World War Hulk would (not COULD, WOULD) beat Superman. It would probably not go easily, but he did beat the million exploding suns freak Sentry. Moving a planet is a ridiculous feat, not because of the strength it takes to do it, but because something as small as Superman can't possibly budge something as large as a planet, he'd just dig himself into it. He'd have to strike the planet at full force to move it, but then he'd risk shattering it. Anyway, the Hulk held together the planet Sakaar, that's physically equal to moving it. @Jashro4 The Hulk that hold Sakaar together wasn't the Worldbreaker =) Although it's hard to define which Hulk is which, his strength adjusts to what he has to do, just like Superman's. The only thing that somewhat justifies it is that the Hulk's strength fluctuates, while Superman's is supposed to be capped, and still he moves planets when he has to. I would rather see that writers don't put their characters in such situations than letting them do things they're not supposed to be able to do.

Hulk just isn't in Supes league. Frankly, neither is Doomsday (I don't care what some comic or overpriced movie says).
Captain Marvel would beat Supes more often than not. Same for Gladiator (if he's confident). Silver Surfer could take Superman fairly easily.
And before someone say "what if Hulk has Kryptonite!?", I'll retort "what if there's a woman around?" Hulk becomes Banner around women...Thus, Harley could 'beat' Hulk.
Hulk STARTS with about 1/6th Supes max strength, 1/6th the endurance, less body armor value, less regen ability, and less than half the hit points. So if Supes' just traded punches, he'd reduce the Hulk's hit points below zero (knock out) before Hulk has chance to level up via rage.
Hulk's rage only increases stats one level per round AND require a successful Psyche FEAT AND requires he was hurt that round. So it isn't a given that his stats would rise every round (except his regen stat).
But Supes wouldn't just trade blows (as he does in the comics), he'd use his superspeed (three hits per round vs Hulk's one hit per round) to pummel the Hulk's hit points below zero (knock out) in just a few rounds.
Further, Supes could fly above him zapping him with heat vision everytime Hulk jumped at him. Easy pickings. Sure Hulk would get to him, but only after losing precious hit points.
Finally, if hurt, Supes could throw him into outer space, where Hulk would eventually pass out.

Hulk was much weaker in the old comics anyway. Superman was supreme simply because he was the first comic book character ever made. Hulk has grown into a much larger symbol and entity, while Superman is like the Super Mario of Nintendo.

People keep talking about how Hulk gets stronger the madder he gets, but Superman's strength is also based on how much solar energy he absorbs. All Supes has to do it fly into the sun which he's done in the past. Superman's strength is at planet mover/destroyer level, he just holds back most of the time. Also the fact remains that both their power levels are determined by who is writing them at the time.

Here's how I look at it. Superman is king of DC, Hulk is king of marvel, however, Hulk is stronger than superman so Hulk would win in a fight, however, Superman is the better hero because he has more utility that helps him save lives whereas the Hulk is made for smashing things and wouldn't be very good at saving cats from trees, or defeating bad guys without demolishing the entire property.

And the reason the silver age was so strong in earth was because Kryptons gravity was more greather than earths gravity. But the original Superman (golden age superman 1938-1956) was so powerfull because his krypton race had superpowers no yellow earth and sun.

World War Hulk would (not COULD, WOULD) beat Superman. It would probably not go easily, but he did beat the million exploding suns freak Sentry. The Sentry said he was cutting loose in that fight, but even if it was just a fraction he certainly put out the power of at least a hundred exploding suns and that is leagues above Superman's power level. Moving a planet is a ridiculous feat, not because of the strength it takes to do it, but because something as small as Superman can't possibly budge something as large as a planet, he'd just dig himself into it. He'd have to strike the planet at full force to move it, but then he'd risk shattering it. Anyway, the Hulk held together the planet Sakaar, that's physically equal to moving it. Don't underestimate ol' Greenie.

@Jashro4 The Hulk that hold Sakaar together wasn't the Worldbreaker =) Although it's hard to define which Hulk is which, his strength adjusts to what he has to do, just like Superman's. The only thing that somewhat justifies it is that the Hulk's strength fluctuates, while Superman's is supposed to be capped, and still he moves planets when he has to. I would rather see that writers don't put their characters in such situations than letting them do things they're not supposed to be able to do.

Hulk just isn't in Supes league. Frankly, neither is Doomsday (I don't care what some comic or overpriced movie says).
Captain Marvel would beat Supes more often than not. Same for Gladiator (if he's confident). Silver Surfer could take Superman fairly easily.

Hulk STARTS with about 1/6th Supes max strength, 1/6th the endurance, less body armor value, less regen ability, and less than half the hit points. So if Supes' just traded punches, he'd reduce the Hulk's hit points below zero (knock out) before Hulk has chance to level up via rage.
Hulk's rage only increases stats one level per round AND require a successful Psyche FEAT AND requires he was hurt that round. So it isn't a given that his stats would rise every round (except his regen stat).

