me like shes tryna do a jersey accent more than anything.....her accents r not good, straight up.

  • okay what is this this sound horrible i from ny and we dont talk like this u do but if u do this u might get puched in the face so yeah shes wrong i havent heard a accent like that since the 90s and i was in jersey

  • Have you ever been anywhere? Your accents suck.

  • @24gymnast4life This is what you sound like.

  • i dont speak like that im a new yorker

  • I have never heard a New Yorker to speak like this. It's rediculous!

  • Is it just me or does she sound a bit Australian?

  • she is over pronouncing her droped R's

theres no "wa" sound when we talk

  • She's only exaggerating the sounds that non natives of New York hear. Of course yous guys in New York don't talk like that because it's much quicker and clipped. New Yorkers do not sound that crazy. So chill out already.

  • That's not a new york accent is it!?

  • Doesn't sond like the way I talk at all and ive lived in ny my entire life....sounds more new jersey than new York so its an insult to say this is a ny accent

  • JERSEY SHOREE!!!!! SNOOKIE PARTY!!!!!!!!

  • where's the british accent?

Do you mean queen's accent? London accent? or both? lol

  • LOLOLOLOL.

  • LOL wait. is she serious?! haha

  • she needs to talk fasta than that

  • i started laughing....i love how this is not a joke!!!

  • This is so stereotypical of us New Yorkers hahah if she talked like this in New York, I would laugh right in her face. I hate people that move here from out of state and want to pick up on the accent to sound like their originally from NY. Just talk with you native accent, you don't have to change it!

  • ice ice baby

  • well nice try. but your regular way of speaking was much better than the newyork dialect

  • this woman makes no sense...

  • @Kthip1 yea they do, depending in what neigbor hood but every one i know does but not OD like that

  • She's giving a standard. I was born and raised in NY, but I've been around Caribbean people all my life... so I don't speak the way she is. But sometimes my words do... depending on who I am talking to. But, I don't know... she can't expect every NY character to speak like that. Most Only Caucasian New Yorkers are stereotyped in this technique. What about the other million NON-caucasians?

  • I can't stop thinking of Janice: "Oh. My. Gahd!" XD

  • @CentralPerkHangout Haha OMG me too!!

  • she over-doing it cuz yea alot of ppl in ny say doa etc. but it doesnt like that

  • hahaha fail. ny accent is not like that.

  • this sounds a lot like how my aunts talk, but they're from providence, rhode island. i dont know anyone from new york who sounds like this

  • Haha she sounds like a little babe!

  • hehe reminds me of the women who dated chandler in friends

  • Sounds more like us Australians.

  • The accent is right, but she's pushing it WAY TOO MUCH. It sounds like way over the top Queens/ Long Island/ Jersey Shore. Funny though!

  • @flyingtoaster13 I'm from Long Island and sound nothing like that! She sounds ridiculous and if I sounded like that I'd never speak.

  • @XceptingDeniall Well, like I said--WAY over the top.

  • brooklyn RRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Nobody talks like this in NY anymore . . . If she were to use this in NY, or anywhere else, she would get funny looks.

  • rofl this is a joke... im from staten island and we dont say doa more like doora rofl xD

  • thats not an l.i acent u sound like a weirdo dont make fun of the new yorkers we will kick ur butt

  • I've lived in New York my whole life.

You seriously have no idea what the hell a New York accent sounds like.

If you tried to speak like that, you'd probably get smacked.

  • Wow.... this is terrible.... Really really terrible.

  • LOL. Most people don't realize there are like 8 different accents in the NY area... We can tell if someone is from queens, brooklyn, long island, nj, staten island...They are all similar to "an NY accent".

I think it's funny to hear people over-exaggerate all of them into a mix of one accent...

  • thats a long island accent. not to many people talk like that anymore

  • Maybe she is exaggerating so we can hear it. I dunno.

  • @strauss12345 I think so yeah

  • although this is disgustingly ridiculous.. and although I'd never met any New Yorker (or should I say New Yawka ..jk) I think that she's trying to portray the stereotype... or maybe not.. trying to portray the bright side of this situation.. but maybe there isn't one.

  • 0:20 look at her face.

