No you don't need Nexus in fact you should only use it for inspiration but in terms of ever getting good your biggest mistake would be to keep using Nexus. The most talented artists always make their own sounds as thats the only way to achieve a unique "in demand" sound. Then it gets released, all rookies copy it, fail terribly to achieve anything with it... and once again a new sound is born.

It's out of key and you're just copying their melodies(not even right) with some nexus presets.. try putting some effort into it. jeez...

@Benzel115 Why don't people think before they say anything? First of all, the key is definitely not off and i had to use presets cuz youtube doesen't let me upload more than 15 min. (3xOSC is not a preset). Second, the point is to copy their malodies, cuz this is a tutorial, its about showing how to make this song, im not making a remix. And third, if u can make it from scratch in 13 mins better than me, i would love to see that. :)

@Kuksi7 If you can't hear this is out of key then you need to listen to the and to your own creation some more.. You have to use presets because of the time limit? explain to me why you can use ur own sound from 3xOSC and not for the others? And I can do this better than you, but I won't waste my time making a video on that.. might send you a little mp3 tho if I have the time for it. Listen a bit more from 12:30 and maybe you'll hear it's not in key.
