everythng but the final triple loop... she fought for everything! I saw her at nationals and then later at skate detroit and she improved her consistancy by alot!!!
it is great she won. I know it is still early, but we all know she needs to do better..Akiko Suzuki, got a score of 183 in her first event and she is Japan's 4th or 5th ranked skater...
Why not do a salchow? I have never seen her do one... hmm. I do think she looks MUCH stronger and more confident here. A good omen for an olympic year! =)
I am so hapy for her, she fought for the jumps and I am sure she will fight harder in the upcoming competitions. I really hope she makes it to the Olympics and wins nationals again. Her edges are very clean and deep, that charlotte spiral is so nice, I see other skaters are copying her now but her spirals are clearly the best. Go Alissa!
The downgrade on the jumps were a shame, they looked pretty good out there. She looks stronger than before.I'm sure she will compete better this season. She did clean Sp&LP at Skate Detroit and at the Onyx Challenge in Michigan. Its one thing to compete locally but international competitions add more pressure for her as champion. The music is wonderfull as is the new dress. The spins are unbelieveable and spirals are awesome.I hope to see her do well so she can go to the Olympics with Sasha I hope :)
its a shame about the underrotations because she skated awesome!! Some of the underrotations aren't normally an issue so I'm not worried. She definitely looks more confident though!! I can't wait to see her results later.
Alissa was SLAMMED by the technical specialist at this competition. In the short she had a wrong edge deduction for her flip and only received a level TWO for her layback, cause she was short a rotation....really. That brought her score down significantly. In the long she had three underrotations, which aren't as obvious looking to me. This is exactly what happened to Ando at the Grand Prix Final last season, she made the adjustments and won the bronze at Worlds.
As for her intended axel sequence here, it appeared to be a timing issue. Performing both of those jumps in sequence is a little difficult, just ask Joannie Rochette. Alissa looks good this season, just needs a few adjustments, but she's attacking more, more speed and coverage.
I agree after seeing her previous performances it did seem like a time issue, but at least she pulled the next one together. The jumps look strong if anyhting she can improve more since she can focus on skating now that she graduated from BGSU. The program looks very good and better than the other girls in the field this year. go czisny good luck this year :D
Alissa is such a fighter! She has all the moves of the most desirable figure skater!

She's using the boots she used during the 2005/2006 season.
Too bad for all the downgrades.
:(
Go Alissa!

She stopped using the jackson hinge boots last season :)

I know, but I saw some photos of Alissa at Nebelhorn and she was using the jackson hinge boots. Maybe it was just for this competition?

way to go alissa!!!! she's such an awesome skater, and when she does her jumps, she's just so complete as a skater!!! everything is there!
i just wonder what she got for her spiral cuz the positions are awesome but i think she was short on the allusion and biellman...

She highered up the techincal merit in this program. It appears as if she is adding another loop at the end. Good for her. That would be...
Triple Lutz-Double Toe
Triple Flip
Triple Loop-Double Toe
Double Axel
Triple Lutz
Triple Toe
Triple Loop
^--I think she should make that her three jump combination. It would garn her alot of points!
That would be 6 triples! :)