But Supes wouldn't just trade blows (as he does in the comics), he'd use his superspeed (three hits per round vs Hulk's one hit per round) to pummel the Hulk's hit points below zero (knock out) in just a few rounds.
Further, Supes could fly above him zapping him with heat vision everytime Hulk jumped at him. Easy pickings. Sure Hulk would get to him, but only after losing precious hit points.
Finally, if hurt, Supes could throw him into outer space, where Hulk would eventually pass out.

People keep talking about how Hulk gets stronger the madder he gets, but Superman's strength is also based on how much solar energy he absorbs. All Supes has to do it fly into the sun which he's done in the past. Superman's strength is at planet mover/destroyer level, he just holds back most of the time. Also the fact remains that both their power levels are determined by who is writing them at the time.

DC got over that unlimited crap with crisis, they realise it was lame when pre-crisis supes kinda had unlimited power. Seems like marvel hasn't realise it yet.

Here's how I look at it. Superman is king of DC, Hulk is king of marvel, however, Hulk is stronger than superman so Hulk would win in a fight, however, Superman is the better hero because he has more utility that helps him save lives whereas the Hulk is made for smashing things and wouldn't be very good at saving cats from trees, or defeating bad guys without demolishing the entire property.

@SpaceAceTXThe match was pre-determined by the fans, the fans chose who won and so the writers gave them superman winning, so I don't consider it to be a realistic fight. In reality when you compare supermans weakness to kryptonite with hulk unlimited rage, strength, and power and his healing regeneration, Hulk wins hands down.

@SpartanOmegaDude Yeah I see your point, but in the later comics Superman gains immunity to Kryptonite, he also gets more powerful instead of weaker with age with the yellow sun continually powering. It almost seems like eventually he will become so powerful he will cease to have human form and become pure energy, or it seems like they are going in that direction

::blink:: you really think Superman would win. The hulk GETS STRONGER the angrier he gets, This progression has NO UPPER LIMIT. Hulk Superman has been overpowered before, to his death if you remember, in 1999 against Doomsday, The Hulk has never been directly overpowered except by Sentry who is specifically designed to counter him by putting off some radiation that "calms" the Hulk. Now, with that in mind, Hulk is the winner, hands down.

resons. normal hulk and normal sueprman are of a very VERYclose strength level BUT hulk gets stronger as he gets madder and superman would be making him very mad leading to getting his ass kicked by the not so jolly green giant
and hulks durribilty also gets better as he gets madder and has regernetated from dust in the mestro timeline

normal hulk is not close to superman.normal hulk is up there wailing on superman's chest and not doing a thing,he can also be knocked out even with a fuck load of trank so superman beats him with some well placed full strength super fast punches he would never do it though because he won't kill.and that regenerating from dust is just not realistic if your dust you can't regen, I know I've takin medical class.

In world war hulk he fought and deafeated hulk buster Iron man, Avengers, Fantastic 4 without even taking a break and after that almost without resting at all he crushed the military, Hercules and an enpowered Dr. Strange who actually makes a hole through his body twice and after that he also defeates the Sentry..... As stated by Amadaeus Cho Hulk as well subconciously holds back and subconciously calculates the destruction being made which why like in fights with Thor it was Thor that nearly killed all the surrounding people not the HULK.

@earnestbanks actually, hulk can survive in space without oxygen, in the latest research from the S.H.I.E.L.D agents. he clearly said hulk can survive in zero gravity area with no oxygen. throughout the planet hulk and worl war hulk issues, he fights outer space without even needing to breathe.

DC was the ones that made the fight.2. DC cries, Marvel was going bankrupt and needed the sales. learn the history. the fight: Hulk has super speed too. plus he heals and adapts to anything.Superman cant fly around.he has to face him like he faced doomsday. He will not let this brute kill or destroy the planet.and when he does face him.Superman will die. Please all these novice comic book readers that say superman! Hulk has UNLIMITED STRENGTH, fight anywhere, dont rely on anything to power him such as Superman. Superman's power would have no affect on Hulk. Hulk took down Sentry who is almost his match. You would have to get to Banner to get to the Hulk, thats it end of story. Sentry was always able to calm Hulk, but not in World War Hulk. Sentry would kick Supermans a!@#$. Hulk survived a nuclear blast. You cannot kill him, only slow him down.

@27bigez Hulk has never showed proof that he had unlimited strenght kid. Superman moved Mageddon, a being as big as Jupiter (40 times the Earth). I've never seen a scan showing Hulk moving something as big as a planet.

@Ultraleftist actually, hulk's regeneration is better than wolverine's and deadpool's. and to say hulk is more resistant than them, this adds onto hulk's durability, hulk gets angry and his durability and strength gets better. hulk doesnt need to hold his breath, hulk can survive in space just fine, like in the planet hulk and world war hulk series.