  • I'm from staten island (: you actually kinda sound like yer from new York except the fact that you have to let the words just come out yer tryin to hard to get the sound

  • umm/...Hey lady are you single? Because there alot of videos done and that involves alot of time so...yeah not to be mean or anything

  • As a New Yorker, I'm insulted. And as someone who was born in the UK, I am even more insulted by her British accent. (And by insulted, I mean I am laughing hysterically at her, and I hope she tries it here.)

  • she's not bad, she's just putting too much emphasis on the end, making it sound like a W, when it's not supposed to be that strong.

  • 0:21 ''Senentces?''

  • I dont know, I think your over-reacting a little bit.

  • Marisa Tomei got an oscar for speaking this nonsense.

  • Well i don't know about you people, but im doing a play and i have to have a accent like this and i found it pretty helpful.. So thanks ^^

  • I have no clue why anyone would want to talk like that. That is definately not how we sound.

  • @NEG2009 i think that she is trying to make it over the top so that we could be like that but eventually we'll drop it down to a normal accent cause i find it hard to do even that!

  • LOLLLLLLLLL OMG She is completely insane!

  • she sounds like a random hillbilly trying to rap. i hope she doesnt like to travel, shell get beat up alot for using her accednts.

  • idiot we dont talk like that at all

  • The boy darrious he's from new york bronx and my name is robert he says Roobert

  • This is a bit too generalized. She seems to be doing a female, Jewish, Long Island accent, not a NYC or Brooklyn New Yorker accent. An example of a Long Island accent would be to say "Long-guy-lun" for Long Island.

  • I honestly think most of us new yorkers speak like this. But the thing is she is tretvhing the "W" way yo hard. she said the word "four" like " FOWAA instead of "FOAA"

  • Yes, I notice this exaggeration/extreme in theater plays and on TV shows and in movies. Since NYC/Brooklyn is such a melting pot I think that having an accent of any kind ends up sounding local. They used to say that about SF too. I think local accent is more consistent in Boston than in NY.

  • Correct, as for us people from NYC/Brooklyn, it would be "Long-Eye-Lin"

  • Thank you for the example.

  • @TheBJKiD jewish new york talk like that

  • Nobody I know in Brooklyn talks like this.

This sounds more New Jersey, not New York.

  • GUIDO GUIDO GUIDO

  • She sounds like an idiot. Its like every other word has a 'ooowerr' at the end LOL

  • this is a joke right

  • aye, she got the skills for real. cracks me up

  • senences she doesnt say the t in sentence

  • That was a pretty bad imitation of the New York accent. I notice this, and English isn't even my mother tongue.

  • I'm from ny and I dont talk like that.... usually only italians from bensonhurst, brooklyn talk like that and especially STATEN ISland...not all nyers

  • I haven't been to new york or anything.

But I'm pretty sure they don't speak like that there ..

  • haha what a sped. no one talks like that you should be shot, thats a disgrace to live in america. if u talk likethat you will get laughed at then jumped in newyork. goodaa byeeaaa

  • But what if someone wants to learn this acfent for acting reasons? Acting is all about over the top. I am pretrty sure that's is the kind of thing shes teaching this for

  • it woul sound like it if she didnt push it too hard out.

  • there is to much "UWA" in those words. she needs tone it down a bit

  • Obviously you guys haven't been to Suffolk County lately. of course they still talk like that.

She's not perfect, but she's quite good.

  • no, she's terrible.

  • This is an accent out of the 50s. Nobody's talking that way anymore. But at least it was New Yorkese.

  • I am not from New York, and we do not sound like that.

  • Maybe because you're NOT from New York?

  • hhaa

  • nobody talk like that in new york.

  • yeah.. i am from brooklyn, and she talked like that anywhere in NY she would definately get laughed as. she is way over the top.

  • yeah shes wackk.

  • @NEG2009 Well I'm doing a play and we have to do a new york accent. This sorta helped, anyway it has to be over the top.

  • @NEG2009 yea thats more of a long island accent my aunt talks like that, but im from queens so our accent probly the same

  • im from ny and we new yorkers dont sound like that

  • i dunno, seems a tad exaggerated there. even my uncle that has lived in long island all his life doesnt talk like that.

  • peopl u guys are stupid fuurreelz man. i actually learnin frum this lady.

  • That's accent, not dialect...

  • wow this definetly fails
