I converted a BMW 318i to an EV (on You Tube: "BMW EV conversion burns rubber!")... within minutes of powering it up for the first time, it was burning rubber in the parking lot of the shop where we did the work-- conversions like mine will be quite common soon, I'm sure, when everyone starts seeing what a quiet, hyper-efficient EV can do on a drag strip.
Batteries, motors, controllers, chargers etc., will continue to drop in price... soon, ICE cars will no longer be the STATUS QUO-- EVs rule!
That video is just a classic. That Honda is so loud and obnoxious sounding. The contrast with the silence of the Tesla Roadster is just perfect. That was the past vs the future captured in this video.
@PeakOilGarage As an owner of a louder Subaru STi, even I have to admit ... Tesla is just sexy! Not quite as fast as my Subi, but I'm sure if enough or sold, American firms will innovate and come out with mods for that bad boy ;-) Good job Tesla, keep it coming! Get a 11sec daily driver out, and you're as good as gold.
That Honda is like a little Chihuahua- lots of noise, little bite, lol ;) Tesla is more like a Cheetah- sneaks up on poor little Chihuahua- one bite and its dead!
