It's the 'Temple of Cant' because they Can't resurrect your characters half the time, they end up as ashes, and at the prices they charge, it's a major pain.
From what I've played on Wizardry 1 for the NES, Chaz, the "Restart an Out Party" option is there if you somehow turned off the SNES while the current active party is in the dungeon. This is especially useful if the electricity goes out throughout town or your SNES emulator crashes.
My personal fave thing to do was grind off the Laughing Kettle with Socordi and luck manipulation. Then jump to the Phoenix and grind it. Pimp slapped that game good, lol.
I actually love Wizardry, it's just that they're hard as fuuuuuuck and annoying to control.
Also, I used to have the English Wizardry I-II-III ROM laying somewhere around...but that was about six incidents of deleting my entire emulation folder for hard drive space back, so I have no idea where that shit is.
Just as an aside, you can find a translated ROM of an SNES compliation of Wizardry 1-3.
Wizardry 4, which I would love to play, does not seem to have an English version aside from PC, but it's much different than 1-3. You play as Werdna (final boss of Wizardry 1) trying to escape the Labyrinth you're trapped in with the help of monsters you summon from pentagrams, and fighting against various parties of good guys. From what I've read, it's hard as hell. But it sounds fun.
Go Chaz! Destroy that fucking kettle for all of us! This is one of my favorite dungeon crawls, though I've never beaten the final boss. That guy sucks.
Also, DOSBox and a copy of the Wizardry Archives for PC will get you all eight games. It's rockin.

Wizards can't be neutral? I thought it was Clerics that couldn't be neutral, that whole.. good god/evil god thing.

@Maverynthia Wizards get the ability to dispel undead at later levels so they can't be neutral like clerics for that reason.
