  • That's about it, actually. It's a pretty simple blues in E.

Van Ronk has a GREAT version on his "No Dirty Names" LP. He changes it somewhat, and comes up with a wonderful and interesting guitar part. Check it out if you can.

  • so what if its simple?

  • I love this song!

  • "Your sister was a teddy your daddy was a bear

Put the muzzle on your mama 'cause she had bad hair"

  • thanks tweeter i'll check it out

  • hi nice job on a great song. do you have the tab for this tune, or any idea of the lyrics for that matter.

  • stephan grossman has a book with instruction and transcription of this song. He transcripes it in E like this clip but CJ plays in another key (i think A capo 5th fret but i don't remember exactly)

  • I went to the river, I couldn't get across I jumped on your papa 'cause I thought he was a horse, an' I Rode him over, give him a Coca-Cola Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream Take soap and water for to keep it clean. Up she jumped, down she fell Her mouth flew open like a mussel shell, now Your sister was a teddy, your daddy was a bear Put the muzzle on your mama 'cause she had bad hair, now If you want to hear that elephant laugh Take him down to the river and wash his yas-yas-yas, now
