sffd is not the only california fire dept that wears leather helmets, sacramento, menlo park, hayward, livermore, alameda, alameda county, tracy, stockton etc....all have leather helmets, who knows how many more do but off the top of my head in my area those are the ones i know of..a lot of so cal fire depts dont wear leather or even the same style helmets, they wear the ugly salad bowls
