Ever listen to the tribute PJ did for The Who in Seattle doing a recreation of a 70's Who concert????? I believe it was done in some record store and the band dressed in 70's Who attire....
Agreed...The Who are the greatest LIVE R&R band ever period and so many bands say they have been influenced by them but very few have the balls to try and attempt their music live on stage let alone in a studio...
I am surprised. I literally hate almost everything PJ have produced, but i have to admit, that they do make a very good cover of this song. Although, no one can be better than the Who!
This is what happens when an overrated band can`t write. Kurt Cobain was right, they suck. But then again so does every other band out there today ever since the advent of MTV (Empty-V)...Any music scene that considers REM and Madonna "Legends" is a music scene I could do without.
This is the only band which covers The Who and really don't make me sick.
For me The Who are undoubtly The Best, but recently i've seen some interview with singer of Pearl Jam and he said that he had whole room glued in posters of the who and that they are The Best for him and they are the biggest inspiration. Besides they are the only existing band that i can listen to without bleeding from ears.
So I just understand that for i while he wants to be like his idols and theres nothing wrong with it
I did'n know that Eddie Vedder said that The Who was one of his favorite bands, but I always thought that because his music is clearly influenced by them. For me The Who invented the rock scene: the sound, the attitude, etc., and probably every rock band in the world had a direct or indirect "inpiration" from The Who...
He even said few words about the who in "Amazing journey" the movie about The Who, as far i can remember.
I can't tell certainly who was inspired by The Who and how, but i can tell that nobody has ever played better on the live acts and nobody has ever put as much energy, passion and heart as The Who.
I know it's subjective, but on the secound place I would say hendrix and cobain..
Pearl Jam's drummer is awesome (his name is Matt Cameron) but not this time...because you can't see him in this video, it's My Morning Jacket [inc. their(!) drummer]+ Mr. Eddie Vedder himself (a f***in genius!)!
OK I clicked o tube and (I'm botherin'n to write this out) ( I'll do the double parathantheese- ya I know its a lomg word u-tubers0 OK Ed's like me loookin for the last good lookim' girl lookin' up.

Who cares if it's not perfect? At least they are exposing the fans to The Who. They are doing it as fans themselves.

Eddie Vedder's singing is alright, but there's no substitute for Keith Moon's drummming.
Cotoredondo 3 years ago 3
This is terrible. Grant, I couldn't do it any better, but this is just an insult to the amazing quality of The Who's performance.
Durandal24 3 years ago 4
i woldnt say horrible, but it isnt very good. They do Reign O'er Me much better
Critchie23 3 years ago
Well, they audio quality sucks so it's hard to tell if it's a good performance or not.

Apriltheses 3 years ago
you have to give them some credit for trying a more obscure song like this, imean its not as straight frward and timeless as their later songs
andyk10012 3 years ago
This is not Pearl Jam. It is My Morning Jacket opening for them and Eddie came out.

Eddie Vedder is the man, far and away the most interesting, entertaining, and provactive musician around. He can sing anything
bleacherzz 4 years ago
ha ha ha that's awesome...i wish it was a little faster on the drums, but no one will ever be keith moon.
whotles69 4 years ago
Note how on the part "My name is Ivor, I am an engine driver" The lead singer makes the crash while the drummer plays a drum role
The Pearl Jam drummer is awesome but even he wasn't fast enough to fit the drum role and the crash in! R.I.P Moon
