  • Loved Simon dancing, and John hot as ever!

  • Blaze has said the truth

  • 80ies hairstyles, especially some of the ones for males- one of the few things I want to forget about this era...

  • I love Duran,Nick wouldhave to be the worst "lip/syncher onhis keyboard. if his keyboard was plugged in 4 real, it would sound a mess, especially in the instrumental in the middle . Anyone seen this song live would see most of it is sequenced and programmed onhis synth and all he does it press buttons. Also, he needs sheet music and chords progressions on paper for every song he plays live, just watch the Live in London or RIO greatest albums dvd's. He has no talent live, only in the studio

  • the dd boys loks like the three stooges with this gowns....hahahahahahhahaha

    kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk ...shshshshshshshhshshshshshshshshshsh kkkkkkkkkkkkkk..lol

  • why is this indexed as Arcadia El Diablo?

  • SLB has never sung this live in the original key. The top notes, repeated, in full voice, are high B-flats. This is not to say that he couldn't sing this live, in the original key - just just couldn't in 1985. He made one game attempt with View to a Kill at Live Aid, and he never heard the end of blowing one of his B-flats in that live performance. After DD transposed the songs, he started singing them live. And the guys play it just fine.

  • Love U 4ever!!

  • 1:50 John Taylor grabs the mic, bass note sounds, but his left hand isn't on the bass.

    lol.

    boo boo.

  • I know for a fact that Duran Duran can play live. I've seen them with my own eyes, not to mention all of the videos right here on YouTube where they're playing live, warts and all, especially with many unique live arrangements not found on record. HOWEVER, this performance is CLEARLY a lipsynch. I'm guessing Simon just couldn't handle the high vocals on 'Wild Boys'. He never really had a very high voice. Witness his voice cracking at Live Aid when he attempted to sing 'A View To A Kill'.

  • @reverendflash Simon le bon has a higher voice then many tenors bro...but many people just can't sing some super high ' songs...Usher "DJ got us falling love is an example' he Can't do the chorus live....i can give you many examples...but they have since taken Wild boys -2 and it's still high but doable live...

  • that's because it's a playback performance. it's not live. it's not a boo boo

  • (roll eyes) When does "too pretty to actually play" go away? It's been 20some years!

  • wow, they all looked great. i love nick's rhinestone shoulders.

  • woouu man the DD boys with this clothes....hahaha makes me remember the three stooges hahahahhahahaha

  • Yes this is one of the best lip-synched DD apearence IMO. Man wish I could watch this in DVD Quality. Does anybody exchange DVD rarities here?

  • The videos from Duran Duran's OWN live concerts are not lip-synched, and everything sounds fine (Simon's voice holds up much better than most!!).

But on all their TV appearances etc, it is completely obvious that they're lip-synching - they make absolutely no effort to hide it!!

I'm not just trying to stand up for DD because I'm some little fan-girl, there genuinely is no reason to think that they can't play live!

  • Another one of my favourite songs that I grew up listening to, and played over and over again.

  • Great lip synching.

  • WOW those boys could Play, one of the best 80s bands & still goin strong.

  • awesome loved it then love it now grantie

  • I AGREE

  • Thanks for this. Great stuff! :D

  • They've never played live at Montreaux to my knowledge. All of their appearances are lip-synched. In fact, back in the 80s MANY artists, unfortunately, did not play live.

  • Well, they have a functioning PA (speakers, monitors, microphones, etc.) I think DD had never actually played this song live perhaps not even between themselves considering the sort of studio.....Hold on they do it on View to a kill, too?!?! Should have practiced for Live Aid!

  • yeah, what's with the lip synching...

  • TV in Switzerland during 1985...I'm pretty sure they were not equipped to handle live music.

  • Do you have the Montreux performance where they performed Union of the Snake?

  • @8teeschic Everyone at Montreux Pop lip synced. :( I have Julian Lennon on this shown on A&E and he did it too. :(

  • @8teeschic Here played Bryan Ferry among others and everyone made playback. You're too young maybe.

  • I love DD. But why are they lip synching?

  • In 1985...95% of all television shows were not equipped for live music.

  • OMG! Thank you so much. A little tear in my eye here because I'd ALWAYS wanted to see footage from the Montreux Pop Festival--back when Roger and Andy were still in. Other thank this, last performances with the Fab 5 were Live Aid and the Secret Policeman's Ball--I think.
