i love this movie! its like ultraviolet with milla jovovich which by the way is my fav actress because she is the best. loved her in resident evil, my fav scifi action movie. i think equilibrium is alot better than the matrix. the matrix is kinda dumb anyway, so overrated.

the gun choreography in this movie is really extremely very fucking stupid. he slap a gun barrel and it spins, pivoted perfectly in the individuals hand, and stops at exactly 180 degrees and blows the guys mouth off. Clive Owen couldnt get away with this stupid shit in 'Shoot em up' and neither does Christ Bale.

I've just recently seen this movie and one of the main reasons that I decided to do so was because of the many online movie blogs claiming this to be a very underrated movie. I just didn't see it being all that underrated. The movie was a mediocre action movie at best. The biggest flaw that I found with the movie was that it had too many elements in it that reminded me of movies like The Matrix and 1984. Underrated yes. Most underrated movie of all time? Hell no!!

The best action scene in this movie was almost identical to a scene in The Matrix (and yes, the Matrix was made first). @waider Equilibrium was a sci fi action film, action being the sub genre. I find the movie mediocre because of the flow of the movie is imbalanced. The movie came out about 3 years after the Matrix so almost everyone who saw the Matrix (thats a lot of people) and then watched this thought the same as I did and that's why this movie was almost forgotten about. This movie is in no way underrated. I'm not saying it sucks. The Matrix was not overrated. The Matrix trilogy was overrated.

For some reason I have seen so many more movies with him after Equilibrium and he never got up to the level... for example in public enemy when he does the range shots - that would have been a *great* opportunity to show some real character acting. he missed the chance, and every movie with him i watched it seemed to get worse. I'd love to see him get back to the level he set in eq. (i.e. the moment in the lie det. scene...)
