The re-edited one was made in 2005. Same exact film was used, they just added a few of the deleted scenes and changed the music. This trailer is from the original becuz i can tell they have the same music used in the movie as the trailer.

the thing here is that both the book and the actors playing in the movie were so madly popular at the time no other expanation was needed. matt dillion? rob lowe? tom cruise? patrick? ralph? emilio? every girl was rushing to see this film whether it had a plot or not. thankfully, it did. one of my favs of all time.
