  • Now lets see this for 3DS.

  • How come I haven't seen many games using this engine on the AppStore?

  • @StrayX09 This is just a guess, but I believe it's because most AppStore games are simplistic and don't require heavy software such as UDK. SOME games use Unreal, however (such as Epic's own Infinity Blade), but like you said not many make use of it. Shame, really.

  • Is UDK for iOS licensed or freeware?

  • @RememberTrueStyle It is free. Unless you plan to make games you sell, you need a 99$ license, and if you earn more than 50.000$ from your game, you need to pay a 25% royalty.

  • @MouthofSaurons You have to earn $500,000 now before royalty kicks in. :D

  • @megazero713 it checked and it still seems to be 50,000 $

  • @RememberTrueStyle UDK is UDK, therefore it's free. If you want it on the app store, it requires a liscence (unless you go free I suppose).

  • @hydzior Jazz' :]

  • You guys are talking about new Jazz Jackrabbit, but nobody wants to play back Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Guys, This Game is Alive!

  • Now its supports tegra 2 android devices.

  • can you please make a horror game that will use the unreal engine? thanks!

  • @LukaKotar Stop asking and make one yourself, the UDK is free for crying out loud. EXPERIMENT!!!

  • If only people actually still bought apps, maybe a year or two late EPIC. Thanks though, but making six figures off itunes games is history

    :......(

  • Interesting. I've only been able to create and test iPhone apps using Xcode which is Mac OS exclusive- and is a pain for me being a Windows user and keeping two machines. Got to check this out.

  • why not on android?

  • HOLY SHIT! The 3DS is fucked

  • @MrFlac00 No it isn't.

  • @MrFlac00 the 3ds has buttons...

something a lot of people will keep in mind when choosing what they want to buy

  • Holy shit it is jazz jackrabbit

  • Sweet

  • EpicGames - You are the Gods of the game engines!

  • Something I noticed... When the app was being uploaded to the iDevice, there was no option for earlier versions of iPod Touch other than the iPod Touch 4th gen... Does this mean that I couldn't launch it to my iPod Touch 3rd gen?

  • @cruzer323 nope. 4th generation ipods only for ipods sake

  • Comment removed

  • What? No Mac support? You've got to be kidding me. How can Apple allow this?

  • @bluerhayes The UDK is Windows only.

  • 620 tri barrels for an iphone game :O

  • @epicgamesinc Is Jazz Jackrabbit a project that will be released in the future or is it just a demo???

  • yo ya lo tengo y ya lo gane I have it

  • I cant see any logic. It supports iOS, but not Mac.

It support Windows, but not windows mobile or android.

    WATTA?!!

P.S.I`m stil hope to see unreal on android

  • @MegaDuzzle As far as I know the Unreal Engine 3 does support MacOSX

  • Does this mean PC iPhone development?...

  • @calculatorboyqwe It means PC iPhone Game Development.

  • @xXSythenXx Haha, that's what I meant.

  • @calculatorboyqwe yes xD

  • The icing on the cake is that this is a remix from my favorite song from the old-school Unreal Tournament.

  • I want that Mechanism Eight remix.

  • What about a Mac version of the UDK? we're all waiting for this ...

  • I love Epic; we use UDK and all versions of the Unreal engine in uni for the last 5 years and Unreal ED is always the first choice. x One love Epic x

  • any news for android? so i dont buy apple rubbish

  • @spearedd its not going to come to android

and why buying android its really bad , and if u want a phone for games buy an iphone (because its support all the itouch games which is apple's handheld ) or buy the upcoming psp phone whicch is an android device

  • @zawette It depends were Epic thinks is a good move... maybe why they havent moved to Mac (PC's are better for many gaming features.. not to say that the mac sucks... but PCs are better Price:Performance ratio)

Android might be next.. with the Galaxy Tab out now (with great graphics and lower price) and other things to come

it's basically a choice for epic to make really if they want to support it... im sure its going to be more work porting it to the Android System

  • @zawette You've just said that it won't come to android, and that android is really bad.

Yet you suggested to buy the PSP phone which is apparently on Android. Hypocritical much?

  • @xXSythenXx its not going to have unreal engine But its going to playstation games

  • @zawette Actually the Unreal Engine 3 was always on Playstation, ever since games like Unreal Tournament 3 came to the Playstation.

  • @xXSythenXx UNREAL ENGINE 3 on the ps3 and unreal engine 2 on the ps2 and psp i think

  • @zawette Yes Unreal Engine 3 was on the PS3, and Modified Versions of Unreal Engine 2 were on the PS2. But that does not mean that UDK will be released on this 'PSP Phone'. Besides it's already been confirmed that this PSP Phone is really a Sony Ericsson's.

The point of all of this is that you said it would never come to Android, yet you also said it will be coming to an Android Phone.

  • This is actually a really kickin' song when you have nice bass.

  • @ Quetzaltenango we'd been waiting for iOS support. Great job ppl!!!

  • :D yayz

  • Well it's time to buy an iPhone ;) When do You want to stop shoking us? Huh? I hope never :D Cheers and Marry Christmas guys ;D

...maybe Santa bring me new iPhone? ;)

  • Nicee! iOS again owns every other OS in history.

  • Any word on Android support?

  • I see a Jezz Jackrabbit ;] .

  • @hydzior

    it's JAZZ, not Jezz :-P

    BTW.: UDK owns!

  • oooooh, so sweet.

  • epic? epic.
